We all have a right to our opinions. But if with all the provocations the US is meting out on China (as it regards Taiwan and the South China Sea) and China still can't do anything militarily, other than to rant, then China is afraid to dare you he US in a war.

1. The US will defeat China in a war and if it comes at a great cost to the US, it means China will no longer exists on the world map.

2. China military is not at par with the US military.

Concerning those submarines nobody has the monopoly of operating silent subs. US,Britain, Russia, and Chinese diesel electric subs are equally deadly.
China also has its submarine patrolling the south China sea undetected. In fact there was even an incident in the east China sea where a Chinese submarine was known to have trailed a US aircraft carrier group with its Japanese destroyer counterpart undetected even well within torpedo range. If it's in conflict that's how they would have destroyed the carrier.
Infact US have reported on some occasions of sighting Chinese submarine sailing close to the area of a naval exercise. A Russia sub once even sailed in the gulf of Mexico close to US mainland undetected. It was after its mission when pulling aways that it was discovered.
So running undercover submarine operation is not peculiar to the US alone. Also generally submarine are harder to detect.

In a simulated naval exercise with its NATO allies. A French diesel electric submarine was said to destroy a US aircraft carrier with more than half of its battle group and still slip away undetected. It was after this simulation that US eyes even becomes more open knowing the genuine threat a small less expensive diesel electric submarine can possess. And China have this in enough numbers and still even building more.
China is not Iran guy. Even against iran US will have to think twice, so never underestimate them.

He's right you can't compare it to US made aircraft carriers. Operating a carrier is not only about the system, you'll also need an effective doctrine and personnel effectiveness which the US carriers operation far exceeded that of China. This is a lesson the US has learnt in sweet and blood over 70 decades.

The ship began construction in Shanghai in 2018 and is China’s first domestically-developed aircraft carrier.

China has officially launched its third aircraft carrier, naming the vessel the Fujian.

China’s state media said the country’s latest and most advanced warship was launched “in a short but festive ceremony” on Friday morning at the China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC) shipyard in Shanghai where it has been under construction since 2018.

Once the naming certificate had been handed to the Fujian’s commanding officer, the ribbon was cut to officiate the launch and the ship left the dock, the state-run Global Times said.

The Fujian is China’s first fully domestically developed aircraft carrier, and uses electromagnetic catapults and arresting devices to enable planes to take off and land on its deck, it added. The ship has a displacement of more than 80,000 tons, it added.

The Fujian will now start mooring and sea trials.

The launch of the Fujian is part of an ongoing effort to modernise the People’s Liberation Army Navy (PLA Navy), which already has two fully-functioning aircraft carriers, the Soviet-era Liaoning and the domestically-built Shandong whose design was based on the Liaoning.

The Fujian and a fourth carrier, which is also under construction, are larger and able to carry more aircraft than the two existing vessels. The South China Morning Post reported in March last year that the fourth carrier might be nuclear-powered.

The Centre for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) said earlier this week that the Fujian was about to be launched, sharing satellite imagery that showed the dry dock holding the Fujian had been flooded and pennant flags strung along the ship’s flight deck.

I don't know where you got your history book from but actually it was the Chinese that was slaughtered. There number advantage was evident on the Chinese side but the casualty figure was not sustainable for any nation except communist nation.
