Onegai:
If your parents were married legally, she can take your step-brother to court and get him to sell the house and divide the profits equally or settle for living there for the remainder of her life. There was a court case not too long ago about an Igbo lady who took her siblings or uncles to court to inherit and she won. So there is precedence. You need a good lawyer who specialises in these things.
Yes you are right and let me add as an Igbo man myself:
Go and read the judgement given by the Supreme court on the matter and now accepted by council of Ohaneze in Igboland that female children and wife all have equal share in their fathers estate where the man dies interstate except where there is a written will.
Your mum should in charge of that property and share the proceeds accordingly at her discretion to all the children.
If Igbo elders have accepted that judgment as an amended 'omena'ala', then your brother can longer make reference to that aspect of our culture which we have agreed is unfair to our daughters and wives.

Read the news here and look for a copy of this judgement.

The first judgment was on an appeal marked: SC.224/2004 which was filed by one Mrs. Lois Chituru Ukeje, (wife of late Mr. Lazarus Ogbonna Ukeje) and her son, Mr. Enyinnaya Lazarus Ukeje. The duo entered the appeal against Mrs. Gladys Ada Ukeje

Nice. However, wherever those products are being exported , they do not know Willie Obiano. It is petty to drape goods for export with political slogans.
Tell Aregbe to build a flyover and name it after himself, tell Fayose to build a railway line and paint it in PDP colours and the people will not care, all we want is progress and infrstructure; you can even wrap it with Oshogbo weed no problem grin

He should go to Anambra State and ask Willie Obiano how he is able to pay pensioners up to date and even increased civil servants salaries by 15% this year.

Chai, see as everybody they use APC failure dey shine.

Well, they tot GEJ won't step down, so instead of preparing to govern, they were preparing for violence. Now the ball is in their court. No arguments!
APC - F9 in good governance.
Everyone in Nigeria knows that they thought GEJ would do like other African leaders who refuse to step down, then there would be violence and the UN will step in and impose the acclaimed winner into power who will then ask for time to do 'reconciliation' before real governance starts.
GEJ conceding even before the final results were announced destroyed all their plans

Dont be ashamed, the South East has the best democratic credentials in Nigeria. Thats the ONLY region with 3 political parties (PDP, APC, APGA) as Govs in 5 States.

Foreign Affairs › Re: Matenneh Kromah, A Soldier Wears Hijab On Duty In Liberia (pic) by Guyman02:
A Hijab cannot do what a Kevlar helmet can do for a soldier as a safety measure. The helmet is meant to protect the head.

Very soon we will see some deviants in the Nigerian Army copying this lady; then somebody will go to a High court and the Christian Judge will say 'it is against the norm in the Army and Police to wear the Hijab contrary to official uniform code' then the matter moves to Court of Appeal and the presiding Muslim judge will give a judgement saying 'Hijab is part of worship for Muslim women that should be allowed in public institutions'
Nigeria is sinking!

Hundreds of Civilian JTF in Yobe and Borno States (local Vigilante protecting their communities) have been recruited as regular soldiers in the Nigerian Army and we saw them parading here last week, I hope the same favour will be granted to vigilantes in the South including OPC, Egbesu and Bakassi because what is good for Adamu is also good for Adams except if Nepotism is now part of national life.
