a. The Handheld “TMS” Camera

You may see LASTMA officers holding a small device that looks like a smartphone or a POS machine. That device you see with them is the TMS handheld camera. With one snap, they can capture your:

License plate
Exact violation
Location
Time
Once they have captured you, the evidence gets uploaded instantly. The officers will not argue nor indulge in any negotiation. Just pure digital evidence and you have been booked for a fine on the server at their backend.

b. Body Cameras on Officials

You may find this hard to believe but some LASTMA officers now wear body cameras that record every basic event in the surrounding areas. The cameras capture the following events:

How the officer approached you
What actually happened
Whether you were at fault or not
The body camera is said to helps reduce “he said, she said” arguments and enhance traffic management while keeping everything transparent.[2]

c. Smart ANPR Cameras

Lagos state government have installed cameras across major areas that automatically read license plates (The smart cameras are called ANPR).[3] These cameras can catch you even if no officer is around, especially if you:

a. Know the Offences Cameras Catch Easily

These are the top offences that technology catches with zero stress:

Dropping passengers in unsafe or prohibited areas
Since these are automated, you won’t “escape” just because no officer stopped you.

b. Keep Your Number Plate Clean and Visible

Keeping your plate number clean and visible is important. If your plate is:

Dirty
Covered
Hidden behind tinted glass
Bent or fading
ANPR cameras might flag you and you could even be fined for tampering with plates.

For Security Reasons, I wont be putting up the pictures and video with me but i can categorically confirm to you that students of Lagos State University, Ojo are protesting on the campus over the alleged manipulation of the Student Union Election for the 2017/2018 academic session.

The inconclusive election was initially supposed to hold yesterday but was unavoidably shifted to today.

Concerned Students alleged that the management is attempting to manipulate the election by tampering with the database of the E-voting system.
