Business / Photos Of The Nigerian Delegation At The Türkiye - Africa Business Forum by H100: 11:41am On Oct 19, 2023
TURKIYE-AFRICA BUSINESS & ECONOMIC FORUM (TABEF) 2023

Led by the leaders of both NACCIMA and the Nigeria - Turkey business council.

Ms Uche Osoka described events as a very engaging week coordinating the activities of the Nigeria delegates to TABEF, held on 13-14 October 2023 which was hosted by DEIK and had 24 Countries and 3900 participants in attendance

According to her, Nigeria scored a big win being one of the only two Countries at the event priviledged to have been listed on the agenda for a joint session with Turkiye-Nigeria Business Council (TNBC)/country presentation.

The B2B sessions were oversubscribed as Nigeria's tables had to be increased from two, set up for each participating country to six due to the interest raised after the powerful presentation by the trio of Mr. Hakan Ozel- President, (TNBC-DEIK); Mr. Dele Kelvin Oye, Chairman of (NTBC-DEIK)/ National President (NACCIMA) and the Nigerian Ambassador to Turkiye, Ambassador Ismail Abba Yusuf

The delegation also found time to pay a visit to the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkiye (TOBB) where we advocated for the restoration of the E-visa to Nigerians to encourage the ease of doing business

It was a great privilege to coordinate Nigeria's participation and moderate Nigeria's session at this important event between Turkiye and Africa.

NTBC continues to work in close partnership with the Turkiye Embassy in Nigeria, TNBC-DEIK to expand trade relations between Nigeria and Turkiye.

@justwise - Thanks for applying good judgement in this matter and for asking the naysayers the right questions.

@Farrason @naaija @femiaction @H100 & @welf99 and anyone else who thinks that this eDHA site: https://ehome.dha.gov.za/epermit/home is the only legitimate site to apply for an SA visa, let me clear once again:

SA evisa is only reviewed and issued by officers of the Department of Home Affairs (DHA). However, they receive applications through two authorised platforms - one that is managed by DHA directly (https://ehome.dha.gov.za/epermit/home) and another that is managed by VFS Global by the authorisation of DHA (https://southafrica.vfsevisa.com/).

Please note again that VFS does not adjudicate on the applications, they are only providing the technology (which is way better than eDHA's site technology) for the evisa to be processed. If you check the FAQ page of the VFS evisa site, their answer to this question: Q: "Is my personal information secure to submit online?" Ans: "Absolutely, all information including documents are safe and will only be used for the purpose of when you complete your application for a South African e-Visa, your information is secure and is submitted directly to the South African government. Your personal information will be processed only for the purpose of making a decision on your visa application"

I am not going to explain the reason for the two platforms because if anyone of you can just spare some time to read past posts from me, you'll see that I have explained the possible reason for the two platforms - I even shared a South African website's article on this.

Yes, I joined the platform on 11 January 2023. I do not follow anyone and I have never contacted/dm'd anyone on this platform. Most importantly, I did not join this thread to help promote evisa or VFS evisa platform or any kind of visa or business. I joined this platform because I am a long term visa applicant waiting for an outcome and wanted to be updated on feedback from other applicants like me. While doing so, I took some interest in disseminating information that may be of help to others in need. Unfortunately, doing so has almost destroyed my profile's reputation in less than 1 month - it's sad.

For those that are looking for proof of the VFS evisa, please see below a redacted version of the evisa that I had to ask a friend of mine to share. And if after this proof, you are still skeptical - well, good luck to you!

This unfortunately will be my last post on this platform. I wish everyone the best in their endeavour. I'll be watching as a guest wink. Thank you to all that provided support and to the thread master @justwise. Keep up the good work!

hey!

why the mention?

You have said it all. I was really disappointed when I saw the allegations yesterday. I have chatted with tryhard outside this space and not for once as he given me a scammer vibe, apparently he is also an applicant like most people on this thread.
The first time I heard about the VFS e visa was when I went to apply for sticker visa last year November, the guy working at VFS asked why I didn’t opt for e visa instead since it’s faster and it’s just for vacation, but it was too late. Eventually , I had to apply for the VFS e visa when I didn’t hear anything from sticker visa. We have discussed about the delay severally on this platform and it just started this year.
Please try to read and digest information before you accuse someone wrongly. I’m sure the guy never called VFS global to confirm anything , his first intuition was to come here and rant. His complaint is also something another person has experienced on this platform which was eventually resolved by VFS. Most people you see dropping comments here every now and then is out of frustration of being kept waiting indefinitely by these SA people, no one is trying to scam you.

TryHard has particularly been selfless here and out.

It's also cool that Justwise have restored their reputation here.

Listen up everyone, the guys running this website: https://southafrica.vfsevisa.com/ are scammers. Ensure not to fall their victim. the likes of tryharder and Myst77 are just plain scammers. This is why you have not received any information update cos you applied for the SA evisa using their website - https://southafrica.vfsevisa.com/. They will ask to send an email to info.evisasa@vfsglobal.com but be rest assured that no response will come forth. Naturally, you will then find your way after being tired and frustrated.

Likely, whom ever opened this thread meant a goodwill to help people find their feet but alas, if there is a Judas or a Lucifer in the most holy places, how much more a thread on Nairaland.

For people who have fallen victim, its so sad that despite the situation in the country, some people still derive joy to rip innocent Nigerians off their hard earned money through any means possible.

I believe these guys mentioned above especially Myst77 have scammed a lot of unsuspecting people. His profile just shows that he registered 11th January 2023 and has not created any topic but actively campaigned and encouraged people to register for SA e-visa using https://southafrica.vfsevisa.com/

I plead with the rest of us to try and be our brothers keepers and call out scammers anytime we discover them and I as well beckon on Nairaland to block their accounts immediately to avoid more victims.

WHY THIS POST?

I applied for the SA e-visa through the much advertised website - https://southafrica.vfsevisa.com/. See below the confirmation of payment and successful submission since yesterday afternoon. Up till now, i have not received any email on my payment and confirmation of my submission. Worst of is that I can't log back in on the website.

Also, I have noticed that travel agents have hijacked this VFS e visa, charging people outrageous fees and probably bribing their way through while innocent applicants are made to wait indefinitely. This is a serious eyesore and someone needs to sue VFS 🤧🥲

Extend your expectant date to 15working days. I think we both applied same day or a day apart. So it’s at worse case scenario, tomorrow.

Those who applied earlier didn’t notice this delay but as usual, DHA seems a corrupt institution.

The processing time window has not elapsed. According to VFS, processing time is 5-10 working days so, you shouldn’t be expecting an outcome until 30 Jan 2023. I would even recommend giving them 15 working days before you begin to worry.

Also, don’t allow one applicant’s delayed outcome affect you or scare you as each person’s application is different. Until there are numerous complaints about the processing time, let’s not conclude that the VFS evisa process has caught the disease of the walk-in process grin. Note that people generally come to this platform to express their concerns. Those that have secured their evisa won’t be bothered unless a few who would be willing to share the good news here (and I mean only a handful). So don’t panic!

Yes, it’s increasingly likely that VFS evisa process has caught the disease of the walk-in process.

I applied on Jan 4.

This SA visa is now becoming annoying and unnecessarily frustrating!!!! Alot of people were forced to apply through VFS because of the delay with walk in and now the VFS e visa is also not guaranteed again!!!! Did you apply using VFS eVisa website? Or you applied directly using the DHA route. It’s scary saying they don’t have info on your application if you actually used their platform to apply.

I basically want to go for a short holiday plus establish physical relationship with my customers over there.
