Please i am not online to beg lagos government to patronise Igbo businesses , the point I am driving is that the Igbo state governments should reciprocate this by stop the patronage of people, businesses whose government is not patronising igbo Business . this is very simple and clear enough.

Some of the actions they can take as I earlier highlighted include, total boycott of Apapa and tincan island ports by using ports closer to their states, total boycott of lagos international airport by using home airports , total boycott of Glomobile for official use , total boycott of oando, connoil , AP for official use by using home grown petrol retail outlets.

This is not too much for the Igbo States and affiliated States
You’ve been planning to do this since I was born and I will still get marry and you will keep this your plan

Go and check majority of tax payers in lagos comes from. Buying buses from India is simply enriching India tax payers , innosson imports his parts through lagos ports , uses a lagos based bank for his transactions , isrss lagos based import agents , pays lagos based transportation company to convey the procured parts to nnewi.

Lagos has just denied 100 companies in the value chain an opportunity to earn revenue from the transaction by buying straight from India
You are still writing foolishly as usual, give me specific value that innoson add to lagos

Has innoson ever done any CSR project in Lagos? Are the shareholders of innoson paying tax to lagos.

Is innoson remitting it staff PAYEE to Lagos,

Is Innoson engage in any project targeted at the benefit of lagosians that will use the bus ?

What does innoson bring to the table for lagos for lagos to patronize innoson

What financial contribution to lagos state government does innoson make?

You Ibos and you crazy false sense of entitlement is sickening

These igbos are funny creatures

You don’t allow any opportunity to pass you by when you have to insults yorubas but you want those you derogatorily call afonjas to show love and patronize your businesses while you keep insulting them daily

Una go cry tire when the age long manifestation of your behavior starts surfacing among the most liberal Nigerians-the yorubas

You are quite correct about purchasing from.India, what I am not quite sure is how Igbo intelligentsia will respond to this.

I am still wondering how beneficial it is for Igbo's to worship in the same church with their haters ,possibly Igbo's should start asking question .

Igbo patronage of lagos government infrastructure will be seriously looked into
Most times, hate beclouds good sense of reasoning.

Sentiment and emotions has clouded the reasoning of many Nigerian. Our politicians also understand the power of poverty when properly deployed and have used same over and over again to manipulate our youths and the manner they reason.

Keep up the good works sir.

Thanks and appreciate. Nigerians are too intelligent for what we allow some of the politicians to get away with all in the name of politics and ethno/religious sentiments

The guy na mumu

There was a follow up twit where Been Bruce simply asked that NIKE should be encouraged to set up it's manufacturing business in Aba , and thereby start a local production
The follow up was an after thought, after his intitial foolishness was pointed out, more like damage control

Encouraging NIKE is different from questioning the rationale for not giving the Aba Tailors the business of making the jerseys thus “the economy losing money” he put at #100 M

Quality and perfection is not a destination but "a work in progress"

The perception you have of Aba product is your mindset , and Aba is beyond your mindset.

There has been ongoing deliberate attempt by the present government in Abia to rebrand Aba products which is already churning results.

Can you guys just shove aside this nonsense sport branding and marketing? Who are they marketing it to? Is Nike more popular than Nigeria with a population of about 200 million people? Do you know what Nigerians spend just to follow the English Premier league? If indeed Nike as a brand is so superior like the way you guys are sounding why are they not leveraging on it by promoting the Malaysian football team's Jersey this world Cup year?

Without our qualifications to the world Cup Nike won't have been able to promote anything. So it's Nigeria first and not Nike. What the Senator is saying is that Nigeria is not getting enough from the business side of football with the current arrangement. It's only an educated illiterate that will try to prove otherwise.
Explain how Aba tailors would have done what NIKE did!
Sometimes emotion will not get you far

Is it not people coming to invest in your country huh

Who in Aba can put the kind of money (with no guaranteed return) that Nike put into the Eagles!

You are still regurgitating the same emotional , senseless babble.
This is why you failed all your comprehension exams.
Read slowly If it would help you understand.
Ben Bruce is not against Nike or Nike's business model.
Ben Bruce is simply tasking our collective common sense, the common sense of our national leadership. Of course, those who don't have common sense will have problems processing his simple query.
Well, it’s obvious here who have a comprehension problem here.

Nike cannot be burden to turn Aba tailors into Global brand! Once you mention Aba made, the common denominator that runs through people mind is inferior product!

I don’t think Nike will want to put money to market such item with bad reputation.

You are Ibo and that is why you are arguing in this subjective manner, you will only appreciate what is involved if you are objective.

Start creating the right image and branding for the tailors in Aba and see if reputable sport wears marketing firms will no come.

I urge you to read Ben Bruce's article as well as my post over and over again, until understanding and common sense overcomes you.
I repeat, on this matter, you and Ben Murray Bruce lack common sense!!

Nike is not obliged in any way to manufacture the jerseys in Nigeria or specifically to Aba traders!!

Aba tailors should have approach NIKE and table a proposal for the project! Whipping up emotions by your type and BMB is not common sense.

This conversation shouldn’t even be happening if we all understand how sport branding and marketing works.

Which epic response is that huh

People that just read two lines and jump to conclusions

What Bruce is saying is that, it could be manufactured in Nigeria, Aba to be precise

We have the man-power

It's not impossible, it a bargain that can be struck if the Federal government played their cards very well

Any government that is thinking of developing Nigeria's economy should know that!

It's common sense undecided
Rubbish! Sport wears marketing is quite different from giving contracts like you are sounding!!

Nike paid the piper, and they can dictate the time!

Who in Aba can promote the jersey brand the way NIKE did internationally!

So much mediocre thinking

Pandering to populism is not common sense

All these dummys castigating Ben Bruce seem to have comprehension problems.
It simply amazes me that all you guys all seem to think in one direction only.
I wonder why it appears so difficult to understand the very very important point that he is making or trying to get across.

The issue here is not about branding, but about the actual manufacture of the jerseys. After , Nike Does NOT manufacture anything. Nike contracts the manufacturer of all their products to sweatshops in Third World (shithole) countries in Guatemala, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, etc. A lot of Nike's products have been found to be made by child labor in slave like conditions in these countries.

The point the Ben Bruce is asking is that why shouldn't Nigerian labour, ABA manufacturing prowess to be specific, not have been considered for the manufacturer of Nigeria's official Jerseys, an enterprise that would have created jobs and $100m into our national coffers ?
Isn't such that one of the functions of a government ? To woo and encourage foreign investments , especially in an area in which we have local talent has been proven to be abundant ?
Are ABA manufacturing prowess not ripe or good enough for international manufacturing contracts from the likes of Nike and other sports wear brands ?

Isn't this where a responsible government that wants to create jobs come in and play a role ?

Ben Bruce is not criticizing Nike's branding or marketing rights. He is criticizing all of us, all Nigerians , our small mentality, our inability to think beyond the periphery.
All you have written is rubbish as business decisions are not done that way, NIKE can decide to make the jersey where they know have the capacity to handle such jobs!

All you are saying is that govt should force NIKE to contract out the sowing of the jerseys to your tailors in Aba..gibberish go say the least

you are also out of point...u don't understand Ben Bruce phrase
So it’s so difficult for any one you to explain?

Who in Aba will be willing to guarantee to tie down $100M in inventory and build such brand and marketing
You all are making this noise because NIKE gamble turned out to pay off...what if their sales of the jersey flopped and they incurred losses! Would you all be writing this rubbish including BMB ?

PoliticsRe: Nigeria Loses N224 Billion Revenue To IPOB Sit-At-Home Order - The Guardian by gurnam: 2:57pm On Jun 01, 2018
Throwback:
IPOB has always thrived on its own self-delusion.

It is a strong delusion that makes a group believe that despite the people already having a recognised and constitutional leadership that they can change if not effective, with the numbers of supporters they boast of, they would rather continue to shout and scream to get attention of a democratic world that already knows they have an existing democratic representation.

That is their greatest delusion. And until they take over the democratic representation of the people they claim to speak for in a democratic Nigeria, Nigeria and the world would continue to ignore their demands as a whisper, and continue to treat IPOB as a terrorists group if it ever attempts to undermine the constitutional and democratic structures of state that exist in their region.

No democratic country in the world would ever allow a group impose itself as a democratic representation of a section of that country without having been democratically enfranchised as dictated by the constitution of the country. When IPOB is ready to abandon its circus amusement for serious business, it will get serious with its agenda for a political control of the region. When it has won its battle in the SouthEast as the constitutional representative of the people, then it would have the right to speak or make demands.
The simple truth is this, IPOB as a group is not interested in taking over political leadership of the zone, they have political backers that are merely using IPOB as a “presssure group” for political concessions in the Nigeria political arena
