No doubt, Nigerians are very talented people. Even despite the different setbacks we go through in this country from epileptic power supply, non existent health care system, poorly trained security personels who want to be bribed at every opportunity, bad roads, bad government, tribalism, lack of loans etc we always manage to survive. Especially when we leave this country. Immediately a Nigerian gets out of this country and steps foot in a country that has a good justice system, good infrastructure, state of the art technology etc we always seem to excel at an outstanding pace. Especially those that are born there. Whenever there is news of an achievement of a "Nigerian born" or some of "Nigerian heritage", every Nigerian seems to want to take the glory. Take for instance this topic @ https://www.nairaland.com/2245913/3-nigerians-win-uk-parliamentary. At this very moment, there are lots of igbo people on that thread singing praises to themselves about how Igbo people are making Nigerians proud while other tribes are trying to now bask under the "one Nigeria" mantra. Afterall, we are one na even if the oba wants some people to die in the lagoon. But truely, when you take a deeper look at this issue, one cannot help but wonder if we truly deserve to claim this achievement as ours because as a matter of fact, taking that topic into consideration, those people wouldn't have gotten that kind of education if they were raised in Nigeria, they wouldn't have had the benefit of a working infrastructural system and most importantly, they wouldn't have been able to get to that level of politics simply because of trivial issues if they were here in Nigeria simply because of their tribe perhaps but have been giving the opportunity in a country that is caucasian/European based. Personally, I find it pathetic that we are always first to claim such achievements by "Nigerians" living in diaspora when we would have most probably frowned at the person's ambition either because of his/her age, gender(females are mostly at the receiving end of this) or tribe. So, the question is, do you think we have any right to claim such achievements simply because they immigrated from here or have Nigerian parents because funny enough, most of such people have British passports, schooled in British/foreign schools, observe foreign traditions and cultures, eat foreign food and can't make eba to save their lives and in most cases consider themselves to be British or nationals of whatever country they find themselves in and don't see themselves as Nigerians. Modified The recent case of Anthony Joshua also brings this issue up again Do Nigerians really have the right to call him ours considering we did little to ensure his development as a boxer and even a particular coach rejected him from the boxing team? |
mikolo80:No be only you ooo. However, just like business, capital isn't the first thing you need. What we need is a vision and a goal. The money and other neccessities will come in due time. As far as joining APC or PDP, that's a big NO because none of them have an ideal or vision. PDP was built by the elite for the elite and is on a steady downward spiral while all APC have is Buhari. We on the other hand need something more concrete |
Helen Paul would have been a good choice but she has only one joke |
mikolo80:Ogun state. I'm tired of thinking. We(the youths) really need to start doing |
Yes of course, I will. As a patriotic citizen of this great country, definitely. But only after the soldiers who are supposed to do it, because its their job, are all dead and I'm the last option |
simplex2:And the person is from Israel. Like wtf! Also, if I accept the person I will be employed as part of the heavenly choir for eternity |
BodyKiss:Very true. GEJ avoided the debate in 2011 and won even though he later debated against himself and Dbanj who wasn't running for any political post. In retrospect though, Buhari didn't need to debate because GEJ had no good point to defend. Nice points though for start ups |

Mad people everywhere |
medamillion:Thirded |
I hope he has a plan to tackle all the corrupt members of the soon to be defunct PDP that are all decamping to the APC. We really need to see some heads roll. |
And Nigeria looses more customers. At this stage, the only way we can survive is by renovating or building new refineries(the ones we have have been abandoned for ages and who knows if they can still function), refining our own oil and sell to Nigerians and other African countries. If Nigeria can be the sole supplier/largest supplier of AGO within Africa we will definitely survive. Even if we sold only within Nigeria, we would be able to take care of ourselves with over 160m population there would be such a huge demand within our borders that we would have to think twice before exporting. wilsonl:I quoted you already regarding this on another of your thread. The Chinese sell fake machines and they don't manufacture spare parts and that means you are on your own when the machine starts developing faults. Also their machines have a low capacity of BPH. At the end of the day, its a very unwise business decision. Stop encouraging people to waste their money. You have nice ideas, however atimes you write like you don't live in Nigeria. If you did you would have included a "power plant" in that list. The major reason why manufacturing and business in general have a hard time growing is because we have to generate our own electricity. Do you have any idea how much diesel you will have to purchase to be able to power a generator used to power a manufacturing machine? Also, you wrote "preferably from China/India" in that list. Obviously you know nothing about machinery. The Chinese, most especially, are in the habit of cloning European machinery. What they do is they visit large fairs in Europe, buy the machines and go back to their countries to clone their own. As a result, they end up producing the same machines with lower production capacity and most times they are never concerned with spare parts. I know you probably said that because their machines are cheap but in manufacturing, you can never substitute quality for cheap price. I once had a client who insisted on purchasing machinery from China and after 2 years the machines began to develop faults. My client had to travel all the way to China to request for parts from the company only to be laughed at and told "we don't sell parts". Another client bought machines and barely a month after using the machines, one of them exploded and killed a staff. I know you mean well but your post shows you have no practical knowledge of manufacturing and how manufacturing machines work. Please, make a deeper research before recommending Chinese and Indian machines to people before they start wasting their capital. Keep up the good work |
emmykk:An average water bottling plant costs about 200,000euros. |

lacicrips:The problem is the pregnancies were non existent. During the relationship, I was using the withdrawal method and they were hoping I'd cum in them after their silly lie so they could actually get pregnant. Just plain silly |
