Today I reported exclusively that Comedian AY Makun's lovely wife Mabel had moved out of their Lekki home and I did not know if it was a permanent move or not....That story you can take it to the Bank and even though i tried not to disclose the shocking details narrated to me on why it crashed,the Comedian has called me out asking me to help him reveal the details and that he does not want to ''join issues' with me.

Naij.com reached out to the comedian via a phone call and according to their website “The comedian said he does not want to join issues with Stella Dimokokorkus and that since she has all the details of his marriage breakup, she should tell it all. The comedian who is also an actor and movie producer said it is only unfortunate that Nigeria is a country where you cannot sue for damages.”

A 400-Level student of History and International Relations in a private university in Osun State, Adubi, who was arrested by men of Oyo State police command for allegedly impersonating Mrs. Florence Ajimobi, wife of Oyo State governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, on Facebook, has said the heavy burden of paying his school fees forced him into the crime.
Fielding questions from newsmen after he was paraded by the Commissioner of Police in Oyo State, Mr. Leye Oyebade, at Eleyele in Ibadan, Oyo State capital, the suspect explained that the sudden death of his father, who was a laboratory scientist, last year, made life difficult for him on campus.
Adubi, according to the police boss, was arrested on November 25, 2015, for allegedly opening a fake Facebook account purportedly belonging to Mrs. Ajimobi, adding that the suspect had the intention to defraud innocent and unsuspecting members of the public on the wall and timeline of the fake Facebook account by requesting them to pay certain amount into his bank account.

“The suspect lied to many people, informing them of the non-existent Women Empowerment Programme and Car Loan Scheme of the First Lady. The suspect confessed to the crime,” Oyebade said.
Adubi confessed that he opened a new Facebook account in the name of Mrs Ajimobi, searched for her pictures on Google and uploaded them later on the account. According to him, he posted on the wall and timeline of the account, two, schemes Women Empowerment Programme and Car Loan Scheme.
He stated that four persons contacted him on the scheme, but they said that they had not paid any money into his bank account.
Speaking further, he said: “Initially, I contacted a woman and intimated her about a woman empowerment programme going on in Oyo State and she promised to get back to me. She was the only one I contacted concerning the empowerment programme.
“After that, I made it public on the timeline that there is a car loan scheme going on as a way through which the governor and his wife intended to compensate the people of Oyo State for their loyalty and faithfulness towards his administration. So, interested people contacted me.
“A woman contacted me first. She asked about the details of what it would take to get the car. I told her that the kind of car she wants would determine how much she would pay as deposit. She asked for NISSAN Micra vehicle and I told her it would cost N300,000. But she would make N100,000 as deposit. So, she said she would get back to me, but she never did. Another person contacted me for NISSAN Micra vehicle and he also promised to get back to me and up till now, he did not.
“Then, another man contacted me as well for 2003 model of Toyota Camry. I told him the 2003 model was not available, but informed him that it was the 2006 model that was available and I asked him to deposit 300,000. He promised to get back to me as well. From that moment till now, I have not received a dime from him as well.”
Curiously, the suspect said he would have loved to have the opportunity to talk one-on-one with Mrs. Florence Ajimobi. That desire appears to be a pipedream as it is uncertain the Oyo First Lady would be willing to meet him.
“I believe I should get a pardon because, I have not received a dime from anybody. If I am actually given the opportunity to have a heart-to-heart talk with the First Lady, I can plead with her as a son to assist me so that I can go back to school and get a first degree. Nobody around me, who knows me very well, would allow my level of intelligence to waste away,” he said.
The suspect appealed to well-meaning Nigerians to give him a chance to go back to school, adding: “I lost my father last year and the financial burden has been too much for me to pay my school fees. So, that was what led me into it. Nobody taught me how to do it. In this computer age, every youth has access to the Internet; provided you are computer literate, there are so many things you will be able to do by yourself without being taught.”
The suspect also explained that the portion of his father’s gratuity that got to him was used to settle the debt he incurred while going to school. He lamented that the financial capacity of his mother could not see him through the school, saying: “I still have a mother, but it is different when the responsibility of two parents become that of one person.”

Mrs Lillian Ikombia Davies, the Bursar of Kenule Saro-Wiwa Polytechnic Bori,the Rivers State owned Polytechnic and Dr Iba Lebari ,a lecturer in the Department of Management of the University of Port Harcourt have been separately kidnapped at different locations in the state on their way home after work.

According to ,Mrs Davies was allegedly trailed by the kidnappers from Bori before she was intercepted at Akpajo-Eleme, along the East-West road in Eleme Local Government area of Rivers State on Monday.

Dr Iba Lebari was kidnapped by unidentified gunmen after close of work.

The whereabouts of the victims remained unknown at press time.

The management of the University of Port Harcourt has condemned the kidnap of Dr Lebari and called for his unconditional release.

A statement by the Deputy Registrar, Dr Williams Wodi, on behalf of the institution said the kidnapped lecturer has some medical issues that needed regular medication and should no be in solitary confinement.

The Rivers Police Command had not reacted to the two abductions at the time of this report.

Governor Nyesom Wike had charged the 22 Caretaker Committee Chairmen to work with security agencies to stem the tide of kidnappings in the local government areas.

Governor Wike threatened to sack any chairman where kidnappings are recorded.

Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, has been appointed as the new chancellor of the University of Benin (UNIBEN).

Vice-Chancellor, Faraday Orunmwense, made the announcement on Monday at a press conference on the university’s 41st convocation.

He said the new chancellor would be installed on November 25.

Barth Nnaji, former minister of power, will also deliver a convocation lecture at the institution.

Orunmwense also explained that 64 out of 11,020 graduands, would be conferred with first class degree, while 7,034 persons would graduate with other classes of first degrees.

Master’s degree and doctoral degree will also be awarded to 2, 594 students.

Solomon Arase, Inspector-General of police, Osato Giwa, a constant gynaecologist, will bag honorary degrees during the convocation.

About N18.7 billion meant for primary school teachers’ salaries was paid into an unknown account, a commission of inquiry in Benue led by Justice Elizabeth Kpojime revealed on Wednesday.

According to the commission, Benue State Bureau for Local Government and Chieftancy Affairs made the payment into an account with First Bank in Makurdi.



The Permanent Secretary of the Bureau, Mr. Emmanuel Ikpe, had problems explaining the identity of the owner of the account. He asked the commission to invite the former Special Adviser of the Bureau, Solomon Wombo and former Permanent Secretary, Asen Sambe, during the period under investigation to explain who owns the account where the money was lodged, the Punch has revealed.

He explained that N1.8bn monthly salaries of primary school teachers owed between October 2013 and June 2014, was lodged in the fixed deposit account number 1017993231 with First Bank.

He said that the Bureau made payments between January and May, 2015 to the tune of N18.7bn into the unknown account. He further explained that the bank refused to reveal the owner of the account when approached by the bureau.

Mr Ikpe could not also tell the commission why the Bureau made the payment of N4.6bn in May and N5bn in June last year among other similar transactions. He said the former accountants of the Bureau Isaiah Ipevnor and Sambe, were in the best position to explain.

On why N3.4m was being paid monthly by the Bureau to a contractor, Ameh Technology, Ikpe explained that the Bureau had entered into a contractual agreement with the company for the supply and maintenance of generators in the 23 local government areas of the state.

However, he explained that since he became Permanent Secretary, the bureau has discontinued the payment and is thinking of terminating the contract with the company.

When Kpojime also demanded to know why Ashitech, Ashifood and Akpo Integrated Limited were being paid between N40m and N45m monthly, the Permanent Secretary requested for time to enable him to look into the records and furnish the commission with details.

The sitting adjourned to today and Ikpe is expected to continue testifying and to present the document requested by the commission.
