Sorry about the delay of the timeline I applied to RMIT (June/July intake)-Feb 2017 Got admission-June 2017 Medicals, Biometric and Visa application-June 2017 V.O requested for Canadian visa refusal Explanation, SOA, WAEC Scratch Card-July 2017 Additional information Uploaded –July 2017 V.O requested for late arrival letter to be uploaded due to some delay from RMIT I had to defer to the next intake which was Feb. 2018. Naso RMIT refuse to give me new COE because school fee has been revised and the money in the previous SOA doesn’t meet the new revised school fees requirement. My agent mailed and called trying to convince them but all they want is to see is new SOA which must meet the new requirement and V.O keep requesting for this updated COE for like 1.5 months. He/she keep sending mail for the updated COE like every two weeks ( am sure he/she wanted to grant me the visa then but the hustle for the updated C.O.E. no be here ooooo ) I had to apply to university of Adelaide when RMIT refused giving new COE. Bear it mind that V.O is still waiting for this new COE. I think the V.O was forced to denied the application with the reason that there was no valid COE only. I just dey vex say which kind wahala school be this ,but them no force me to apply for their school na and my vex no even cross Muritala airport. Naso I gba kamu Adelaide gave me the new COE and I reapplied -21 Dec. 2017 Biometric -22 Dec. 2017 V.O requested for Canadian visa refusal Explanation-02 Feb. 2018 Additional information Uploaded –09 Feb. 2018 I keep checking my status like 5-10 times daily because school resumes 14TH Feb. 2018 Checked visa status 3:00 pm 15th Feb. 2018 Got a call from my agent 3:17 pm 15th Feb. 2018 my visa has been granted. Didn’t believed because I just checked like 15mins a go. I had to log in to confirm. As in I see am ehenn, I just dey laugh for work like say I win 1 billion dollars lotto. For every one that is still waiting for his/her grant just stay optimistic and be prayerful. It will surely end in praise Document submitted COE for M.Eng Mechanical G.T.E/SOP (I explained my RMIT delayed here to easy the V.O some wahala) Transcript First degree certificate Waec Result Yellow Card Birth Certificate Passport Data page Resume Ielts result Employment Letter |

mjlbabajide: Good to hear heaps of people are getting their grants. I was quite active around this time last year. I remember our grant arrived on the 17 of january last year and arrive Oz 14th Fed.
However, that is not why i am writing. I read some posts about using panadol, and men crying due to how hard they work here.
So quickly want to advice on managing your expectations.
You have 2 options upon arrival, namely; working hard or working smart.
Working hard is when you have no tickets nor certification and you want to work. You will most likely get hard work. Bearing in mind that every employment will request your visa b4 offering you any job, secondly, because of studies you might be unable to work normal hours, so that leaves you with shift jobs to survive. 6am - 2pm shift, 4pm - midnight, 10pm to sunrise and so on.
However, it becomes easier to get good paying jobs, bordering around $30 to 40 an hour if you obtain a forklift license(cost 400AUD) or HR or MR truck lincence( 1000plus AUD), Australia is a logistics country, anything logistics and warehouse sells. We import almost everything, so they have to be stored, moved and distributed. Anywhere along that supply chain has good money and constant work.
Disability certificate(1200AUD duration one month), try and obtain a disability certificate as soon as you arrive, being a welfare based country, millions of people living with disability has to be catered for by law. You can earn btw 27 to 30 on weekdays, double that on weekends and maybe night shifts. It is the easiest job, so far you can stand the sight of cerebral palsy girl, or a boy with fown sydrome. Ofcourse, the job will include some manual handling. Catch is that you most likely will need an Australian drivers license to get into the door. In some cases the license alone gets you in, even without the cert course.
Or get and RIW ticket, work railway and get paid 50/hr.
Now, your question is, what do i do in the interim, well, go get a job at nandos, macca's or any fastfood while you work on obtaining any of those. If you are going to sydney, apply to UNrefugees as face2face fundraisers, they always look for new comers, cos old timers will do the job. Atleast you will fetch upkeep and rent till you are able to sort yourself.
What am trying to pass across is simple, no relocation is easy, even if it is from Lagos to Kano, or from dopemu to shagamu it is always tedious in the begining.
Plan ahead, research, stay positive, avoid fines Thanks dear It's really an eye opener and pre-Australia hustle. |

Ethelia: yes. you risk having your student visa refused. applying for pr shows the officer you intend to remain in Canada. they might feel that if your pr application is refused and you are granted a student visa you might be willing to remain illegally. #my2cents Thanks |

abiodun56: U can import the application, just go to the immi website, create immiaccount, enter transaction reference no, type of visa, Date of birth, passport no. I will advise u to only be a SPECTATOR. Importing ur application won't affect the agent from accessing ur profile. Thanks |

Engr2000: Evening All,
1. I need transcript from Unilorin, anybody with a contact that can make it faster.
2. I have send my wife certificates to WES and it is taking them longer time to review it, though the certificates are in her maiden name while we register for WES with my surname. Anybody with similar challenge.
I look forward to your response. Please any update on NASU (Unilorin chapter ). Applied for transcript since early December and yet to get it sent to WES. |

Solitin40: Student visa updates !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A. From 1 February 2018: The cost of annual living amounts will increase inline with Australia’s consumer price index. From this date, every application where evidence of funds is required should include the updated cost of living amounts in their calculation of funds:
Student or guardian: AUD$20,290 Partner or spouse: AUD$7,100 Child: AUD$3,040
So, applicants applying for a student visa from 1/02/2018 must ensure that they provide sufficient fund as per the new changes mentioned above.
B. Attach documents upfront:
The Department can make a decision on a student visa application with the information provided, there is no requirement to request more information. Student visa applicants subject to regular evidentiary requirements must attach evidence of financial capacity, including evidence of genuine access to those funds. Evidence of English proficiency or being exempt must also be attached. Failure to provide these documents may lead to a visa refusal.
Applicants should ensure ‘Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) statements’ provide sufficient information and supporting documentation is attached to the application. The applicant should explain any gaps in study or employment and, where relevant, address the reasons the student is studying in a field unrelated to their previous study or employment. The applicant must explain how completing the study will help them fulfil their future plans. The statement must reflect the student’s circumstances, generic statements will not be weighed heavily in the GTE assessment. Thanks for the update but can you please provide us the reference link as well |
