manny4life: It's easy to state they earn $10/hr but you did not include taxes (SS, State, Federal, and Medicare), the cost of living vs Nigeria are way different. Nigeria has her own problems and while Nigerian wage is low (peanut), Nigeria does have it good to a certain degree. Please don't envy $10/hr, it's NOTHING.Don't we have to go to the hospital too? Cost of petrol for generator, house rent, bribe u pay to go further in life. My brother! The list continues.... |
See jobless Nigerians! Hv u stopped lying and other stuffs? Smh |

warrior01: Tis now quite obvious that tunde bakare is obsessed with denigrading Gej and his family not even minding that it is the same God he claims he is serving that put Gej there. He no more cares about the spiritual wellbeing of his members but he is busy sowing seeds of discord and hatred in their hearts all in the name of politics and it doesn't take rocket science for any reasonable person to discern this. Is God happy with him? The answer is NO cos he is presently not Christ like.you're a big fool. |

Looking back to the day's mobile technology started in Nigeria, by then it must have been very difficult to think of what mobile technology would turn out to be in the coming years. I just read from an article that LG is planning on introducing a game changing "thinking Smartphone". To understand what this could mean, let's start by going through the technologies been incorporated into Smartphones in recent years. But before then, when I was a lot younger than I am now, I used to think Thuraya was the best thing that would happen to mobile technology. *but wait, where is Thuraya?* With the likes of Siri, Andy siri, Evi to mention a few, what exactly could a thinking Smartphone do? Siri is an intelligent software assistant and knowledge navigator which was released August 9, 2011. It's an application that uses a natural language user interface to answer questions, make recommendations and perform actions by delegating request to a set of web services. So as Andy siri, Evi and the rest, the only difference is that Andy siri runs only on the Android platform, siri runs only on the iPhone4S platform and Evi on the other hand is compatible with virtually all iPhones and iPads. There is even an Android version of Evi. With this kind of technology incorporated into your mobile device, your mobile phone can do a lot of things you can ask your mobile phone questions like "how old is president obama?, what part of Africa is Nigeria located?" and funny questions like "will you be my friend?" Will you marry me? To mention a few. Lol... So with this so called "thinking smartphone" LG is coming out with which they stated will be responsive to a user's particular needs, I think by then we will be able to ask questions like: Am I pregnant? Why is president Obama black? Why is Nigeria so corrupt? I'm waiting o.......... |

For an average Nigerian, 1G, 2G, 3G and 4G are the most commonly seen terms when it comes to mobile technology. Now this is what you don’t know. The “G” here stands for generation of mobile technology, installed in phones and on cellular networks. 1G is for analog phones, during this period mobile internet has not resurrected in Nigeria (thanks to Baba Sege) well, in the year 1992 the second generation came alive. 2G marked the birth of digital phones, GPRS which means (General packet radio service) represents data transmission in 2G. One practical advantage of GPRS when considering speed is that 6-10 SMS messages can be sent when sent over GSM whereas 30 SMS messages can be sent per minute when sent over GPRS. It has a data transmission rate of 114kbps (kilobytes per second). Most of the phones, excluding some smart phones we use in Nigeria run on GPRS and EDGE. EDGE 2.5G (Enhanced data rate for global evolution) also came alive which was in between the 2nd generation and the evolution of the 3rd generation. In the year 2003, the 3rd generation mobile network (3G) came to the U.S. this has a minimum internet speed of 144kbps which could go as high as 400kbps and above. There are a bunch of technologies that fall under 3G which includes (WCDMA, EV-DO, and HSPA among others). So depending on what you see on your modem, be it MTN, Visafone, GLO, Multilinks etc. It’s still 3G. 4G represents the 4th generation of mobile technology, according to IMT-Advanced (International mobile telecommunications Advanced. To be able to qualify as 4G technology, speed of up to 100mbps (megabytes per second) for moving users and 1gbps (gigabytes per second) for stationary users must be transmitted. As with 3G, 4G has a bunch of technologies that falls under it as well. Here we have (LTE, WiMAX and UMB). In Nigeria, Swift transmits using WiMAX which can be classified as Pre-4G or 3.9G claims to be providing us with 4G transmission, as a Nigerian have you ever seen an internet speed close to 1gbps? Be the judge………… |
