I think this is somewhat of a deceptive utterance by the prime minister to politicise the subject matter and divert the blame of anti Britishness to the female muslim British community.If you think about it, a majority of these women his referring to are either Pakistani, Indian or Bangladeshi who prefer the company of their fellow country women including the Hindu Indian women - which is to say it is a cultural thing rather than a religious "Muslim" thing. There is no Islamic law that forbids one from learning other languages instead it encourages it and enjoys one to travel as far as China to gain knowledge - which is very long journey in the ancient times. Britain's cosmopolitan nature should be one that encourages culture instead of trying to do away with it with cheap political propaganda; afterall the British are not well known for learning other languages regardless of how long they might have spent a foreign land - they are well revered in countries like Thailand due to their antisocial behaviour and lack of acculturation sense. All in all this is just a ploy to cry out his frustration as Britain looses it's relevance as well known 'cultural brand'.
