Try a little more... Address the concerns you know now and correct all reasons for refusal.... It could be worth the wait after all.

let him make swear an affidavit of sponsor at any court of law. which will include how much he plans to give you yearly and reason why he decides to sponsor a distant family like you.
you have to be very careful when typing the affidavit and make it convincing that no matter what finacialy sutuiation he finds himsefl he wont back up from sponsoring you .

where u called for medical or u doing upfront, if u were called for medical by d CIC dere is alway a med form attach to it along side ur bio data pp stamp wit dere stamp, but if u are running upfront med den go to d clinic wit ur international passport and 1or 2passports dey will gv u e med form

i have a question, my sponsor gave me a bank statement that ends in october, can i use the statement to apply now(in dec). Inflow and outflow over 100m , with closing balance of 2mplus, do i stand a chance?

Also, as an additional asset document a letter of fixed deposit to be matured three months after school resumes was to given me, how can i use this in my favour?

Apply with the renewed passport and attach the visa and stamped pages of the old passport for reference purposes.

Please I advice you always be clear with your questions for clear advice/suggestions.

If you have applied for visa, why not wait for CIC to request for your renewed passport so that you will properly address the passport to them as I don't want you to clog their duties. If it is CIC that requested for your passport, then the passport must be sent via vfs Lagos. But any form of email enquiry should be addressed to CIC Accra, Ghana as they are the one processing study permit application of Nigerians.

Mikymiko:
1. You will have a new passport number and the old passport number will also appear.
2. You should address it to Ghana.
