Great initiative. Thanks.

LagosNIV:
Hello, Nairaland! This thread is a continuation of “U.S. Non-immigrant Visas: We’re Listening”.

We are U.S. Foreign Service Officers working in Nigeria. We'll be happy to answer as many of your Non-Immigrant Visa questions as possible. Please note that we do not comment on specific cases, we do not offer advice, and we will not answer abusive or insulting posts.

While we will attempt to explain U.S. immigration policies and provide overall visa application guidance, any opinions expressed are the personal views of the writer and do not necessarily reflect the views of the United States Government.

Before asking a question, please take the initiative to search both the original thread and earlier posts within this thread (Pt. 2) for answers that U.S. Foreign Service Officers have provided, already. In addition, we encourage you to seek guidance via the following U.S. government sites, which contain accurate information on the visa application process:
1. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas.html
2. http://www.ustraveldocs.com/ng/index.html?firstTime=No
3. https://educationusa.state.gov/

We are happy to clarify misconceptions to ensure that you are prepared for your interview. Still, remember that we neither comment on individual cases nor do we comment on your probability of getting a visa.

Pussitto:
A man's joystick disappeared after lending a woman a pen in the bank last Friday here in Asaba, I am an eye witness! Last Friday at a bank i will not name along Nnebisu road, a man lends a young rich woman a
pen and instantly his manhood got missing. The man couldn't notice until few minutes, this prompted the man to shout for help within the banking Hall. The people around couldn't believe their ears until they confirmed that the manhood actually disappeared. The securities and some men have to run after the woman. Luckily, she was found outside, about to start her car. When apprehended the woman claimed that she didn't take the man's manhood. After serious interrogation and serious beating the woman confessed that the manhood is in a calabash in the car boot. When the car boot was opened they found the calabash and asked her to open it. The moment the woman opened the calabash she disappeared both she and the car. This caused an uproar in the area, police has been invited to track the woman. From CCTV evidence and records the woman name is said to be Nneka Okoro. The man whose manhood got missing cried for hours and several Pastors and individuals prayed to God to restore the manhood. The man and many others who are eye witness has been detained at Police Headquarters Asaba for further interrogation.

Car Talk / Re: What I Saw In This Toyota Prado Fuel Tank (Photos) by halfcurrent(m): 12:15pm On Oct 31, 2017
cardoctor:
This should be an eye opener to diesel engined car owners. The condition and quality of diesel in the Nigerian market is appalling. I have observed that there is so much adulterated diesel in circulation that can ultimately clog up your fuel system with catastrophic consequences to your engine as well as associated emission components. I have worked on diesel engines for over 30 years now and this is the worst condition of sludge and dirt that I have ever found in any diesel fuel tank.

Most diesel fuel bought on the black market and also gas stations could possibly be contaminated with dirt and water that can potentially cause engine malfunctions that could adversely affect your fuel economy. A Toyota Prado diesel was brought into my workshop as a non-starter and further diagnostics revealed what you see in the pictures below.

1. Diesel fuel tanks (Main and reserve) was filled with sludge and water.
2. Diesel filters in the fuel tanks was completely covered in sludge.
3. Engine bay filter was completely blocked with dirt.

A proper wash of the fuel tanks and brand new filters had the vehicle back on its feet and now drives superbly.

Avoid black market diesel and change your filters regularly (every 10,000kms).
Clean out your fuel tanks (every 20,000kms)

Car-Doctor

Thanks for sharing. Biological growth in the storage tank is also a contributory factor. The fuel may be good and pass all test including water content at the time of supply, but over the years, there is usually accumulated biological growth that contribute to sludge.
Politics / Re: Jude Idimogu: It's Too Late For Igbo To Pull Out Of Nigeria by halfcurrent(m): 12:56pm On Sep 24, 2017
naijastoryz:
It’s too late for Igbo to pull out of Nigeria – Igbo lawmaker

A Lagos lawmaker, Mr Jude Idimogu, on Saturday, said it was too late for the Igbo nation to pull out of Nigeria. Idimogu, representing Oshodi/Isolo Constituency II in the Lagos State House of Assembly, told newsmen in Lagos that secession would be injurious to the Igbos.

He said: “As a full blooded Igbo man and a Nigerian, I believe, Igbo staying in Nigeria as an entity will prosper the Igbo nation better than pulling out.

“After the 1967 Civil war, the Igbo man started all over again to build up; now Igbo nation has made progress in terms of economy and politics.

“Though the Igbo nation has not reached where it is expected to be politically, we should dialogue rather than be creating war scenarios. ‘

’It is too late to pull out (of Nigeria), Igbo nation has united Nigeria because they have businesses everywhere in this country,” the lawmaker said.

The lawmaker urged Mr Nnamdi Kanu, the Leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), to rescind from any action that could create enmity against Igbos around the country. He urged the Igbo nation to unite with other ethnic groups in the country to articulate their grievances and actualised their dreams.

“My children were born in Lagos and some of them don’t even know their state of origin, they speak Yoruba and so many Igbo children are like that across the North and West.

“We have our future in Nigeria. The only thing Igbo nation should fight for is political power not by creating war scenario but by merging with other nations/tribes in Nigeria – the Northerners and Westerners. “Most Igbos, over 50 per cent, don’t even believe in Biafra because they have counted the cost from 1970 after the war till 2017. No one wants to go back to square one; it is not possible.

“As a person, I am against it; what the Igbo man should struggle for in this entity are equality, fairness and justice, not pulling out.

“It is very late to pull out, it will be difficult because majority of us are not ready to fight any war; I don’t want to lose my life nor my sons and daughter in war; I believe we can make Nigeria our home,’’ he said. According to him, even if the Igbo nation wants to pull out of Nigeria, it is not going to be overnight or by aggression, rather it should be via a friendly and democratic process.

“Kanu should calm down, unite with Ohanaeze Ndigbo, a tree cannot make a forest,” the lawmaker said. Newsmen report that there had been several agitations by IPOB for a Sovereign State of Biafra, the development that lead to the proscription of the group.

Very excellent one from an enlightened Igbo man. We should think like. Nobody should be deceived into baseless war.
