Politics / Borishade Is Indispensible by gwatala(m): 7:57pm On Nov 06, 2006
Or how else can you say why someone so inept has been left in the cabinet for so long. I want to compile signatures - a thousand in the least - to urge (no, prod) this man out of government. Either by sack or by resignation.

Lend a Voice. Sign the online petition, which is going to be sent to the Media: http://www.petitiononline.com/borish2/petition.html

Foreign Affairs / Re: Saddam Hussein Sentenced To Death By Hanging by gwatala(m): 5:00pm On Nov 06, 2006
Almost everyone here is rejoicing. "Saddam deserves it, etc". Fair enough(?) What of George Bush, and the irrational hawks of the American government who have committed more human right abuses than Saddam has, and are still protected by the sovereignity of the American government? Think.

By the way, Death Sentence is never a deterrent. And in this case, it is mostly political. Might is right. Isn't it?

Politics / Re: Why Is Nigeria Not Working? by gwatala(m): 1:32pm On Nov 02, 2006
Please let us kick Borishad out before he ruins the country:

These are my reasons why Borishade should (be made to) go now:

For a Minister, he does not take responsibilities. Look where he placed the blames for this latest crash: not anywhere the minstry. This same man almost paralysed the Education sector while he was minster of Education in the year 2003.

Are we really ready to keep in the cabinet of Obasanjo? Some say this petition may not help. I believe that it will. The last protest by parents of another crash under his adminstration was met by brutal force by the Nigerian police. Are we ready to be gagged?

Is Borishade really indispensible in this governement? Can we make him go? I would give a YES to the last question. What about you?

Pls add your name to a petition: http://www.petitiononline.com/borisha/petition.html

Poems For Review / Re: Call it whatever! by gwatala(m): 12:20pm On Nov 02, 2006
A Price Indeed

All these known, having tried, having paid more than twice over
Long to strive for a space known, needed, but often beyond reach.
Losing too, I did, long before able to know why parents so preach
and yet balk at the moment when their strengths be all to lever.

If there be hope, these eyes search too in vain
because day by day it pares off in thick weals of pain.

Poems For Review / Re: Call it whatever! by gwatala(m): 1:16pm On Nov 01, 2006
RN never stopped broadcasting, I think,
chatting on even in solo nights
And AMC never left the signal, I think,
though it often beeped static lights

M A stars faded off on helpless dreams;
D-man drawling in his own solo space,
And there he will be/rot since now it seems
None knows nor helps his own disgrace.

Ah, now I know. I think I knew about this.

One day we should really compile these poems, maybe for performance (What do you think Somegirl?), or for publishing. I still think highly of that earlier collection "Drawing, line, "

gwatala:

I ask why you write. i.e. What is your immediate motivation for those two last poems. My (former) blogger profile? Recent conversations? Stray thoughts? or just the almighty muse in its recurrent mischief?

The above is my latest question to you Somegirl.

But if you talk about something, then it is an opinion. An informed opinion backed by reality.

I'm kidding about the autobiography part. I aint got the computer to even write the shortest line. And you know my aversion to handwriting in such a case.

Well, shit happens. All these reminisences are threatening to run me nuts.

I get it, and that's why I ask. I gotta go now. Wanna start my own autobiography grin
