BTW how much does each doctor receive in Naira? I always hear CONMESS, CONSHIT, CONPISS all those are the same acronyms that govt officials have been using to defraud the country.
If it is N10,000 and now they want 200,000 they should make it public and prevent this unnecessary loss of lives to frequent strikes.

JACUBA:
I condemn in totality the recent killings and destruction of property in Akwa Ibom State. This election is not worth the blood of any Akwa Ibomite. For Gov. Akpabio's disciples to stop Sen. Udoedeghe's campaign in Ikot Ekpene is not worth killing anybody and destroying any property in Akwa Ibom State. Akwa Ibom belongs to all of us. When I supposed the era of thuggery and rigging is fading away while sanity is gradually gaining its roots into the electoral system, why WILL Akwa Ibom be different from other states?. I feel very sad about this happenings in my state. I must confess that Gov. Godswill Akpabio has done very well in Akwa Ibom. Why can't we join hands together with him and make Akwa Ibom a greater state? Gov. Akpabio will not stay there for life and trust me the next four years is almost here. Please I urge everyone to stop all these violence and let's have a peaceful election in Akwa Ibom State. If GOv. Akpabio succeeds again, good and fine. He will continue with his good works, but if another person wins, the person should be prepared to transform Akwa Ibom more than what Gov. Akpabio has done and not to drag us backward.
You are correct @bolded
The fact is that ACN doesnt have valid points of under performance against Akpabio, therefore they are trying hard to whip up tribal sentiments of Anang vs Ibibio. Also its clear that Akpabio sited more projects in Ibibio land than his Anang constituency, something that Victor Attah could not do.
ACN in Akwa-Ibom just like in Rivers are short of campaign promises to make because Rotimi Amaechi and Akpabio are great performers in the mold of Fashola.
Tinubu should concentrate on other states and leave Akwaibom and Rivers if project delivery is a criteria in this elections

I am from the East, I would rather vote a man who spends Nigeria's wealth building roads in the North, providing constant electricity in the North and developing the North in every way he can, than vote GEJ who spends Nigeria's wealth and billions of naira on 50th independence party cake, jamboree, first lady entourage and godfather entertainment.

If Buhari develops the north, it is still Nigeria he is developing not USA, not Britain, not China, not Dubai, it is Nigeria, and somehow, the wealth will flow down south. People should avoid this south, west, east, north bigotry. We need someone to provide 6 months of uninterrupted electricity in two or three states, regardless of the geographical location of the states.
Are you truly from the SE? Due to the non location of road and other projects by PTDF to the SE which got the least allocation, it virtually led to mass migration to the North by the Easterners where several of them were mowed down in religious and tribal riots.
I respect Buhari, but without sentiments the PTDF was especially biased to the SE morethan the SW.
I remember the plan to build a mega coal fired power plant in Enugu which was abandoned after the feasibility studies was conducted by Japanese engineers because the Northern leaders were skeptical of siting a costly project there and would rather prefer the country remains in darkness.
After several years of denial, GEJ has just awarded the coal power plant projects for Enugu, Benue, kogi and Gombe at least GEJ cannot be accused of being an ethnic bigot. His projects are well spread out, the only issue is the completion schedules which are not being strictly followed

The question some will ask is what is wrong with the blackman. After the devastating earthquake in Japan, the world is amazed that there has been no report of looting or protests by the people. You watch the search and rescue team pull out a body, stand in a minute silence, the soldiers give their salute to the dead and the body is taken away in a stretcher; even in death, they get respect. Unlike in Haiti, where we watched looters on rampage while bodies are thrown indiscriminately around and then cholera epidemic broke out without control.
If it has been in Nigeria, you would have seen Governors posing for pictures with a few bags of rice and matresses, After the photoshoot, the victims become history. May God help us

i cant beleive you said it is lack of fund that is the problem, so more tax. no sir!!!. a few weeks to elections and all the roads in lagos and some other states are being tarred overnight. so where did the money come from? the problem is not lack of fund but too much fund that is being looted. just get into governemnt in nigeria and see the level of stealing going on  and you will realise it ,
infact nigerians are already over taxed  indirectly, we pay for our  own security, water, light ,health, education , take care of your immidiate and extended families , govt exist here only for itself  . they are not aware anyone exist
The rehabilitation or construction of roads is tied to political patronage. Federal Roads in the South East are the worst in Nigeria because previous Govts saw them as rebels for a long time.
Buhari used a lot of money from PTF to fix many roads in the North because he is from there.
GEJ is building major roads into Abuja at great speed because he passes there everyday.
Very important Federal roads in Lagos were abandoned in other to avoid ACN taking credit for them.
The already bad roads are facing intense pressure because haulage companies and trailer owners will not allow the railway to become effective.
The toll gates were angrily abandoned because revenue generated ended up in private pockets of political opponents.

Most road construction materials are imported because the local industry has failed to develop and foreign construction firms will always patronise manufacturers in their home countries. e.g. Julius Berger will cut massive stones from the quarry in Mpape Abuja, move them on the bad roads to the wharf in Lagos or Warri, transport same to Germany and bring back as very expensive marbles from Frankfurt used in their building constructions for politicains and Govt agencies in Nigeria. They dont pay for the damage their trucks does while moving these rocks to the seaports; rather they get new contracts at huge inflated sums to rehabilitate same roads.
and on and on it goes

President Obama Meets with Fresh Science Talent
March 15, 2011 at 05:17 PM EDT

President Barack Obama talks with the 2011 Intel Science Talent Search finalists in the East Room of the White House,

Keeping his commitment to honor remarkable science and math scholars just like sports champions, President Obama today welcomed 40 high school finalists of the Intel Science Talent Search to the White House.

The President congratulated the students for embodying what is needed to out-educate our global competitors, adding that as the next generation of scientists, engineers, and technological leaders, their success is crucial for America to win the future.  The students also stand out as role models for the benefits of high-quality science, technology, engineering, and math, or STEM, education in the United States, a key priority for the President.

The 40 high school STEM superstars have been in Washington, DC since Thursday for final judging of their projects.  While in DC, they had the opportunity to meet with scientists and publicly display their work (which includes projects like Automatic Parallelization through Dynamic Analysis and Traveling the Interplanetary Superhighway: An Autonomous Spacecraft Navigation System). Tonight the final winners will be announced at a ceremony, where the top prize of $100,000 will be awarded.

The Intel Science Talent Search is one of the most highly-regarded science research competitions in the country.  Many past Science Talent Search participants have gone on to distinguished careers, including seven Nobel laureates, four National Medal of Science winners, 11 MacArthur Foundation Fellows, and two Fields Medalists (as well as one Academy Award winner—Natalie Portman!).

This year’s finalists include 16 girls and 24 boys who represent 39 schools in 15 states and were selected from over 1,700 applications tied to cutting edge research.  President Obama applauds the work of these young innovators and of pioneering minds throughout the Nation.

Where is Nigerias own version, apart from the telecom companies using musical talents to advertise their products on TV as Idols. Where are our science or engineering idols?

The fact remains that Dame Patience has soiled her hands with public funds belonging to the people of Bayelsa as wife of Governor. Go to Yenagoa and ask the average person on the street what they think about her and they will tell you she is nothing but a very corrupt woman.
People who like GEJ will vote for him as a person without considering the integrity of his wife who is no different from Turai. Go to Abuja and see the massive estate at the heart of Abuja, beside Ansarudeen Mosque in Wuse II, that Turai is building and you wonder where she got such money.

Last week, there was a report that she has acquired another set of oil vessels worth $64m.
Put the fact straight, Dame Patience was accused of money laundering wayback 2006 including Nkoyo Ibori who is in prison in the UK for the same charges.

The worst error GEJ and his PDP campaign team will make is to attempt to malign GMB in any form; they are definitely not on the same pedestal on that area and thats why GEJ is publicly denying them.

Buharis wife can be a Christian, though false in this case; but it is a reality that Muslim girls are not permitted to date or marry Christian men its seen as haram, but Muslim men are encouraged to date and marry as many Christian girls as possible ( a case of what is good for the goose not being good for the gander). There was rioting and massacre in Egypt last week because a Muslim girl was dating a coptic christian and her father was shot dead for not bringing her out to be stoned to death like it was planned for that lady Aisha in Zamfara, who was rescued by the US Govt who paid blood money (Diyya) to her captors.

Religion should be separated entirely from state, having Sharia police (Hisba) in some states of Nigeria should be banned.
The abokis rooting for Buhari are doing it out of religious sentiment. What you hear when he is addressing the crowds is shouts of Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar!!
I respect Islam, the way it is practiced among the Yorubas and wish that other Muslims will emulate them. Living in peace and respecting the Ifa worshiper or Christian as they practice their faith and celebrating with each other in good or bad times whether it is Osun Osogbo, Xmas, Sallah, Illeya they are always celebrating their cultural heritage and Yorubaness before religion

sleek reek, all i am saying is the government cannot ban them from bringing in cars without airbags as even in civilized countries airbags are not a must have in cars(see my earlier post for examples). what people forget is in America no shipping and clearing costs involved so the cost price of one rio is at least 600,000 naira less than in Nigeria and they roughly cost the same in both places (base Rio $11000 and N1.8m) . Those expenses have to be taken from somewhere and in a car like a Rio that has nothing thats all there is to take out. All im saying is if u want airbags save more money, if you think that its a good deal buy. if they put airbags in kia and still pay all the shipping costs the car would be 2.5 - 2.6 then who go buy. men think like we educated, until we start assembling these cars here, cars would either come ill equipped or over priced so u need to think about that.Besides its not like the government is forcing you to buy a kia and kia themselves sell Rios with airbags so if u want buy that one for 500k more.

To be honest if everybody in Nigeria got their licenses by taking a driving test like civilized people and obeyed traffic signs wede be a lot safer. People drive the opposite direction on one way roads, drive in between roads and beat traffic lights(when lasma no they) and then same people talking bout airbags. Men all i am saying is until they start forcing all of us to buy Kia Rio with no airbag nobody should complain abeg.
What about the N10B buses ordered from China by Nigeria Labour congress are they going to be fitted with air bags? Our porthole filled roads need airbags.

Manufacturing sector collapsed when neither Buhari nor IBB supported the local industries in places like Aba and Onitsha. The refused direct govt patronage in the name of importing quality finished goods.
Like someone mentioned earlier, AK 47 assault riffle is simplar and better than M16 that is constantly jamming and which the Americans have spent so much trying to improve. The US govt would rather and continues to patronise the M16 than buy AK 47 from Russia.

The new low/medium scale industrial base in Nigeria will be Ondo State if the Govt there continues with the way they are moving.
We must encourage manufacturing and stop awarding Billions to Chinese bus manufacturers whose vehicles cannot meet European standards and are not allowed there, when we have Annamco and Innoson, leyland and PAN should be revived fully.
I think as a guy it is easy to bounce back from a relationship into casual sex stuff.
But into another meaningful relationship? Takes a lot of time to recover mentally. At least for me. . . . probably a few months. I had a really bad breakup in 2009 and it took me like a year to recover mentally. If you invest a lot emotionally into a relationship, it will take some time before you want to go down that route again.
@bolded, you are correct, men seem to rush into casual sex thinking that it will help them to quickly get over being dumped in a relationship that they have invested so much emotions; but it never does.
While a woman feels hearthbroken, men always feel that their ego has being bruised and therefore the feeling of humiliation (is like loosing a conquared territory in a battle) is what leads men into depression. Women dont feel humiliated, they feel insecure and vulnerable by their loss and needs assurance of emotional security from the next guy that is convincing enough to move on.

They feeling of humiliation and bruised ego makes men to have more tendency of doing harm to themselves or even to their partner than women. Thats why you hear more about men shooting their estranged lovers or using 'magun' to trap their women as in some cultures than allow her to disgress him.
Men see being dumped by women as a form of humiliation and it gets them mentally more distabilised than women and therefore women may recover faster sometimes than men after a breakup.

The topic is about absorbing Biafran Scientists. Pls stick to the issue and stop derailing every thread. Even after the war, the ex-Biafrans despite their loss still tried to produce what many Nigerians who produce absolutely nothing but depend entirely on oil money from the Niger Delta termed substandard products and many Nigerians out of sentiment labeled it Aba- made to discourage patronage while opting for substandard goods that are below Aba standard from Taiwan. Its not about Igbos its about Nigerians.

The fact is that on a national scale, the opposition have not been able to unite to fight the much maligned PDP led by Obasanjo (most detribalised Yoruba leader).

There seems to be a conspiracy here, just like happened in Russia last year where the airport crew gave a wrong information to the aircraft conveying the Polish president and his ministers and got them 'eliminated' I hope we are not getting to that with the desperation for power in our system.
Govt should be made constitutionally unattractive to politicians with embedded checks and balances, such that a State Gov or President will not single handedly control the entire budgets of the country.
Politics › Re: Kanu Asks Fg To Absorb Biafran Scientists by Guyman02: 6:22pm On Mar 09, 2011
It is sad that tribal and religious sentiments did not allow the country to make use of their talents after the war. I remember the efforts of General Ogbemudia who tried to collect the manuscripts from the Biafran scientists and replicate the American tactics of using German scientists after WW II to achieve great inventions.
His boss then, General Bisala collected most of the manuscripts and set it ablaze with a rider, that this is what those fools used in prolonging the war. Unfortunately Gen Bisala was executed for the murder of Gen Murtala who incidentaly led the massacre of a generation of young men in Asaba during the civil war.
We can only move forward when we start removing tribal and religious sentiment from our system, thats why PDP stands the best chance of winning the next presidential election because it is a party with the best national spread, others are either regional or ethnically based and the opposition is struggling to come together with Maigaskia in the North and Asiwaju in the SouthWest holding strongly to their power bases.

All hope is not lost. Ndigbo need to support Buhari in 2011 elections,
-Lest support and elect Buhari to put a stop on massive PDP corruption.
What did Ndigbo benefit during his term as military head of state? What did Ndigbo benefit during his term as PTF chairman when he controlled excess crude account and used it to build roads and infrastucture in the North and that accounts for his popularity over there and left SE with not even a single Federal road. Name any infrastructure built by Buhari in the SE through PTF or as head of state.

Today SE has got an international airport from whence the leader dim Ojukwu was flown symbolically (though sick) straight to the UK and an Igboman is the current COAS after 40 years. Though, this gestures might look small but it impacts on the confidence of the Igbo people.

The Igboman in Rivers or Delta State can today tell you that he is an Igboman which they have denied for several years rather calling themselves Asaba man or Echie man or Agbo man, so that the Northerners will not deny them of appointments in Govt because of their tribal affiliations or the Yoruba man calling them omo inna or omoibo and keep them at bay.

JK Randle spent his time imagining how a small Omo tani (small boy BRF) should boldly look him in the face and tell him that his house is built on a sewage line causing floodind in his street and all efforts to see BRF to discuss the matter personally has failed and was asking what it takes and who should be entitled to see the Gov. The world has seen over and over again that the problem of Nigeria is bribery and corruption instituted by past rulers, majority of which hail from yoruba and hausa.

Whether u said it or not, u guz hv wasted 50 yrs and nothing to show for it; isn't hi time you trusted those whom God has naturally/graciously bestowed your very own salvation in their hands - NDI-IGBO!
Prof Ralph Uwechue (Igbo from Delta State) is not daft for leading Ohaneze to support GEJ. SE is happy that the era of suspicion built into the relationship between Ndigbo and old SE now South-South is being broken.

The North imposed the abandoned property dichotomy in Portharcourt to create enmity between the people. Carved out oil producing areas in Igboland into South South and renamed many of the areas from Obigbo to Oyigbo, Umuokoro to Rumuokoro etc.

The Igbos are using the present opportunity to unite gradually with their brothers in the South South with whom they share the same culture. After experiencing exploitation and marginisation for several years which the SS minorities erroneously blamed on the Igbos suffering from the effects of a cruel civil war, they SS people later realised that Ojukwu was correct when he tried to create Biafra republic and they new generation of youths took up arms, which has metamophosed into a GEJ presdency.

The SE needs to create a robust economy with their God given talents and strategise afresh on how to get back fully into the scheme of things in the political relm of the country and realise that they can build a better political partnership with the SS than the Hausa and Yoruba who have tried to make them irrelevant over the years.
SE doesnt need a vice presidential slot at this time, they should use this window period to reflect on what may have led to their present predicament and request from GEJ to have more Federal presence in the SE and SS just like we have in the SW and North since Govt is the biggest industry in Nigeria and that will greatly reduce the emigration of the people to other states, instead there will be a reversal where Hausas and Yorubas who make up the bulk of the Federal services will be posted to Abakaliki and Uyo and not to Lagos and Kaduna.

The struggle for an equal number of states for each zone in the country should be pursued with vigour at this time, because we are collectively cheating the SE zone as a country with 5 states while others have 6 each.

My only concern about Buhari is that I have not seen prominent Northerners giving him open support apart from the Talakawa and Almajiris who keep shouting mai gaskiya, mai gaskiya!. meaning 'a man of truth and principles'.
The belief is that if he gets into power many corrupt politicians in the country will end up in jail like Thief Bode George and thats why people like Adamu Ciroma will rather insist on having an Atiku Abubakar as Northern presidential candidate than Buhari.

The bomb blast is absolutely unnecessary, killing vegetable sellers in Suleja trying to eke out a living for themselves, perhaps the perpetrators want to start a revolution in Nigeria like Tunisia and the Arab world where a vegetable seller who set himself ablaze has led to the collapse of many Govts and a change of the leadership process in many Middle East nations.

The Senate after overseeing the depletion of the ECA has decided to stop further withdrawals when there is almost nothing left to withdraw.
Afterall they are celebrating the release of Thief Bode George who was a beneficiary from the ECA during his tenure at NPA, where funds meant for upgrading the ports were withdrawn from the ECA and diverted, and then GEJ came and cleared the balance.
naija we hail thee!!!
