Is Atiku under the influence of shekpe or Kparaga? Have you watched Gen Buhari visiting any Northern town and the tumultuous crowd he pulls, all chorusing 'mai gaskiya, mai gaskiya' (a man of truth and credibility)? IBB can go around the North unnoticed, so he is no gaddem leader of the North to be compared to Sadauna. Haba! Kai, menini? |
They caliphate wants to expand into the south and Jos lies at the middle blocking further movement. Therefore, it has to be decimated in other for the ambition of Uthman Dan Fodio of taking sand from the desert in the North and pouring it into the Atlantic ocean in the South can be achieved. The only regret is that the Plateau people where those who fought bitterly against Biafra to keep Nigeria together under the deception of a monolithic North as propounded by Sadauna. The new generation of Northern minorities have learnt that the average Hausa and Fulani Muslim views them as 'kafiri' (infidels) that should be subjugated and ruled over and that was why Late major Gideon Orkar ordered the excision of the core North from Nigeria in the failed coup attempt. What the Fulanis want in other to have a peace of the grave yard in Plateau is the same situation in Ilorin where a first class Emir will be appointed to oversee the area. Any attempt to change the above status will be fiercely resisted as happened when Late Kwara State Gov Lawal installed his relation as a first class Oba in Ilorin, he not only lost the chance for a return ticket due to the connivance of the Sarakis with the Fulanis, but had his installed (Afonja descendant) Yoruba Oba deposed by Bukola Saraki and him Lawal eliminated which led to rioting and destruction of lives and property in 2003. The calculation is to distabilise Plateau and ensure that the man they hate so much Gov Jonah Jang (a Berom) does not return, have a loyalist installed in the next election like was done in Kwara and change the political and traditional equation in Plateau State in favour of the Hausas and Fulanis and also have a first class Emir of Jos North. |
alj harem1:You keep typing trash. Igbos never celebrated the actions of a few military officers led by Major Kaduna Nzeogwu who sees himself as more of a Hausa man because of his mother then. He joined Biafra when he knew that his Hausa cousins wanted his head. |
We should learn to give praise to anybody who has done well. I think the Igbos have really worked hard to survive in Nigeria after their losses in the war. Nigeria has not been really fair to them and other citizens in the West and the North. Sometimes I respect OBJ for one thing, he commends you if you do well and never forgives if you offend no matter your tribe. The Yorubas gained a lot from the war with Awo as Finance Minister, they controlled the banks until Elumelu came into the system with Standard Trust bank and changed banking in Nigeria. The bought all the shares in the major multinationals like Nestle, NBL, Cadbury, Kewalrams, Leventis etc (Igbos entered the market when there was a global meltdown and lost so much money in the ensuing kalo -kalo) Yorubas controlled the oil industry (Shell, Mobil, Chevron, AGIP etc) because the abokis only wanted the money and political power not who works there as indigenous staff and the Niger Deltans were too backward to fit in. The Igbos were far ahead of the regions in Nigeria and were recognised as the fastest growing economy in the world in early sixties. In the North they are always victims of attack by the Hausas as a result of jealousy and every riot starts with the looting and burning of their shops and churches. The Igbos are the tribe that is truly unifying Nigerians, because they live in the midst of all tribes whether Nupe, Fulani, Kagoro, Ogbomosho you find them there. Unlike the Hausas and Fulanis, they make no attempt to takeover your land and forcefully rule over you. They would rather earn their money and negotiate to buy portions from you and still pay homage to your native traditions without imposing their culture on you. |
Cut down in his prime; he wrote so maturely for a 21 old. He made me to realise that their is still hope for the youths in our country from the way he wrote. He went to fulfil his American dream, but was gunned down by wicked people. I hope that someday we will start talking about living the Nigerian dream. RIP. To your family, we at NL will continue to pray that you find consolation. |
Princek12:Na your papa chop their hands off! There is no way we can exonerate the govt here. There should be a welfare programme bereft of corruption to cater for indigent kids. The 'Allah ya baka, ka bamu' (God gave you riches and gave me poverty thats why i have to beg from you) mentality in the North should be discouraged and the traditional rulers (Emirs) whom the people see as next to Allah should make their people to understand that their is dignity in labour and nothing honourable in begging for a living. |
Why should this rumour make the front page moderator? it should have remained in the romance section. I just wasted two minutes of my life reading this. Genevieve get belle for D,banj and so what? ![]() |
philip0906:There is a lot of distortion of facts by the international media sponsored by France and US. The supreme court of Ivory Coast declared Gbagbo winner just like it did in US when Bush (Jnr) rigged election in Florida and nobody went to war to impose Al Gore on America. Before America goes to war the consider the post war benefits to their country. When we intervened in Liberia and Sierra Leone so many gallant Nigerian soldiers and resources were wasted and today the European companies are there mining copper, diamond, timber while we sit here typing trash on NL. How many Nigerian firms are operating in Liberia and Sierra-Leone and repatriating money back home? Now the French and America want us to go in and install their puppet Ouattara and handover Ivory Coast to them with our blood and next our brothers and sisters residing there will bear the brunt if a civil war erupts, while the Europeans and Americans will quickly send warships and aircrafts to evacuate their citizens. Our soldiers are required in Jos, Maiduguri and other flash points in the country where they are failing to guarantee the security of lives and property and not in Cote'divoire. OBJ who organised a parallel PDP primary at his Library that declared his daughter Iyabo winner to replace Abiolas daughter is not democrat enough to ask Gbagbo to step down. He who seeks equity must come with clean hands. Or you think that the Ivorians are not following events happening in Nigeria? The Ghanian president pulled out because the same people instigating problems now in Ivory Coast where the same people who ordered the murder of their nationalist leader Nkruma and Lumumba of Congo because the tried to entrench Pan Africanism and remove colonial imperialism and Western thought process that has held Africa down. |
The guy also launched his own version of face-book during the event. I learnt 25,000 people were at the venue, times am by N1000. Nna meen; That guy (pastor Chris) don hammer. |
alaper:Maybe some pastors holy books states 'first salary' and not first fruit. Fruit is harvested from the farms and orchads. People should be encouraged to embrace agriculture so that there will be abundant firsts fruits for all the pastors like first mango, first orange, first cashew, first yam, first cocoa yam, first cassava, first garden egg and even first gworo ![]() |
Gowon was comparing the value of an Almajiri child to a Harvard trained kid in the US. Perhaps his people in Plateau State would be better off without them. The Emirs are holding the average Hausa person captive under the guise of religion. They quickly sell out their rights for money. All you need to win an election is to be in the good books of an Emir by always shouting 'ranka dede zaki' and promise him you will remember to bring money from govt coffers to service his horses and buy him the latest Limousine. I wouldnt blame Gowon so much, its possible he is a shareholder in Pfizer, so he needs to defend his business interests |
byrron:I supported initially the plans by GEJ to establish Almajiri integrated schools, but on a second thought I think it will turn to a breeding ground for terrorism just like the madrasas in Pakistan that groomed the Taleban fundamentalist group. A situation where you have an all boys school paid for by the FG with Islamic scholars coming from different areas and countries to impact western education and Islamic studies without mixing it up with Christian youths and females could be a time bomb because the kids could get easily radicalised and be used as canon fodders to foment more trouble in the North and Nigeria. The Hausa are not more knowlegible than the Yorubas in Islamic studies lai-lai, the only entrench the Almajiri educational system as a political tool to protect the interest of their own children who will takeover the reins of leadership from themselves. How come people like Atiku, Buhari, IBB, Ciroma are not telling us how they will eradicate Almajiri and illiteracy in the Northern citizens? |
The situation in the Muslim world today is that of growing extremism. Muslims in Egypt and Northern Nigeria can take a cue from the Yorubas where everyone is allowed to follow his thoughts either as a Christian, Muslim, Ifa worshiper or atheist and celebrate each others religious festivals happily together (Xmas, Illeya, Osun Oshogbo etc). The Egyptian Coptic Christians are Arabs just like the Muslims, same applies to Iraq and other middle eastern countries. It is appalling to see lawyers and people in Pakistan celebrating the murder of a Governor by his 'trusted' bodyguard over his comments that blasphemy laws targeted at minorities (mostly Ahmadiyya Muslim Community) should be reviewed. What the Egyptians have done is a good development, Muslims and Christians need to stand up fo each other and confront extremism frontally. |
An aboki said to an ashi 'This thing wey we do; I sweet me - I sweet you, why you dey conflain say make I fay? Its obvious that women enjoy irresponsible behaviours from men when it is in their favour and lament bitterly if they loose out on the same irresponsible behaviour to another woman and then suddenly realise that the man is irresponsible. Theres no smoke without fire. If you want men to be very responsible dont tempt them with your low waist jeans sitting on an okada or in their front on a danfo bus; next, he will just drop at the nearest brothel or his gf place and complete the irresponsibility that a woman has led him into. |
Those who agreed to pay, did so because they wanted to be entertained and catch some fun through the 'man of God's ' way of preaching, singing, dancing and speaking in tongue and even designer dressing. So, why una dey drink panadol for anoda headache? |
Hey! This not Jos. I remember that this picture was result of Petrol Tanker fire in Congo which consumed a lot of people watching the world cup. Do not stoke the embers of discord further, we feel sad about the happenings in Jos. But no wrong or false pictures please. |
I could remember being at a meeting with the Former Minister of Power Liyel Imoke (Now Gov of Cross river) in 2005 where he raised the same question and he was promised that the situation will be rectified by the Chinese OEM before the completion of the plant. It seems like a strategy and deception by the Chinese to run the power plant by signing an LTSA (Long Term Service Agreement) with FG on completion. Imoke also complained that he was being asked to approve the deployment of extra 300 Chinese expartriates and he wondered what they are coming to do in a single power plant when we have Nigerian Engineers. Those who signed that contract should be questioned for incuring losses to the country. Its unfortunate that the parts in the turbines do not have serial numbers making it difficult to replace. The Chinese contractor claimed initially that the equipment was totally from General Electrics (Belfort and Schnectady USA) but the ended up supplying turbines made in Nanjing China with GE logo and when asked GE USA claimed that GE Nanjing is their subsidary and they are allowed to use Chinese manuals based on area of operation. The reality of the situation is that GE USA and GE Nanjing entered into a partnership where GE USA supplies some key parts, while the other major components are manufactured by GE Nanjing in China. Its realy a complicated situation in Olorunshogo that arose due to poor initial contract evaluation process and insincerity of the Chinese Govt who insisted that the project must be awarded to a Chinese company based on the counterpart funding agreement with the FGN (Chinese Govt provided 30% of the funding). It also shows that foreign aid or counterpart funding to Africa is a falacy. No free lunch in London, |
slap1:From Wikileaks we saw how the British Govt through Shell manipulates our society and Fed Govt policies. GEJ should not attempt sending our troops to go and do a dirty job for France in CIV. ECOWAS is also being manipulated by France and US using GEJ and knowing that we have an elections in 2011 and he would want to appear to preparing for credible elections. We went to war in Liberia and Sierraleaone lost so many soldiers and even our journalists and resources and at the end we pulled out for the Europeans to go in and start mining Diamonds, timber and corper, next they will discover oil and gas and how many Nigerian conpanies are operating there today and repartriating money back home. Outtara called for general strike and the citizens ignored totally and the western controlled media is not reporting that. How can you have free and fair elections in an area controlled by rebels armed by France. With the internet, the new generation of Africans are getting wiser and know that the western govts are only interested in continuing with their imperialism in Africa and we cant trust them in Ivory Coast. The show us pictures of refugees in CIV to make us see Gbagbo as a devil when in fact they are the ones fanning the crisis. |
GEJ married her as a house wife, and when he became president, she authomatically becomes first lady. What matters to GEJ is the language she speaks in the bedroom when them dey do the thing and that language is universal Oh Ah! chei, ewo, mmmmmh i am comiiiing, dont stoopp!!!! ![]() |
fm7070:Nna meen you too much. You must be a counsellor? I like the bolded. Age is nothing but numbers; I think she loves you and was afraid of loosing you. Take time to study her circle and ovulation period; anyday she tells you that she is feeling sick and have headache dont pity her check to see if that is her ovulation day (if you sabi) then make quality love to her and pour in everything and let her remain there for sometime with her buttocks placed on a pillow to ensure that the fast swimming sperm cells hit the eggs in her uterus. Gbam! she go get belle and give you plenty pikins and sidren. Goodluck! but not jonathan |
This was the reason why the ilk of Awo (old enough to be Ojukwu's papa), made overtures to Ojukwu not to go to war. He Ojukwu, refused saying the old man was talking platitudes describing the meeting itself as a"waste of time". The bottomline is, ojukwu shouldn't have gone to war but he took a massive gamble with his OWN people's lives and when he lost, he absconded to safety. The sad part for me is that the man is not even repentant. he doesn't seem to have the capacity to appreciate how disastrous his rash decisons has impacted on his people. His recent utterances and stance brought me to that conclusion. Imagine for a second where the igbos would be NOW as a people, had they not gone to war THEN and lose so many of their bright young generations in the process. All sacrificed to satisfy one man's ego though skillfully adorned with the garb of nationalism.
He went to war because
“Some of these people were not there when our people were killed in the North. I was a Minister then, we go to receive bodies of massacred Igbos in the North at the airport and railway station. These Northerners were so heartless and wicked that after killing a pregnant woman, they will use their knife open her belly, remove the baby there and killed the baby too. After doing all these, they will send the corpses of the Igbos they killed back to us in Igboland for burial. And some of the people who ordered this pogrom are still alive today. Quote Maazi Ozobu |
The staff of Arik are always looking unhappy when you compare them with those of AERO. Perhaps the management can embark on staff motivation to improve productivity and delivery. The other time we complained about the manner in which some of there pilots slam the aircraft to the ground during landing as if they are protesting against the passengers, but that has been greatly improved upon. The company is doing well by covering many unused airports in nigeria but I feel they should focus more on the local route for the moment. My last trip from South Africa with Arik was almost in an empty aircraft that I felt like playing volleyball on board. We should commend Arik for investing locally and creating needed jobs whichever way the wealth comes from, afterall many of our leaders have their stolen funds stashed abroad and making money for the oyinbo people. |

Was his father one of those who took our properties? If we come together as one, we can negotiate for properties now, but we can never negotiate the killing of our people. Maazi Ozobu (ohaneze) Inspite of the above; Ojukwu made sure no Northern civilian was killed in the South East. He arranged rail transport for them in their thousands to show that the igbos are not a barbaric people. Thats why even the northen soldiers who fought aginst him respect him. You hear them sing 'Sun che mu kafcho Ajuku doble fay, ama ba mu sameshi ba' (we were told to Capture Ojukwu and get double payment, but he was invincible that we couldnt see him) |
hassymo5:The same laws that he and others collect 25.4% of our national budget to make. Kuje prison is very close to his office; just throw him into prison and him eye go clear and he will start vomitting that N9b that he spent N18,000 to buy torch for lawamakers when policemen wey need torch for checkpoints dey use firewood light to stop and search. ![]() |
BANK-ole is a huge disappointment to the Nigerian Youths; he vehemently violates court orders just like his 'I dey laff' godfather OBJ. He is yet to explain to the Nigerian masses what happened to the N9billion he consumed only him that brought about the free for all at the Assembly. BANK-ole is truely an ole with plenty money in the Bank |
pharuk:You may not see the clues if you stupidly think that your wife must be a saint; but if you were once or still a playboy you can never trust any woman 100% even your wife and when she makes any slight move of having emotional attachment to another man you will know immediately not 3 years. This happens to the brothers who always claim to be 'holier than thou' born agains. There was an experience of a lady who claims that her fiance says no sex before marriage and she accepted, but was always coming to my friends room to Shine her Congo regularly even up to 2 days before their wedding. |

That Picture is a piece of art work. I have seen it many times before and its just a prank. some people are already panicking thinking it is a reincarnation of their fore fathers. I have just discovered a fossil in a cave in my backyard of a creature called indomienoodlestaurus which roamed the plains of Nigeria two hundred miilion years ago. Here is the picture of the discovered fossil bones on my dinning table

This man is an enigma, I read an article recently by Gary Busch where he mentioned Ojukwu and Biafra and stated that Britain and Russia bitter cold war rivals at the time had to agree to stop Ojukwu and the success of Biafra because of the ingenuity of the people which could spread to other African countries and deny them access to Oil and raw materials. People like Ken Saro Wiwa and other leaders including Awolowo did not foresee what Ojukwu saw then and failed to negotiate better deals for their region having supported the Nigerian Military Govt in the civil war. That is why today, the new generation of Yoruba leaders led by the Chief Area Boy and Bad Guy (nuff respect) Asiwaju Bola Tinubu is carving out an identity for the Western Region today and we all can see the quality of accountable leadership that they are offering from Lagos to Edo to Ondo to osun through the platform of ACN. It was under Ojukwus leadership that the Eastern region local engineers and crafts men were able to refine crude oil and build Armoured Personnel Carriers (APC) etc while today we are arguing on NL whether the Govt is correct for lifting the embargo on importation of toothpicks, textile or 15 years for abandoned tokumbo cars from Europe and Asia. The youths in the Niger Delta realised what Ojukwu was fighting for and that Adaka Boro made a mistake for fighting against Biafra and decided to pick up arms many years later to be heard and reduce environmental degradation and poverty in their communities which brought about the collapsing amnesty programme and GEJ presidency. Ojukwu wants the Nigerian Project to work. So I wish him quick recovery. He is a great man |
I wish him quick recovery. He is to the Igbos what Awolowo is to the Yorubas and Sadauna to the Hausas. He stood up to be counted among his people. While the pogrom and massacre against the Igbos was taking place in the North, he did something extra ordinary, by getting civilians of Northern origin into trains back to the North without harming them and saving thousands of lives. Like him or hate him; he will always be adored by the Igbos. The other time when armed robbers accosted him on Enugu - Onitsha expressway, one of them shouted 'Okwanu Ojukwu oo!' (its Ojukwu) the quickly cleared the way and were returning items collected from motorists to their owners at the scene; thats the influence of the Ikemba on the people, that even criminals rever him, not to mention good people. |
