You’re welcome! Most likely if you don’t get any message about the state of your documents within 48-72hours , you’d most likely get the e-visa, because if they are problems with the document you’d be ask to Re-upload. Fingers crossed, follow up with VFS too.
It’s over 72hours now aside weekend. Is there need to mail them or wait a bit more?

What do you suggest.

It won’t work if you use the Naira card. They have stopped intl transaction on the Naira debit card. An idea! Use any domicillary card maybe Euros, pounds, USD. Or if you don’t have it, you can download the chipper app from your respective AppStore and register with your BVN and use the virtual card. Please note you will be charged at black market rate if you are funding your USD virtual card from your naira wallet. And you can fund your Naira wallet from your bank account. Is that clear ?
This helped me as well, I have submitted this morning, I hope they attend to it before 16th, no provision for Travel histories beyond 6months.

Thanks Tryhard.

You can apply immediately, so you can get an outcome soon before Jan 16 and try and follow up too with the vfs people. If Jan 16 passes and you’ve not heard from them they are most likely to refuse you based on travel date has passed. So hurry up!
Thank you. I’ll do the application now, then hopefully get stamped account statements tomorrow once banks are open.

Use the E-vfs, but then this is festive period you might not get an outcome this month. But still try to use the e-VFS, it’s still faster than this physical submission. They are trying to clear backlogs at the SAHC, Abuja. Plus you suppose no book flight yet till your visa decision is out, Well if you can move it to a much later date, just in case.
Can you help with Exact link. Happy new Year. I applied and made both flight & hotel reservation for Jan16 but I want to apply online ASAP to see how it goes since I haven’t gotten a response from the physical submission I did at VFS Lagos

HealthWorld’s Tallest Woman Boards Flight For The First Time Ever by H100(op): 12:16pm On Sep 30, 2022
Turkish Airlines helps world's tallest woman fly for first time

With a small seating adjustment, Rumeysa Gelgi finally boarded a plane for the first time in her life. It was not an easy path, but the tallest woman in the world made her very first trip by plane with the help of Turkish Airlines.

Stories of Geldi the Record Holder

Gelgi, who is in the Guinness Book of Records for her 2.15-meter (about 7-foot) height, was able to make the journey after Türkiye’s flagship airline turned six seats on the plane into stretchers. Gelgi has to travel by stretcher due to Weaver syndrome, a genetic disorder characterized by rapid growth. She normally gets around by wheelchair but sometimes walks for short distances. The 25-year-old software developer wanted to travel to the U.S. to collaborate with Guinness for an event and to help develop her professional career. Accompanied by her mother, the young woman boarded the flight with her wheelchair before laying on the stretcher inside the plane for a 13-hour flight to San Francisco.

TravelTurkish Ambassador To Nigeria Writes Abike Dabiri-Erewa On TRNC Statement by H100(op): 2:13pm On Sep 08, 2022
Türkiye Ambassador to Nigeria, Ambassador Hidayet Bayraktar Writes an Open Letter to Ms. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman/CEO of the NIDCOM - Turkey Errand Boy

In his letter, the Turkish seasoned diplomat suggests that Ms Dabiri may have made assumptions from the information fetched from unreliable sources.

He also acknowledged that some unfortunate criminal incidents took place in the TRNC, as it happens in any part of the world but insisted, in many cases, Nigerian citizens are not only victims, but also perpetrators of crimes committed.

On solution of the problem, Ambassador Hidayet revealed that the TRNC President has recently made a new cooperation proposal to the United Nations in addressing the illegal migration issue, by establishing a joint committee between the authorities of the two sides on the Island, with the inclusion of the UN, He also made it known to Nigerians that the Nigeria Mission in Ankara visits TRNC regularly to ascertain the welfare of her compatriots.

Read full letter

Open Lettet to Ms Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman/CEO NIDCOM

I have read the recent statement by Ms. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman/CEO of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), warning Nigerian citizens against travelling to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC). I have to express our reservations about the manner in which the allegations are framed, as they are offhandedly publicized without any official lines of communication or without any field visits by the NIDCOM officials to the TRNC.

It is with great dismay that we continue to listen to exaggerated and unfounded claims of Ms. Dabiri-Erewa, whose statements could portend the emergence of tensions between the peoples of Nigeria and the TRNC, contrary to the NIDCOM’s official mandate of fostering a greater empathy and understanding between Nigerians and the rest of the world.

Although neither myself, nor my country is clearly the addressee of this statement, one can hardly remain silent on its content, as her impetuous remark could damage the existing strong educational ties between Nigeria and the TRNC, where around thousands of Nigerian students are studying, as the largest group of foreign students.

First and foremost, Ms. Dabiri-Erewa claimed that “the TRNC is not safe for Nigerians, the killings took place on a daily basis and Nigerians should think twice before going to the Northern Cyprus”.

There are currently 50,561 international students from 145 countries and various teaching staff from 65 different countries, in the TRNC. Until now, I have come across with no other official statement, aside from Ms. Dabiri-Erewa’s, criticizing the TRNC on such grounds and portraying the life in the TRNC as a lawless country, although Northern Cyprus is one of the most peaceful touristic spots attracting visitors from all over the world. Thus, I must admit that her allegations caught me by surprise.

I do not dispute that some unfortunate criminal incidents took place in the TRNC, as it happens in any part of the world. However, the occurrence of such incidents is certainly not a daily routine and all these cases are taken seriously and investigated thoroughly by the TRNC authorities.

In fact, the Nigerian Embassy staff in Ankara visits the TRNC on a regular basis in order to observe the consular situation on the ground and there is a decent working dialogue between the Nigerian Embassy in Ankara and the Turkish Cypriot authorities. I would be interested in learning if Ms. Dabiri-Erewa has verified her information with the findings of these official visits.

Furthermore, there is no way of knowing why Ms. Dabiri-Erewa assumed that there is a systemic maltreatment in the TRNC, particularly towards Nigerians. However, I believe the words of Nigerians living in the TRNC, shining with plain honesty, is already enough to refute her allegations and show the true opinion of Nigerian diaspora in the TRNC. For instance, a civil society platform, the Nigerian Community in Northern Cyprus (NCNC), in a recent press release in the capital Lefkoşa, has expressed their distress about Ms. Dabiri-Erewa’s comments, due to the concern of this misinformation that have been created among their friends and family, and emphasized that “the TRNC is a safe country and Nigerians are safer in Northern Cyprus than in Northern Nigeria”. I wish Ms. Dabiri-Erewa had contacted Nigerian citizens in the TRNC, before reaching her conclusion.

Lastly, despite unlawful and inhumane isolation imposed on the TRNC, the quality of the Turkish Cypriot universities remains high and the TRNC Government is doing the utmost to keep it as such. The TRNC authorities are taking the recent accusations very seriously and preparing to take the necessary precautions.

Indeed, the TRNC President has recently made a new cooperation proposal to the United Nations in addressing the illegal migration issue, by establishing a joint committee between the authorities of the two sides on the Island, with the inclusion of the UN. Moreover, since in many cases, Nigerian citizens are not only victims, but also perpetrators of crimes committed in the TRNC, necessary measure will be taken by the relevant agencies in order to prevent young Nigerians and every other student from falling victims. Finally, the TRNC authorities will be soon revising their visa regime accordingly, with a view to address the claims of Ms. Dabiri-Erewa.

I am confident that the Nigerian public will base their opinions about the TRNC on objective realities, rather than getting wrong perception through Ms. Dabiri-Erewa. I would also like to advice Ms. Dabiri-Erewa to check the reliability of her sources and to give her speeches deserved consideration in the future. After all, the NIDCOM is mandated to work for a stronger bonds between Nigerians abroad and other communities, not to erode them.

Sincerely,

Hidayet BAYRAKTAR

Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye

Travel‘A Lot Of Agents Are Being Taken Away’ - Turkish Shop Owners Warn Nigerians by H100(op):
Nigerian procurement agents in Istanbul face stiffer times ahead of Turkish elections next year

- Ikamet renewal on a massive decline
- Deportations now rampant
- Turkish shops suffer low patronage

Ikamet is the Turkish residence permit, many documented Nigerians have recently have their renewal application declined as well putting many on alert of what is to come despite legally residing in the country.

This incessant police raid has drastically affected their own businesses which is already hit by the Nigerian economic factors which has hugely slowed down demand and patronage.

There have been high profile arrests and deportations of undocumented procurement agents within the Nigeria Cargo rank in the past few weeks.

The Turkish immigration policy has been largely considered inconsistent over the past 4 years, leaving migrants with a lot to consider, It is sincerely not certain which visa would allow you get a resident permit now.

Many Nigerians who are desperate to relocate over to Turkey are advised to either reconsider their plans or at least hold on until after the Turkish electioneering year.

According to the trends data, using the past 7 (seven) days' filter 03-08-2022 to 10-08-2022.

OVERALL AVERAGE

Bola Ahmed Tinubu (49%)
Atiku Abubakar (26%)
Peter Obi (48%)
Rabiu Kwankwaso (3%)

There are still about 6 months before February 2023, but I can tell you that the significant contest will be between Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Peter Obi, and Atiku Abubakar.

There are also going to be lots of surprises, more swing states or battleground states are emerging.

Bola Ahmed Tinubu leads with about 15 states: Ekiti, Oyo, Osun, Ondo, Ogun, Kwara, Lagos, Jigawa, Plateau, Niger, Kogi, Kaduna, Bauchi, Borno, and Taraba.

It's good to share that in Lagos, Bola Ahmed Tinubu had 41%, while Peter Obi is at 38%.

Can Lagos be a swing state?

Next, Peter Obi leads with about 13 states: Edo, Delta, Benue, Nasarawa, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Imo, Bayelsa, Abia, Ebonyi, Anambra, and Enugu.

Do you know that the FCT will also be a battleground?

Bola Ahmed Tinubu 37% and Peter Obi 37% each, according to the trends at this time.

Next, Atiku Abubakar with about 8 states: Kebbi, Yobe, Katsina, Sokoto, Zamfara, Gombe, Adamawa and Kano.

Yes, I was equally surprised with the traction from Kano - Atiku Abubakar 33%, Bola Ahmed Tinubu 26%, Rabiu Kwankwaso 24%, and Peter Obi 17%.

It’s good to share that Kwankwaso’s highest traction is from Kano, but they also have been growing in Jigawa, Katsina, Yobe, Bauchi, and Borno State.

SWING STATES OR BATTLEGROUND STATES:

(a) Katsina State - Bola Ahmed Tinubu 40% and Atiku Abubakar 41%.

(b) Yobe State - Atiku Abubakar 47% and Bola Ahmed Tinubu 41%.

(c) Lagos State - Bola Ahmed Tinubu 41% and Peter Obi 38%.

(d) Kebbi State - Atiku Abubakar 51% and Bola Ahmed Tinubu 49%.

(e) Edo State - Peter Obi 43% and Bola Ahmed Tinubu 38%.

(f) Plateau State - Peter Obi 37% and Bola Ahmed Tinubu 39%.

TravelTurkey Delists Nigeria From E-visa Eligibility by H100(op): 8:04am On Jul 08, 2022
Nigeria have been removed from list of countries whose citizens can enter the republic of Turkey using e-visa if they have supporting visas

The e-visa allows Nigerians who have Schengen/UK/US visa to visit the country without visiting the republic’s consulate.

This is following the frequent & incessant attacks around the country.

This delisting was done without prior information from the Turkish mission in Nigeria. To see list of countries eligible for e-visa, simply visit konsolosluk.gov.tr then proceed by selecting a consular mission

There’s currently no press release or update on this development from any concerned body at the time of this report, as more enraged Nigerians seek the comments of the Nigerian foreign minister on this matter.

PoliticsOwo Massacre: ‘Drop The Swords, Get Licensed Guns’ - Fr Oluoma Tasks Knights by H100(op): 7:53am On Jun 06, 2022
If you die for or because of your faith in Christ Jesus, it's martyrdom, "the blood of the martyrs is the seed of the church". If you die for your country, it's patriotism.

However, I don't know what to call those who die for just being Nigerians, individuals ruthlessly hacked to death and roasted in fire by rampaging blood thirsty religious fanatics in a country that says it is secular with rule of law.

What do I call those massacred in St Francis Catholic Church by terrorists that seem to be enabled by some criminal elements in the country? If they were told to renounce their faith in Christ Jesus and they refused and got killed, I could call them martyrs without hesitation. They were killed because they were unfortunate to be in Nigeria where killing is now as easy as ABC everywhere. Let's leave nomenclature for now.

A MESSAGE FOR THE KNIGHTS OF THE CHURCH.
knighthood was established to protect the church, if I'm not mistaken, from external aggression. It's time to up the game. I plead, appeal and suggest that knights in the church should organise and get licensed guns. Drop the ceremonial swords for now, get government licensed guns, get some members trained and carry the guns concealed for eventualities like Owo massacre. Self defence is not against Christian and Catholic doctrine.

Parishes that are too poor to have government licensed automatic guns should be assisted by the rich ones. If we have to dedicate the bazaar of one year to achieve this let it be. Let's help government to ward off killers from worship centers.

It is practically impossible for government to deploy security operatives to all churches, so this is a necessary complementary efforts. Knights of the church, it's time. Let's not ever think that this incident will not happen again. This is not the first, who says it will be the last? It is safe to say other churches and our muslim brethren can do same. Government needs help to secure Nigerians.

A MESSAGE TO OUR CHRISTIAN POLITICIANS.
You all know that Nigeria needs to be restructured, our security architecture needs to be urgently redesigned. for reasons beyond comprehension, I don't know why you guys don't make it a priority. You are more intent in getting your party slots for one elective position or the other, you are more concerned with getting your party to win one election or the other, you have refused to tackle the fundamental issues with the country.

please, eschew personal and partisan interest and make the interest of Nigeria your priority. Pursue the restructuring of Nigeria from the constitutional point of view to governance levels vigorously. Stop playing the ostrich.

may the souls of the victims of St Francis Catholic Church Owo massacre rest in peace.

TravelTough Times For Undocumented Nigerians In Turkey by H100(op): 2:20pm On May 31, 2022
Undocumented Foreigners in Turkey now face the toughest of times. - Turkey Errand Boy

Things have never become this difficult especially for undocumented Nigerians in Turkey, there has always been checkpoints and strategic positions where the Turkey immigration police mount to check foreigners immigration status.

These policemen are most of the time dressed on mufti to avoid being noticed by  any passerby until approached.

Inside Underground Market Where Nigerians Buy Food in Istanbul
, Many Nigerians has since 2021 been arrested, detained and sometimes deported afterwards for not having their residency permit with them.

Turkey immigration police have toughened their tactics against foreigners without resident or work permit. This has also increased tension among Nigerians in Turkey especially for people who use what is regarded as 'jesus Kimlik' which simply means being guided by God's grace.

Markets have for long been regarded as a safe haven for many who are in Turkey as procurement agents.

Undocumented Nigerians in Turkey struggled since COVID

Turkey have only until after COVID-19 in 2020 been lenient on Nigerians and Africans at large who do not have the resident permits owing this grace to the business and industrial mindedness of people from the continent especially Nigerians who help compatriots back home procure Turkish products.

Many have called on NICOT, an Umbrella body negotiating on behalf of these undocumented Nigerians in Turkey to please help initiate measures to protect law abiding Nigerians regardless of their documentation.

Now that markets like Laleli are not safe anymore, it is expected that many of these undocumented settlers in Turkey may take to staying indoor and hopefully not resort to crime, as many do not nurse the idea of returning to Nigeria where hopes fade easily and pastures never green.

The Laleli market house hundreds of companies popular among Africa. Companies like Success Woman, Mutlu, Ross Fashion, Lavinya, Sincere, lamira, Orlando, etc.

Nonetheless,  the way forward for these Nigerians who do not have the Turkish residence or work permit is now highly dependent on the very unstable Turkish immigration policy, which at a time allowed NICOT to issue notes to countrymen who identify with the body.

Undocumented Foreigners in Turkey especially Nigerians should note that they risk being detained in unknown locations for a period between 2weeks to 5months and could be deported still.

Politics‘Nigerians Desire A South Eastern President’ - Metuh Writes SS/SE PDP Governors by H100(op): 2:48pm On Apr 08, 2022
OPEN LETTER TO PDP SOUTHERN GOVERNORS.

Your Excellencies,

Permit me to address you openly on the most topical issue at the moment, the 2023 Presidential election.

First, may I express my profound appreciation for your contributions and sacrifices for the sustainance and progress of our great party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

You will recall that I joined millions of Party members to oppose the zoning of our Presidential ticket. The reason is to avoid the conspiracy to annoint an ordained aspirant who has the unfettered access to limitless funds for the primaries.

I write to you as someone who participated actively during the process to select most of you as candidates for the 2015 elections. Fortunately, you all can attest to my integrity and altruism during that process as I was totally concerned more with the peace and progress of our party than any mundane or personal interest, just as in the process right now.

It is more like an open secret that the Southern governors will meet most probably this weekend to drum up support for a Southern candidate. Millions of our members will jubilate if this actually is meant to achieve a South Eastern candidacy. Unfortunately, this is so far from your planning at the moment.

I would like to draw your attention to the reality that Nigerians actually desire a South Eastern Presidency to end the civil war syndrome and once for all, achieve a true national unity. More importantly, some of the best aspirants are actually from the Southeast.

For competence, merit, peace, fairness and many other reasons, the Southern Governors Forum of the PDP should pick a consensus candidate from the South East.

Nigerians desire a Southern Eastern President but then, only a National Consensus can achieve this perfect yearning. Let the Southern Governors lead this quest for the overall interest of our party and our nation, Nigeria.

Let me forewarn sirs, that there is a clear and present danger of achieving candidacy with contacts and stupendous display of wealth but not achieving victory at the general election. It will definitely be a PYRRHIC VICTORY to nominate a strong aspirant but a weak candidate.

Your Excellencies, the commanders of our faithfuls, please harken to the voice of the led and let reason prevail over comradeship.

May God bless you all as you get set to wind down your wonderful eight years tenures, in less than 14 months.
