Christianity EtcRev. Dr. Chidi Okoroafor Suspended By Assemblies Of God Over Sexual Immorality by Guzel(op):
The Assemblies of God Church Nigeria has suspended and dismissed its General Superintendent, Rev. Dr Chidi Okoroafor.
Okoroafor was dismissed as a Minister after the leadership of the church considered a report of his alleged immoral relationship with a United States, US, based woman, Mrs Maurrissal Nwosu.

His dismissal was announced during the church’s General Committee emergency sitting yesterday.
The Panel which Investigated Okoroafor was headed by a former Lagos District Superintendent, Rev Isaac Mpamugo.

The Mpamugo-led panel was said to have established an immoral relationship between Okoroafor and Nwosu which it said was contrary to Biblical principles and the Constitution and Bye-Laws of Assemblies of God Nigeria.

The Executive Committee of the church also ordered him to hand over all Assemblies of God properties in his possession.
A top member of the church who confirmed the development to DAILY POST, however, claimed that Okoroafor was not given a fair hearing.

“Yes, our boss, the GS has been suspended, though he was not given fair hearing, even the woman at the centre of it all was not invited. But he has accepted it, he has handed everything to God,” he said in confidence.

Following Okoroafor’s dismissal, the church has empowered Rev Ejikeme EJim to take over as Acting General Superintendent.
Recall that the church has been under crisis for many years now, during which a former General Superintendent, Rev. Prof. Paul Emeka was chased out of its national secretariat in Enugu

PoliticsPDP Member Mkpa Appointed Chair Of Abia State Electoral Body, Opposition Objects by Guzel(op): 3:00pm On Mar 07, 2020
Based on the information made available to AFNews and signed by the Chief of Staff to Abia State Governor, the Governor has approved the appointment of Prof. Mkpa Agu Mkpa as chairman, Abia State Independent Electoral Commission (ABSIEC).

This appointment follows the approval of government to conduct Local Government Election in Abia State which was earlier published by AFNews:
Prof. Mkpa Agu Mkpa was a former Vice Chancellor of Abia State University and has also held several positions in Abia State Government. He served as the commissioner for education and Secretary to the state government under Governor TA orji who was recently accused of looting the state.
Consequently the name of Prof Mkpa Agu Mkpa has been forwarded to the Abia State House of Assembly for confirmation as required by extant laws.

In a swift reaction, other political parties seems not to be comfortable with the appointment as they described Prof Mkpa as a registered PDP member who they claim will be biased during the conduct of the election.

They called on the government to reverse it decision and look for an unbiased umpire to chairman the commission.

Appears you've been away from the country or perhaps you've been skipping the news each time the government made it known that as employers of labour they would determine payment schemes and the IPPIS would be the way to go.
This is government work not private business. Government is you and I. There are stakeholders that constitutes the education system. Government alone cannot determine everything. ASUU haf made perculiar demands to Government about this Ippis thing since 2013 which the Govt is yet to address.
This is a union o intellectuals and should be carried along

CareerLecturers Without IPPIS Won’t Get February Salary- FG by Guzel(op): 7:58pm On Mar 05, 2020
By Kolade Adeyemi, Kano

The Federal Government has declared lecturers yet to be captured in the newly introduced Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System(IPPIS) won’t be paid February salary.

It also disclosed that about 55 percent members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has so far registered in IPPIS.

The Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Hajiya Zainab Ahmed stated these while addressing reporters at the opening of the 2020 Management Retreat for Treasury Directors of Finance and Directors of Internal Audit in Kano on Thursday.

“Unfortunately most reforms that you undertake you come across resistance. We have had resistance from ASUU on the implementation of the IPPIS and I am happy to report that at least up to 55 percent of ASUU members are registered and the ones that are not are not getting their February salary,” the minister declared.
Speaking on the need for the IPPIS system, the minister said it has helped in identifying over 70,000 ghost workers in the Federal civil service and is hoping to make the system free of ghost workers in future.

“It is in eliminating ghost workers because you register on the IPPIS using biometrics and we are currently working with the office of the head of service to link up the IPPIS HR management module with the payroll itself. It will help us better maximise the efficiency of the system.

“I know that we have up to 70,000 ghost workers that have been identified in this process and we hope that we will come to a time when we will say that we have no ghost workers,” she stated.

This is the situation here in the University of Jos.
Universities are using different terms to describe this criminal act. The bursary units in schools are in the dark as per this nonsense hence the use of chilling terms to calm their staff.

They didn’t include EA oh. Infact, ASUU national delegates attended our congress yesterday. They gave buhari 6 weeks to resolve and pay the EA or face strike.

But seriously how can a lecturer be running more than 1 school whn we have too much unemployed graduates... It's unfair
My dear, it’s legal to have a full time and one on part time. One lecturer operates on full time in two universities. The issue is that most of you can’t differentiate ASUU from university management. ASSU is simply protecting the interests of the members according to laid down rules. Management employs etc

Dear Comrade
Once again the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Mohammadu Buhari has extended one month grace that the Minister of Finance should release money to the Universities for the last time for staff salaries to be paid on GIFMIS by University busars.

This was disclosed by the national president of SSANU at the ongoing SSANU NEC at Fed University of technology Owerri, Imo State.

This is to allow Accountant General of the Federation to perfect the process of IPPIS payment to avoid unnecessary mistakes.

IPPIS shall therefore be implemented as from Fed 2020
Cover up. From their memo to the hon minister of finance, they said they are ready to pay from ippis. If there are mistakes as they claim, this supports ASUU claim that the template is fraught with errors that could take 6 months to rectify for individual staff.

Quit the job and allow people who are ready to enrol in IPPIS and work take over. It's that simple.
Unfortunately, the university system shouldn’t be for folks who don’t know their rights. When you get into the system (if at all you will) you will understand our demands. For now keep quiet and watch the clash of the titans.
