Ladies always seem to wonder why men invite them over to their houses/apartments. Even though the reasons are more than obvious to most guys, ladies often tend to feign knowledge of the guy's intent. In order to ensure that the silly, "Why do you want me to come over?" question ceases, here are some reasons why guys want you to come over:

1) We want to introduce you to our family: Every man needs a beautiful, intelligent and responsible woman(assuming you possess any of these traits) who he can "take home to mama" and whenever we finally get a chance to meet such a lady, maybe YOU, we might just decide to introduce you to our family members for proper scrutiny and verification from the elders.

Even single guys who live alone or with their friends might want to introduce to their neighbours or show you off to their friends so as to get a confirmation that "you are really tight".

2) It is safer: Just imagine for a moment we are taking a stroll to the cinemas and on our way a very "the-rock-like" looking guy smacks your bum-bum. What do you expect to happen? I speak for myself(I don't know about other guys) when I say that I will NEVER get into a fight with another guy, especially when I know fully well that he is going to beat me up, over a woman I have never had the chance of exploring her "hidden treasure island" not to even talk of making my wife. The best you'll get out of me is "sorry". We can talk about it on the way home and try to determine how we can avoid a similar occurrence on our future dates but THAT'S ALL!

So, as proactively as we can, we often tend to suggest you come over to our place so that you can be as safe as possible. And I know I speak for all guys when I say, "any man that knocks on my door and 'shows himself' will watch the movie on blu ray".

3) It is cheaper: It would cost a lot to take a girl to an eatery, the cinema or a restaurant. Instead, why don't we stay at home? With 2k, a guy can go to the market and buy some foodstuff and prepare an even more sumptuous meal of fried rice and chicken(assuming the guy can cook or you can), a pack of 5 alive(which costs N250 on my street but N500 and above in fancy spots) and can even package take away packs for you, your friends, your family and anyone else who hasn't eaten in your social/family network(for the ojukokoroes).

Also, with N200, a guy can purchase an 8-in-1 dvd and both of you can watch all the latest movies for as long as your visit lasts. Last time I checked, it costs N1500 for ONE movie ticket. Do the maths and you come up with at least 8 or 10 8-in-1 dvds(the dvd seller might decide to even give you a discount so you might get even more) which amounts to 80 or more movies! Popcorn is N50 on my street. This saves a lot of money, especially if you decide to spend the weekend.

4) Privacy: Even if the guy happens to be using his family or friend's place for the date, you can still be guaranteed a good degree of privacy. We know ladies love their privacy and most times, all we want to do is create an atmosphere whereby you wouldn't have to bother about anyone looking at you while you're breaking that chicken bone or struggling with that pomo. You can even feel free to eat the rice with your bare hands if you wish. No need to form BOLO.

Also, in case you need to take off your clothes, take a shower, pee, poo-poo, do your make up etc. The house is all yours!

5) Hoping you "give it up": Well, what can I say? I don't believe there is any straight guy who has ever said, "Oh my god! Look at that beauty! She has a pretty face, a lovely smile, big boobs, big yansh, a sexy figure and I WANT TO MAKE HER MY FRIEND!". Never have and most certainly never will!

When a guy sees you, OF COURSE he wants to sleep with you. Don't get me wrong, a guy might want to just hold you, cuddle you, spend on you, your friends and maybe your family(for the ojukokoroes), tell you "I love you", be romantic, maybe marry you and other stuff but deep down he's hoping to get some pvzzy. We know YOU WANT IT TOO and that's why we decided to take you to a nice and private place where you can showcase all your skills(kamusutra most preferably), twerk, walk around in your birthday suit, stretch out on all fours, scream everything from "oh my god!, Jesus Christ!, harder, faster and say any other sexually motivating phrase you can come up with. Oh, and you're also free to stay for the weekend.

Disclaimer: If you, ladies, are not comfortable with any of the reasons then just be straight forward enough to let us know you're not interested. Don't bother trying to "confuse" us to take you out and waste our money. If you can't come over, we'll find someone else who will. Besides, there are lots of "magas" out there you can try out your "stunts" with

That's all I can think of but I'm sure with this list, women will hopefully desist of as the silly why-do-you-want-me-to-come-over question.

The fact that they were born into rich families doesn't guarantee them success in the future. Wealth can be lost and mishandled

Why can't for those that immigrated from here? That was why I used the Einstein's example. Didn't Nigeria claim the achievement of Soyinka?

That's the point! Why should they? Whenever a Nigerian "escapes" from Nigeria and excels abroad our leaders start famzing like they pay welfare

Yet foreigners like Lebanese come here to overcome all your so called problems and employ us to "slave" for them. This is where I would blame the government for aiding us to ruin our manufacturing sector. If I was the president, I would ban all unnecessary importations. For instance, anyone who is not satisfied with her hair should go and cut from Nigerian horses to use.

Those lebanese have access to loans from their country and even Nigerian banks will rather grant them and Indians loans over a Nigerian entrepreneur.

Realistically, the government can't make such hasty decisions. If that happens you'll walk around nude and you won't have access to the internet. EVERYTHING is imported in this country. The clothes you are wearing right now is imported and I'm certain you use some imported gadgets in your house. If you have a car, that's imported too as well as your lappy or phone.. So, if you feel ladies should stick to their natural hair, you'll also have to stick to wearing leaves

trapQ:
Quick question: have you ever had a nightmare before? If yes it may interest you to know that the science that says God is not real has proven that "night mares" ( the spiritual entities you see in your sleep which cause "sleep paralysis" are REAL. Why? Because the region in your brain in which you process that memory is the same region where PHYSICAL things (eg your phone, car, house, siblings etc) are stored., so invariably they are saying that if those things weren't real, then the memory (of the nightmares) wouldn't be stored in that location of the brain.

You don't see GODLY entities because you are not on his side. The foolishness of GOD is a million times greater that the wiseness of science.
You seem to share the misconception that anyone who doesn't believe in a supreme entity is a science enthusiast or even a scientist.

Bro, as far as I'm concerned all that "spiritual" is nothing short of a product of your mind/imagination. Probably from a low self esteem and thus one tends to attribute positive instances as the works of a supreme god or of a lack of responsibility that makes one attribute failures and other negative instances to the devil.

I'm certain whenever power is restored you shout "up nepa" and say "thank god" like god was the one that went and pulled the switch despite the fact that you pay for a service with no customer care.

Yes, we are. The successive military regimes that ruled this country helped us to fight it. They were busy protecting their rule, rather than develop the country. These guys are the root of most the problems we face today, from corruption to education. But gradually we are healing. Even a Jonathan, whom I don't like, helped us to heal and I hope a Buhari would help us heal exponentially.

True

Good of you for making something of yourself, but why not try to make those hairs here? This way, you would employ (more) people and enrich yourself and the country at large more.

First of all, Nigerian ladies don't keep their hair long enough and even when they do they would have spoilt it with relaxer so their hairs have no quality. Secondly, there is really no infrastructure to support manufacturing in this country. No access to loans, when you buy your land you have to pay omo oniles their own share and even after that you have to generate your own electricity(and still pay exhuberant nepa bills), dig your own bore hole to get water and still be faced with bad roads that increase one's expenditure on car maintenance, bribe police check points etc. Even ibo men, despite their ingenuity will rather import finished products because you still save more and make more profit importing finished goods. Believe me, Nigeria still has a long way to becoming a manufacturing nation

There would always be limitations in every endeavour, but we just have to learn to utilise what we have to get what we want. Even citizens of the developed countries cry for a better life. It is just like a second class lower student losing hope in himself, because he saw a student with a 2-1 coming for the same job interview. We can do it -- we have what we need to do the job.

I repeat, Nigeria doesn't kill anyone's dream, because it is nothing without Nigerians, but people kill their own dreams themselves. Most of us just want easy life, so we expect everything to just work normally and smoothly for us, but that is not always the case. Many of us are intellectually lazy (this you should know well with your interaction with those guys in the religion forum.) Imagine the trial and errors we humans did before we evolved from apes. The road was rough, but now we are reaping the benefits with relative easy stress.

I agree. However, this is the basis of this thread. Why claim the achievements of Nigerians in diaspora when it seems almost impossible to replicate those achievements here. Even Nigerians who schooled abroad find it difficult here despite their exposure to sound work ethics

Sad cases like that happen in every country including the USA (http://www.americasquarterly.org/aborn-prisons). Anything human can never be perfect, so injustice would certainly creep in. But it is how we manage our imperfections that matters. The fact is that their are so many criminals in the country now that resulted from the "war" the military fought. So many "unfortunate" criminals and unlucky people are made to queue for trail. Hopefully, with time things would get easier, if we start thinking to solve that problem.

Of course, no where is perfect. Success is an individual thing and has nothing to do with location. I guess I was just thinking out loud

Why is Nigeria a dream killer? Is anyone called Nigeria? We make up that Nigeria! Do you own part and I would do mine, then Nigeria would be great. Don't expect us to reach this destination on a "smooth" road. Read about the American industrial revolution -- I believe we can also replicate that in Nigeria, because we have the resources to do so. Finally I ask, where was Germany after the second world war?
No where. But Nigeria isn't recovering from a war as profound as WWII bro.

Look at my signature. I am an example of what a person can achieve in this country without the aid of the government. However, as a poeple it will be difficult to progress considering the lack of infrastructure, retrogressive culture, beliefs, values etc

It would be myopic to say Nigeria CAN'T progress but face reality bro, Nigeria is a dream killer. If you doubt, I bet the millions of unemployed youths, people who have to hold up torch lights while being operated on, people in ATM(awaiting trial) held for more than 2 years due to a lack of a judicial system just because they were "raided" etc will agree with me

Why not, everyone does it? Ask Germans who Einstein is.
Germany has produced lots of intellectuals who were born and rasied there, have access to infrastructure etc whereas Nigeria is a dream killer(presently).

There are few geniuses who have emerged from a purely "Nigerian" background, aside purely academics, because ordinarily the odds are against us.

OP, you've really done excellently well by not only analyzing the president's statement but also each of the affected positions.

I saw the Chief Wailer's thread late but when I did a quick Google search on Obama's cabinet for 2008 and 2012, I immediately realised the guy's folly. I contemplated doing a counter thread but I decided against it since I had more pressing and more productive things to do.

The Protection Seeker is gifted in spinning facts to suit his purpose of deceiving his gullible and lazy followers, he's best nicknamed "The Spin Doctor". He should be paid very little or no attention to.

The good thing is his sphere of influence is limited to some TANoids on NL and not beyond. He's non-existent on Twitter, not influential on Facebook, not known in the blogging arena and he does not have a column in any of the national dailies. In fact, he is nobody when it comes to political analysis in Nigeria's political landscape. Perhaps if he chooses to do sincere and objective analyses, he may be taken more seriously than now.
@bolded, his thread made front page o. It's necessary that people debunk his myopic statements so they are not given a chance to pollute minds.

I didn't read the post though.
