Assuming the amount of money you quoted is true and correct, I would like to ask you these question.
1, is it the Niger Delta Leaders that asked the Federal ministry of transport / maritime or NPA not to site a sea port that would encourage economic activities in the Niger Delta? rather for unexplained reason chose to retain Lagos for the said purpose even when there are obvious features suggesting some coastal ND towns/cities would make better sea ports than Lagos
2,Is it the Niger Delta leaders that asked the Federal government not to make any reasonable effort in pushing the multinationals to re mediate the pollution in the environment? When spills occur all the government thinks about is how to resume oil lifting and not our Environment.
3. is it the Niger delta leaders that told the Federal Government that the creeks in the deltas forbids bridges like the third mainland bridge in Lagos?
4 is it the ND leaders that have made constant power supply difficult to achieve despite the amount Obasanjos govt claimed it put into it?
5 ,is it the same Niger delta leaders that just told the Nigerian Government to recruit 250 people into the Nigerian army with or without WAEC ? note no Niger deltan was considered for this illegal recruitment exercise yet we produces the revenue. they called them civilian JTF, how many of our niger Delta local vigilante groups have been converted to army/soldiers since the history of Nigeria?
The tactics of inciting people of Niger delta against their leaders(not saying they are completely innocent) is just too poor when there are clear indications that the Federal government is inflicting more pains on us. if they leave you guys you would blame the ND leaders for lack of oxygen in the grave.
we need resource control in ND, with that we can confidently hold our leaders accountable for their actions. the pains of permanently loosing my limited land and waters to pollution while the money is being used to develop other parts is something that cannot be tolerated without crying out loud. I would like you to go read about the NDDC's challenges , achievements , failures and source of fund. you would find out that by design , NDDC gets only 15% of its Funds from the Federal Govt, 50% from NDDC state govt as ecological funds, while the rest from multinationals. please if truly you are from NDDC, like you claimed, know it that the greatest weapon of the oppressor is the Mind of the oppressed and that liberation can only take place for those who understand they are in bondage
