Car TalkThis Tiny Car For Wheelchair Users Costs 9 Million Naira by H100(op): 2:11pm On Aug 03, 2019
The tiny car designed for wheelchairs users is over 9 million naira($25,000) - Onegoodhead

Sincerely, so many disabled are completely cut off from the world because of mobility issues and end up having human contact only when people come to them or online, so this would be Ingenious and big win for handicapped  needing a wheelchair. Unfortunately, the vehicle has limited capabilities. It wouldn’t be compatible with a Midwest or Northeastern Winter unless the wheels could be swapped out for lunar style tracks, and a weight stack supplemented for additional traction

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vsJt6ivnzZA

Every wheelchair user will be extremely glad just to see the auto manufacturers offer a replaceable steering wheel that houses the break and acceleration features using today's drive by wire technology.

This is nonetheless a great idea and very cute but, it doesn't seem to have the same capacity for vehicle safety that's mandated by DOT. For front, rear or side crashes, someone in a wheel chair would have a much higher risk for fatality. The manufacturer has take it upon themselves to take it to the next level for safety.

Nevertheless, If this is compared to today's electric mobility scooters, it looks like a big improvement. It keeps you out the weather, goes fast enough to keep up with traffic and you are in a position that means you don't feel too vulnerable on the road.

$25000 for a car with no storage that looks like half a fiat 500 and looks as high risk as a smart car. Does it have front or side impact protection? disabled people often are poor and this is possibly overpriced for the cohort of people who is is meant to help. Although it is a good idea in principle and looks very sweet, I have to say that this is not in my opinion a viable option for many underprivileged people with mobility issues sadly.

As for onegoodhead.com, "It is good", It could be better, this looks degrading than helpful in comparison to what is already available. People shouldn't be loaded into the back of a car like a horse. Plus anything bigger than a skip is a threat to the existence of that vehicle and anyone in it. The practicality of it seems flawed, the idea is creative. but I don’t think anyone could justify paying $25k+ for something that has a top speed of 28 mph on public roads with 68 miles of charge and no room for groceries/passengers...

CareerWhen Doing It For Yourself Versus Doing It For Others Approval by H100(op):
- Onegoodhead and thoughts

Now i ask, Are You Doing it for Yourself or Doing it for Others ?

– In Gary Vaynerchuk’s words, “When doing it for yourself, there is no rush. The timeline isn’t urgent because you love the process.

When you do it for others approval or acceptance, the timeline is always too close and right in your face.”

Timelines are essential, be it for anyone. Without timelines there could be unnecessary waste of time & time is money.

Stop copying other people's post without giving them credit for their work. Its stealing, and it makes you a thief.

These tips were researched by somebody's company painstakingly, and the information posted freely on LinkedIn, but you will copy and paste here, without giving them credit for their work.

I know its a helpful material worth sharing, same with others you have shared in the past which you stole from her, but give her credit.

STOP STEALING KRISTY BONNER'S POST from LinkedIn and posting here without giving her credit, even though she's on another continent. Let others know your source.

Just an advice.
I would have appreciated your advice if you read the complete post and still have this to say. the blog post has due credit to whatever work copied and that is the essence of referencing.

Jobs/VacanciesCommon But Costing Mistakes Of Job Seekers by H100(op): 11:23pm On Aug 01, 2019
Talking about the mistakes to avoid when searching for Job is all about proving your worth and working to earn the position, rather than waiting for an opportunity to fall on our lap.Be consistent, persistent and take a targeted approach. You may land a job shotgunning your resume everywhere, but doubt you will find happiness and career fulfillment.

Get yourself a strategy to look for a job. Are you applying both online and to recruiters? Keep notes of where you have applied and when. How well structured is your CV? So many of the points above refer to the content and format of the CV. Spend time on this. It’s critical. Always remember ATS.

What are the common mistakes of Job Seekers?

No daily 9-6 Job Search routine.

Job searching should be treated as a job and should be managed on a 9am to 5pm routine, Not asking you to use all the hours to search for a job, she is merely proposing that you position yourself strategically at time for opportunity to either tell others, check online and even network as regards your job search.

Plan it. Schedule it like it is your job until you have a job. there are some days when lots of postings come out, other days are slow. Focused searching/sending in mornings with phone calls/interviews as required. The rest of the day can be used to keep up on training/reading (PMP credits). Exercising or doing things on the giant To-do list for home.

– Searching Alone

Gaining help from other people could make your job search more efficient, more successful and less stressful.

– Non-ATS compliant CV/Resume.
( See Compliant Sample) Someone may say hey, forget that ATS stuff, they are the equivalent of black holes that gets nobody nowhere. but if you must know that whatever is worth doing is worth doing well

– CV/Resumes sent via email without Cover Email.
– CV/Resume lacks clear direction.
– Indeed, LinkedIn Profile is incomplete and lacks a summary plus Nairaland and other forum or blog comments lack seriousness
– CV/Resume and Platform Profiles are not aligned.

– Unfocused networking and Application.

Eg. If looking for role in construction, don’t waste time sending your CV/Resume to bankers. thoughts on job seekers sending 5 resumes for different jobs within same company? ..they’ll be flagged!! Unless, skills are transferable, but not back to back resumes guys!

– No contact with recruiters.
Some applicants respond to emails from recruiters terribly late, sometimes, after over a year. Then they are surprised when the job has been filled. You have to participate in the process.

FamilyWhat Is The Right Age Or Time To Get Life Entirely Figured Out? by H100(op): 2:06pm On Aug 01, 2019
- One Good Head and Thoughts

At what age do we figure out life?
– So many people think that by some age .. 18, 22, 30, that they have to have their lives ” figured out.” but you can’t define anything with your age, Imagine how boring life would be if it were predictable, People need to change their mindsets towards “figuring out” and stop confusing it with “indecisiveness”.

Does the term “figure out life” have a perfect timing?

– Makes no sense. Figuring it out is a forever game – it never ends and it constantly changes depending on the circumstances at hand! It’s not about figuring out who you are….it’s about the journey. Enjoy the journey, and always be striving to better your life. Move the ceiling higher.

Show me someone who has it all figured out, and then show me someone who does not, I do not believe we will find much difference. That’s why poker is such as great game – we all know the odds but cannot predict the outcomes (we are humans around other humans who live next to other humans).

It does make me laugh, when people have it in their head that by x age they must accomplish xyz…. in my experience life doesn’t work that way… curve balls appear and random situations take over that can steer us off track and it can take a time to get back on track…and really who care ab out age? Like Oprah says ‘why would we allow numbers to define us?’

How to find your purpose and passion in life
Self-audit is the single most powerful trait anyone needs in order pivot towards success. Uncover those strengths & then go out there and crush it with those natural abilities. Decipher what those weaknesses mean, and figure out contexts in our your own life to turn them into strengths.

People think conditions have to be right to make a change, change is gradual or abrupt, it’s you who chooses which. It won’t be better, easier or perfect when x, y or z is in place. Stop making excuses and start taking steps in the right direction. Nowadays how people figure it is based on the car you drive, company or position. Seems like as humans, we are running without a proper direction in other word living a life for someone else but mind you, It’s you and no one else!...truncated..

Jobs/VacanciesWhat To Do When You Get Ghosted By A Potential Employer by H100(op): 6:44am On Jul 30, 2019
- Onegoodhead

Not seeing results? Feel like giving up?

Consider this - The last thing that grows on a tree is the fruit.

Post interview recruiter and HR ghosting is the RULE, not an exception. If you’ve followed up and haven’t heard anything after a week. the truth is ‘‘you didn’t get the job”.

Unfortunately, these stories reoccur often. Over 35% of job seekers say they were rejected from a gig by never actually getting any feedback at all, i have taken time to write and discuss a lot of these scenarios below

Steps to Take when Ghosted by a Potential Employer

1. Don’t take it personally! (I know it’s hard not to, but you have no idea what’s happening)

Whatever the issue – the negative thoughts only make the situation more solidified. If you work hard to have the right mindset, that this is the story you will tell when you overcome it – you will be able to put all that negative energy into good planning. Maybe they did just blow you off, but getting bitter about it won’t serve you! Move onto the next.

2. Make sure you have taken reasonable actions to follow up.
(If you haven’t gotten interviewed yet, use LinkedIn and any networking means to find out who the hiring manager is and contact that person via email, phone, or direct message. If you have, you know their contact info.)

3. Remember, if they didn’t select you, it’s “their” loss. (If you know thyself though)

4. Leave accurate, anonymous, critical feedback about your candidate Experience on their company page of Glassdoor.com and Indeed.com or anywhere available like Nairaland for Africans to enlighten hopefuls.

5. Be classy! Treat them the way you would want to be treated if you made a mistake. Be factual and don’t write angry. After enough negative feedback on their public review page, they may improve the candidate experience.

Jobs/VacanciesTop 10 Simple Tips On Successfully Having A Phone Interview by H100(op): 6:30am On Jul 30, 2019
- Onegoodhead.com

Now, Before listing the and farther discussing the 10 basic essentials of a telephonic or a phone job interview, Like onegoodhead does, We all already know that phone interviews are a lot tough to face and crack. All you got is your voice and words, most of the phone interviews last to about 30-45 minutes where mostly you would be speaking to the interviewer.

Be online/available at least 10 minutes prior to the call. have fun, don’t be timid. It shows off during interview. Visualize that you are actually speaking in the eye of the interviewer… have conversations. joke around but to the extent. Feel the air, Make sure your phone battery is considerably charged to take you through the session of the interview.

1. Get dressed as if going to an in-person Interview. Why? It creates professional attitude and mindset.
2. Don’t slouch on the couch. Chair and table/desk or stand and pace. Standing promotes voice projection.
3. Quiet room; no interruptions.
4. Wear earphones or pods to eliminate background noise.
5. Silence all other notifications on your phone and laptop (if open).
6. Laptop, pen and paper, and a copy of your CV/Resume. (See how to ready your CV on onegoodhead.com)
7.
Have written prompts ready, especially for the questions that you wish to ask.
8. Answer the phone correctly. eg. “Good morning/afternoon. This is FULL NAME speaking.”
9. If it’s a phone panel interview, you need to attach voice to name very quickly. Write the names down and use them when you address each interviewer.(Ask competency based questions and make the interviewee relax please)
10. Thank the interviewer(s) for their time at the end of the call. Send a follow-up “Thank you” email with 6-8 hours or a day following the interview. (That’s when you come to know the real attitude & response of the recruiter or HR.)

Hiring managers do look out for Leaders who can go above and beyond, just like when you buy any service you would try to get the best your budget permits.

All other interview protocol and prep as stated below applies

EducationRe: Would You Score Your Students 39 And 69 Or Would You Add 1 To The Score? by H100(op): 2:12pm On Jul 29, 2019

You are a ipocrite. In the school I attended you rarely see 69 as its rounded up to 70.

Op you go stingy walai.
EducationWould You Score Your Students 39 And 69 Or Would You Add 1 To The Score? by H100(op): 9:18am On Jul 29, 2019
Adding (+1) Mark, The Conscientious Marking Task Teachers Face.

On a very lighter note, as a teacher, would you score your student 69 or add 1 to the score? Ditto for 39!
If no, why?

- Assessment is meant to be an objective process, the human behind the process makes it largely subjective.

Someone said a student that scored 69 is as good as the one that scored 70, really? Also consider the impact of the above on the CGPA of the student:

NB: 60 - 69 is B
70 - 100 is A
39 is F
40 is pass

A teacher could feel 69 can be left without a 1 added, if in truth it doesn’t earn a 1 mark more. This is because of the purpose of assessment. It’s meant to reflect the TRUE ability of a student. It’s important that the student understands that he is a B student, and needs to work harder to become an A, than to dance and rejoice in the euphoria of a grade he didn’t earn, which can make him relax and even score much more less in the next assessment process.

For a 39 score, there can be a lot of subjectivity in place. If the teacher is aware of the efforts the student has put in place to get to that point, there might be a reconsideration. An additional mark to keep the students’ hopes up might be needed, especially for motivation and positive reinforcement. For this option, the teacher needs to clearly know where the student is coming from, and also understand the challenges.

If a student scores a 69, he/she has passed. It's not the same as a 39, for which he/she fails. some teachers may or may not even bother with the 69; However, if the student had had a perfect score up until that point, and that would ruin his/her chances, giving a +1 mark could be highly considered. Again, it depends the individual's(marker) respective values.

Jobs/Vacancies14 Things You Shouldn't Forget when Getting Set For A Live Video Interview by H100(op): 10:17pm On Jul 27, 2019
Not only for job seekers but also for any business/official meeting, other than the CV part. Take up these 14 notes before commencing a skype interview, zoom or which-soever that demands a live video interaction, ensure you get them covered and, you’re right at the top of the consideration list. This List was compiled from a professional HR.

DON’T forget to:

Test audio and camera.
Elevate your laptop to avoid staring down into the camera.
Dress professionally from at least the waist up.
Position yourself at a desk or table, against a plain, neutral background( best to be recorded behind a white wall so the video won’t look cluttered).
Check the lighting in the room.
Close all other applications on your laptop.
Silence your cell phone, and disable vibration alert.
Have a copy of your CV/Resume at hand. (see how to prepare your CV below)
Attach post - its around the laptop screen with prompts, and the questions you wish to ask the interviewer.
Ban kids, pets and spouses from the room for the duration of the interview.
Have pen and paper at hand.
Have a glass of water next to you.
Always be careful of facial expressions we sometimes don’t realize(be cognizant of hand gestures as well). Read this article on improving calmness
Check the power connections/backups of your laptop computer and mobile phone (Having an alternate internet connection sorted i.e a ready dedicated mobile hotspot internet connection in case of the primary internet connection glitches-up)

And….

Don’t forget to talk into the camera, not into the screen! Have verified a telephone number of your interviewer beforehand in case the power is off or you may experience loss of net signal? You may continue your interview by phone if anything goes wrong during the call. It’s easy to get excited and forget to ask for a phone number, We panic, we feel lost and devastated, anxious if they ever call back, seconds are ticking, we check our equipment again and again…and if we are lucky enough and they call back we appear to be out of focus, see how to get things click immediately

Obviously you will have prepped ahead of time; will know your transferable skills; will have practiced C.A.R. and C.A.R.L. technique and competency-based sample questions.

You will have thoroughly researched the company, know who the interviewer is, and will have prepared 3 questions to ask that person.

What does C.A.R and C.A.R.L mean ? how does a fresher arrange CV?
You will definitely find this post resourceful.

CareerIs It Too Hard to Cope With Pregnancy Or Pregnant Employees In Your Workplace? by H100(op): 2:33pm On Jul 27, 2019
i must first say that the overall impression shared among company hierarchies is; If any employee is unable to perform the duties of their job, they should be terminated regardless of circumstances. Business is business.

– Firms are trying so hard to stay afloat amidst fierce economic pressure. Hubs are closing down and business owners are trying to survive too. but if someone passes on for instance, will the organisation go down the drain? sure the the answer is NO!!!, Empathy should be first priority for businesses. It’s both the employees and the employers that drive companies forward.

Yes, It is a sensitive situation and there are a lot of facts that one may probably miss out. The burden of proof will therefore always be with the employers to determine if discrimination against a pregnant woman took place. Some inhumane stories of promotion being withheld because pregnant employees were out for few months on maternity leave may not justify the proof even

Here are dissatisfying stories and examples of pregnancy discrimination in workplace that stirred up this blog post.

Story 1 of 5

I went for an interview in a school and the school owner was asking me … How serious is my relationship since am single? Am I getting married or pregnant anytime soonhuh Oh my goodness!!! I told her ma!!! These are Personal questions. I later got employed, immediately a colleague became visibly pregnant, she was sacked !

Story 2 of 5 examples of pregnancy discrimination in workplace

My cousin was fired last year March.
I don’t like to talk about this but I will for one reason, ”pregnancy”
Being her first pregnancy, she was finding it difficult to adjust to the activities at work.
Her boss complained several times but she pleaded for more time to make amendments.
Her boss got fed up as she wasn’t really effective and it was affecting the company’s productivity.
Few weeks after, she was booted out and compensated.
Although her boss said it wasn’t because of her present state.
He said it was purely for business reasons and the decision was made by the board.
She became depressed. Thanks to her wonderful husband who stood by her.
Who knows what might have happened to her or the unborn child?
She gave birth to a bouncing baby boy, and also got a new job last month.

All these are discrimination, without any doubt. In France, you simply can’t fire someone during the stage of pregnancy, it’s in the law! We are not robots, we are humans, and sometimes I wonder if CEOs or whoever runs a company remember what it is, a human being

The work environment shouldn’t continue to discriminate against women by virtue of their reproductive tendencies. Being pregnant does not stop you from being effective, These are seemingly little but mighty factors that should be addressed in order to combat the wide spread low socio-economic status among women and the feminization of poverty.

To be fair, some business owners have and show empathy for their employees. Unfortunately, sometimes, the problem is not always with employers or ‘the board’, the problem could be with Managers and those who play to the gallery to/and hamper other manager’s efforts in creating the employee-centrist culture, with this exceptional story below, you may want to agree with me.

Agree it’s a challenge but being honest and impartial, i can see both sides of every of these 5 stories. business don’t stop just because one is pregnant and most businesses are very compassionate. I urge woman to look for career opportunities that will align with your family future goals as well.

CareerTop 5 Ways To Help Build Up Your Self Respect At Work by H100(op): 1:47pm On Jul 26, 2019
Respect : a feeling of deep admiration for someone or something elicited by their abilities, qualities, or achievements.

Respect for others and towards own self is gradually been erased in this modern lifestyle. I think respect should be key part of each society. Respect for each other tastes, preferences, choices. Many people fail to realize that we have to respect all including cleaners, cooks, waiters, drivers, gatekeepers , gardeners etc, for us to truly earn respect. I have a couple of real life stories about this down this post

Treating others with respect shows at the first place who you are. Showing respect for someone means showing admiration to the person. Respect is the highest ethical degree for human communication.

Yes, but don’t confuse respect and politeness with letting them take advantage of you. Stand your ground! Respect and Trust are always earned by extending them to others!

No matter your age, experience and status, if you are someone who respects others out of habit more opportunities open up for people and what’s more? You start a chain of maturity. Because respectfulness is contagious

Dear Bosses: There is so much respect in getting credit alerts as at when due too. It is inspiring and motivating. No one is due respect because of their title or because they say so. You earn respect and it is earned by treating others the way you would want to be treated as the old saying goes. You get back what you give.

You may want to disagree. saying this works well in theory, In some view, It is more complicated way to earn respect to act like you share your sympathy with themselves. People treat their own motivation as the no.1 need. You may respect others, but if you failed to identify their goals, they will think that you misjudge this ability’s meaning.

But Agree Manners cost nothing! They go hand in hand with being respectful with this and don’t forget about self respect too. As the saying goes, who goes comes around. There are some things money cannot buy among them is respect.

It’s time to ask your heart to make some room and start wearing your self-respect on your sleeve too.

Here are my personal top 5 ways to help build up the respect in yourself.

1 – Don’t let other people’s opinions affect you

2 – Always stick to your own moral codes

3 – Never speak negatively about yourself

4 – Increase your knowledge

5 – Always keep your promises

For me personally, I think it’s difficult to show respect to others if you are lacking self-respect.

Learning about self-respect is understanding that you are no less than anyone else and you too are worthy of love and respect.

Self respect and love to one’s self is the basic component for self esteem. You can’t give love and respect to others if you don’t know how to love and respect yourself. It is important to not confuse self love and self respect with narcissism and ego-centrism.

You may want to add 6, 7, 8 as i have explained in the blog post …. which definitely include minding your business, cutting your coat with what’s available to you

Jobs/VacanciesIsn't This The Best Answer On Why You’re Leaving Your Current Workplace? by H100(op): 9:23am On Jul 25, 2019
As in other recruitment huddles, this also depends, maybe on internal versus agency recruiter. And if the person was applying versus having been approached. There’s actually never a black and white answer to this. Let’s think it forward

Here is a popular opinion on what the response should be.

Recruiter asks you: why are you leaving your current company?

Popular Opinion: “I am very interested in joining yours.

This is in quest to make it positive about the new employer rather than negative about the former which isn’t all that a bad idea to do.

Whether you are making a sales pitch, or in an interview, or writing a personal ad – always talk about what you like, not what you don’t.

The truth is you have to promote what you love instead of bashing what you hate which we all agree to.

But here is a response from an experienced recruiter i prompted on if this response is good to go.

Having spent many years in recruitment (both agency and internal) anyone who answered the question that way (i.e. avoiding the question) would make me think they had something to hide. Sure talk about why you want to join a company but there is always a reason you are looking for another role and you should be honest about what that is, in a diplomatic way of course. Also consider that if you don’t tell a future employer about what is making you dissatisfied with your current role/organisation you could well end up at the new company and have the same issues. The interview process is just as much about the employee selecting the employer as vice versa.

80% of employers wouldn’t hire someone who skirt answers. You can give an honest answer and still stay positive. A kind of answer that is reflective of a deep thinker and a problem solver. you can read more via link on blog post

Any employer you’d want to work for should know this. They are looking for how you handle the answer. Dodging the question isn’t handling anything. It’s avoiding.

So what will my response be when i am asked? While it is important to stay positive, I also believe in being open and honest.

For example, I am leaving Company A due to lack in growth opportunities. As an up and coming cloud-based solution provider, I am very interested in your company as I see opportunities to grow in the areas of X, Y, and Z, which fits well with my expertise in A and B, which in turn adds value to your organization because…(return on their investment in me)

Jobs/VacanciesJob Volunteering Tips For Job Seekers by H100(op): 8:28pm On Jul 24, 2019
Never despise the days of your little beginnings no matter how cruel they came. As we walk along the journey of life, let us continue to celebrate little successes and also appreciate how far it's takes us. Add to your work experience by working for yourself to the benefit of others with your zero working experience

Job Volunteering has so far proven to be the most effective way to garner the work experience employers always crave for, this is because these companies need your skills and you need the experience too. Don't sit at home  accumulating years of joblessness, Go out and volunteer

A 4 year degree attained after 7 years is still a degree. A graduation at 50 is still a graduation. A business started at 65 is still a business. You are never too old to have a new dream... It's okay to start over. Don’t let people confine you with their timelines of success, just start somewhere.

When Volunteering, Remember that the day you plant the seed is not the day you eat the fruit. A little patience. Keep going. Don't give up. Your time will surely come. I will discuss what you need to be a volunteer and the tips on how to go about it down this post.

I do not want to talk about the possibility of  retention or recommendation for your service, that's obviously a positive we are aware and sure of.

Come to think of it. Do you know that volunteering experience can actually improve you efficiency when you get a Job with a seemingly hostile Boss? Jobs and salaries are advertised for you to choose, but bosses are not advertised for you to choose. If we assume the statistics, you will agree that some people get the privilege of many interviews with one offer, while only a few get Multiple offers within short period such that the interval is not enough to fully understand your colleagues to reach such a conclusion as 'bad boss'. No matter how devilish a person is, there is someone that acts to his/her style with commendation, and you might be that person. Hearsay can never be trusted. What you have learned over time as a volunteer worker can ease your fears when you get the Job.

You won’t be able to find a good boss until you work with the person long enough to know him/her well.. However, you can control your attitude. If you are at the lowest rank of the organisation and you don’t have a choice but to stay in the organisation, dealing with a “bad boss” is not easy. But having the right attitude, combined with a good skill to handle situations(based on your volunteer time incidences and not taking things personal ), you should be fine. But of course, if you’re looking for progress and you can’t see it with that boss, then you have to take a leap of faith & find the better opportunity where you will grow together as a boss and as an employee.

When you volunteer, have a purpose!

A lot of people want to do good and feel good after it and that’s all. While volunteering might be a good thing, it might also turn out to be beneficial, depending on the reason why it’s done initially.

Many young people who are so energetic jump from one project site to another, accumulating various volunteer titles and losing count on all the teams they are part of. In the end, there’s no significant value added to them.

If you want to derive value from volunteering, then you need to transition to being a purpose-driven volunteer.

What do you need to as a Volunteer? or do we go about it?

Jobs/Vacancies4 Professional Reasons Your CV May Not Get You A Job by H100(op): 9:45am On Jul 23, 2019
Dear Applicants,

I think it all depends on who is looking at your CV and what he or she believes your CV should look like. My advise is to keep it simple and communicate your strength and achievements.

A good grade out of school will place you on high pedestal such that you don’t need to struggle too much to get some opportunities. Please go for it. If you ask me, I would say after school is school. For the ambitious ones that have put in their best, after school:

(1) look for scholarship opportunities to study abroad

(2) look for job opportunities available for you around

Below are 7 reasons your CV isn’t getting you those interviews you so desperately needed.

This should be a guideline in making your CV professional.

1. Please be mindful of your own address. Unless you stay close enough to the company location, Do not add, If for example, you apply to a company in AA and your address states MN(very far from the company), you just reduced your chances if you add your address. Email and phone number is enough. nevertheless based on personal experience, I’ll simply say that the format you decide to adopt is acceptable to some HR /Recruiter and not acceptable to others. I’ve removed and added my address like 3 or 4 times based on recommendations and feedback. A recruiter once called me to add my address and resend my CV.

2. Date of birth, state of origin, gender, nationality, 1st or last born status – all these may not matter at all.

3. Personal objective, career summary, and all that crap. Watch it, many may never read them. Could just be waste of space. However, some school of thought opined that in a sentence or two, one can “succinctly” state who he/she is, what position he/she wants and how would the firm benefit from him/her. CV is the summary of your career. Not a statement. I also had one on my CV for a long time till I started reviewing CVs myself. No one reads it. If you must hype yourself a bit, please sincerely do all that in a 10 word or less pitch of yourself.

4. Unless expressly stated, remove those references. They don’t add anything to your CV.

Christianity EtcExodus 20: Honor–summarizing The 10 Commandments by H100(op): 9:30am On Jul 21, 2019
HONOR is the archetype of all virtue & DISHONOR is the seed of all sin. The 10 Commandments in Exodus 20 could very well be thus summarized:

1. HONOR YAHWEH as THE ONE TRUE GOD

(God is “one” [this “one” in Hebrew is “echad”: compound unity]. Jesus said, “He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him.” )

2. HONOR NATURE

(Honor nature for what it is. Behold the glory of creation in awe, but know it’s only creation & we’re creatures: God is the CREATOR. Do not worship creation, worship the Creator.)

3. HONOR THE LORD’S NAME

(No blasphemy/ Don’t invoke God’s name to justify sin. In denying the conviction of the Spirit to repent from sin and follow Jesus, one commits the unforgivable sin. To deem the Holy Spirit as useless, or a rather bad hindrance to the good pleasures of ones life; to go so far as to consider the Holy Spirit evil, and thus deny Him the fruit of His labor to bring you to repentance, is unforgivable. Cursing Gods name and mocking Christ can be forgiven, but outright and resolutely denying Jesus with no change of mind, is unforgivable. There will be no mercy for you here or in the hereafter. You wanted a life minus Him, and He will grant it to you in the perpetual living death of outer darkness: hell, the trash heap of the cosmos; for He is life and everyone who hates Him loves death. You considered the conviction of the Holy Spirit to be trash but will find yourself upon the stinking, smoldering heap yourself.)

4. HONOR THE HOLY SABBATH

(Honor God’s preeminence as Creator by working 6 days: Sunday – Friday, and resting from dusk Friday-dusk Saturday: not economizing, buying and selling, or even lighting fires and cooking out. To eat foods not requiring cooking or to prepare food ahead of Sabbath is ideal, so that the day may be truly saturated in a divine contemplation and the delight in the community of Christ . Detach from the work-a-day world. Fellowship with a group of Godward minded people. Rejoice in truth together. Rejoice in the greater realities beyond this shadowland, which aren’t money, buying and selling, and rushing about.)

5. HONOR PARENTHOOD

(Honor them as conduits of God’s authority in your life and as life-givers; realize, parenthood is not limited to biological relationship. Someone, somewhere, is serving as a parental influence over you. They might not be perfect, but they should be honored. Every president rules over a nation of familes (families are mini-nations within a nation) and broken families. No nation will rise above the quality of it’s citizens. It is fathers and mothers which preside over the future citizens. If the government of homes (the institution of family), presided over by a mother and father by design, are dishonorable, then that nation as a whole will be dishonorable. The destiny of nations rise and fall over whether parents preside over the small countries in their care well. If they diligently teach their children this law of God, and those children honor it, a nation will be great with good citizens, it’s government lean and strong, and God will be glorified.)

6. HONOR THE SANCTITY OF LIFE

(Do not defile the earth with murder; he who is inclined to shed innocent blood must be blotted out, and those that slay him will be innocent of his blood; do not abort baby’s simply so you may go out and enjoy more sex and more party’s.)

7. HONOR MARRIAGE

(No adultery; no sex before marriage; no homosexuality; no bestiality. In God’s eyes marriage only exists between a male and female in covenant to fidelity before Him; therefore, addressing “gay marriage” is pointless, for it does not exist.)

8. HONOR the PROPERTY OF OTHERS.

(Do not steal. This is also to respect a mans honest work, for the fruits of his labor are his possessions.)

Christianity EtcWhy Does Anger, Hurt, And Sorrow Define Us? by H100(op):
The Nature of Anger and Anger management

Anger is a normal and healthy emotion that people all feel at some point or another, whether it is anger at a loved one over something minuscule, or something that is worthy of anger. It’s also normal to feel anger over what you view as an injustice and what you feel is just wrong. But the problem with anger is this- many people let emotions rule them, including and especially anger. People get angry in traffic, in the grocery store, at video games, over something not going together immediately, and react in ways that are not healthy.

In the home I grew up in, my family would lash out in anger. Screaming and fighting constantly, hitting each other, throwing objects, breaking things, and refusing to sit and talk out why they were angry. Anger ruled my household and affected myself and everyone else in the family in negative ways. Things were said in anger and even abuse occurred because of anger of things not going someone’s way, and was a show of power. Again, anger is a healthy and normal emotion, but there are ways that you can deal with it that are not so healthy and normal, just as there are ways that are healthy to handle anger.

If someone is angry with you, remember to be calm and soft to them. That does not mean to be a doormat, but respond with kindness. A soft answer can soothe wrath and turn it away.

The nature of anger is tricky. Anger, righteous anger, can be used to do so much good; but anger that is based upon biases or prejudices will lead to so much bad. It is a fine line to walk and one that must be walked carefully. For righteous anger, you must be clear headed and able to differentiate between being angry and disgusted by the actions of a person and the person themselves. You’re not going to like everyone, but there is no need to feel hate and desire the oppression of others and push for someone to be hurt or trampled because of your dislike for the sake of anger. It is especially appalling when people feel that way and use religion to encourage such treatment of people when most major religions speak against that very thing. Anger can be righteous but it can also be very damaging. Remember that.

Many people often go through the grieving process when loss occurs in one form or another. The process is a cycle that goes in five steps and they are:

Denial and Isolation
Anger
Bargaining
Depression
Acceptance

These are entirely normal and takes time and patience to reach. People that are going through these emotions may need lots of patience with themselves and others, and the ones trying to help them cope need to be patient with the grieving party as well. And it is the same with sorrow.

EducationDifference Between Vernacular & Pidgin by H100(op): 2:30pm On Jul 18, 2019
In any of code-switching and pidgin, there is no generalized or approved method which is grammatically wrong or correct pattern of writing or speaking them, But there could be argument on whether respective languages when spoken during code-switching should be grammatically correct to enable swift understanding during transition between those dialects being used.

Vernacular which is basically a particular dialect or individual language has its own way and pattern of writing and use.

Differences and Explanation

Code-Switching :

This is an act of going through a conversation using more than one language.

Sometimes this is done to make clarity on a particular word in a seemingly foreign language which could be misunderstood or misinterpreted.

A Spanish switching from English back to spanish to help the listener understand better. This listener could be Mexican, Argentine, Venezuelan, a Puerto Rico person or any spanish speaking person.

Vernacular:

A widely spoken language known to a particular ethnicity, tribe, community, geographical area or race.

This is often one’s original language at birth, Unique to every commoner in that setting with an average fluency of say 70%.

A man from England speaking English speaks vernacular, same applies to an Anambra man speaking Igbo or a Filipino speaking Tagalog, This languages are often taught in schools in these communities to help enhance writing in own language and dialect.

Y'all do know what I think? undecided I am going to reactivate my LinkedIn account whether this post is perceived to have made sense or not.

As for the OP's idea, it seems very practical. I do have a friend who celebrates his friends, great CEO's on LinkedIn and gets active responses from them. My thoughts have always been that the only thing keeping him from bagging a job should be his level of study. He's a final yr pharmacy student. And when such person suddenly secures a mouthwatering job, one would think he used voodoo. cry sad
Even with common blogging. the traffic i get from linkedin is massive because of interaction. Check if i were in Nigeria seeking out for a Job. I just wanted to share this idea, it will definitely not work for everyone but will do for some who hit the right luck.

English not being your native language does not mean you should write an article that doesn't make any "sensible sense" when someone is reading it nau.

You might as well simply write in your native language, since that is the one where you can write what people can read.
You got the point. what makes sense to others doesn't make sense to you dude.
if unnecessary argument isn't your base for this.

correct me then. rewrite it to make 'sensible sense'

Those names

1. Bridgette Hyacinth
2. Oleg Vishnevpolsky
3. Sohaib Hassan

Are among the top influencers on LinkedIn. A lot of recruiters follow them and read their posts and get notified whenever they are tagged. So, post your CV, write a bit about yourself and tag them. A lot of recruiters will be notified about your post by LinkedIn simply because you tagged the big guns.
thanks, please i sent you an email via NL.

Jobs/Vacancies2 Simple And Smart Strategies To Get A Job On Linkedin by H100(op): 4:49pm On Jul 16, 2019
One of the greatest enemy of success in this jet age to millennia is patience. Ability to sit, think thoroughly before acting. you will find this 2 strategies as very simple, but here a things you should bear in mind and first work on.

Strategy always wins.
Develop a Career Road-map Strategy: list out your skills and strengths,
develop a vision for your career: where do you want to work and why?
does it align with your values?
Set the ball rolling: develop yourself as your life depends on it (cause it does),
get a mentor, get a coach.
Be intentional about your network: attend valuable events,
sign up for opportunities like YALI, Volunteer your skills.

At the end of all these and more, you would be a job magnet to companies.

Job Search is not gambling.

Stop looking for a job on linkedln like a gambler.

Yes, people often make that mistake, sending numerous messages to recruiters and connecting with only CEOs.

Applying for everything applicable irrespective of the role, job description and the paycheck. wasting time, energy and resources. directly or indirectly draining emotionally.

looking for a job is strategic. You can’t apply for everything because your job determines 80% of what you’ll become in future.

Here are the 2 easy strategies to find a job on linkedin

1. Network with people

Let’s say I know Grace and I’m interested in working at PZ, I will connect with her, engage her posts and contribute.

I will send her a message like, ”hello Grace! I’m a fan of your contents and it’s amazing how you contribute to this platform. I’m honored to be connected.”

She will definitely appreciate my words and respond and if she doesn’t, try a few more times or look for another person at PZ.

Let’s say, Aisha, a brilliant communication expert, you can apply same approach.

Trust me, one of them will respond. Do you see how strategic it is?

Yes, It takes time. Be patient.

Politics"No this No That" Thriller - Revenge Of The Poor by H100(op): 10:53am On Jul 16, 2019

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=86MzfUEynOM

scared of the revenge on politicians by the poor. A thrilling drama

There's always a way nature puts a balance between the prey and the predator.
"Not all who wander are lost"

A powerful message and reminder for many countries my friend.

The citizens of the world grow tired of the old ways.

The many working for the benefit of the few.

We are not all equal.

We are not all the same.

These are good things. These are truths. They should not be hidden or glossed over in an effort to be "pc" or pretend everyone holds the same value as everyone else in every situation.

Diversity is strength!!!

Our power as the whole of humanity lays within our differences and embracing them. Different views. Different customs. Different beliefs.

Each adding their strength to the whole. Raising different questions and solutions regarding the same problems. Different approaches and contemplations that allow the whole to see more of the bigger picture.

However.

We ARE all equal in that we share the right to basic human necessities.

Shelter from the storms (literal and figurative). Food in our bellies and water to quench our thirsts.

Access to knowledge and the opportunity to turn it into wisdom.

To believe as we see fit without fear of being persecuted and hunted for our differences.

Every man, woman, and child.

Every last one. Holds value.

Deserves basic human decency.
