The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) has explained how the controversial "Self-Certification Form" differs from other financial identification policy in Nigeria

The FIRS said on its Twitter page that the government designed the Form for people who live in Nigeria but pay their taxes abroad.

Holders of 'reportable persons" accounts also need the Form.

As it stands now, Nigerians have a lot of data collection platforms like the Bank Verification Numbers (BVN). Others include National Identification Numbers (NIN), passport, driver's license, SIM card registration and voters' card.

So, many Nigerians believe the information required to fill the self-certification form are already available in the national identification platforms listed above.

Therefore, Candiidonline presents seven important facts you should know about the controversial self certification form:

1. It's not for all bank account holders

2. The form is only for entities (persons or corporate organizations) with international presence. For example Nigerians in diaspora, and foreigners in Nigeria.

3. The policy concerns an international agreement Nigeria signed which allows the exchange of Tax Information between countries.

4. This international agreement will help to stop tax evasion among citizens of member countries.

5. It will also apply to Nigerians who own foreign businesses and foreigners who own Nigerian businesses (once you have 10% shares of any such business).

6. This policy also affects people with dual citizenship.

7. However, if you fall under the policy bracket, you don't need to physically go inside any bank to register. Just download the forms online, fill them, and send am to your bank through email.

But, if you don't fall under these categories you are not affected.

Nigeria Airforce has released the shortlist of successful candidates for their 2020 recruitment exercise.

In July, the force officially opened the 2020 registration exercise for people interested in becoming Airmen and Airwomen.

However, NAF via its official Twitter handle urged applicants to check their status on its official website.

Selection Interview at the NAF Base, Kawo - Kaduna will take place from 24 Sep - 12 Nov 2020.

Originals and Photocopies of their Credentials.
White vests.
2 Blue PT Shorts.
One Pair of Canvas Shoes.

Face Masks.

JOHESU, the Joint Health Workers Union of Nigeria, have embarked on a nationwide strike from today.

JOHESU (the trade union of nurses and midwives, medical lab scientists and other health workers who help doctors in Nigerian public hospitals) asked its members to withdraw their services in all public hospitals, labs and clinics across the country).

The Nigerian health workers reached this decision after the National Executive Council of JOHESU had a meeting during the weekend.

In a statement they released, the health workers said JOHESU had given the Nigerian federal government one week to address all their issues. But the government did nothing.
