Nevertheless, we know Ukraine have so far fought the Russians with inferior weapons in this Donbas battle. The West have been reluctant to arm Ukraine with similar weapons the Russians are using.
By the time Ukraine get long-range artillery et al, Russia will be chased out of the conquered territories.

Russia have suffered huge casualties all the same but have enough men and ammunition to replenish. Ukraine don't have such luxury.

The war is far from over. Only some battles have been lost.

About the Patriot defense system, i watched in a week as the Houthis bombed Saudi Aramco 3 times. I dont know about the THAAD but Patriot is useless.

Man while it's understandable that civilian casualiities always occurs in confrontation. But you can't measure Russian level of devastation to that of the US. Do you see the effects of Russia war in Chenchen and that of Georgia. Russia largely really on unguided munitions and rocket barrage. In times of guided/smart munitions US has far more than Russia and they readily employ it in engagements despite its more expensive. But the way its employed its now the source of arguments, they can waste a single million dollars bomb just on few terrorists on a building or level an entire city block. Look at their actions against ISIS in Syria/Iraq during the height of the caliphate, can Russian sustain that amount of shorties even so with the different smart bombs US are using. It's recently Russian has started employing guided bombs in large part of its operation even so its still limited as the bulk of their munitions are unguided. Concerning Ukraine, they are many international watchers and you will even agree that Russia is restricting its self for a full blown devastating attack. If not you'll be seeing level of destruction as in Chechnya.

Patriot missiles has proven their effectiveness in recent times, no account did Isreal or even Saudi officials mention the patriot to be ineffective even as of late last year, Saudi officials are even pleading with the US and other regional power to help replenish their low missile number to show its been effective. An independent assessment even show that since 2015 patriot systems in the middle east has intercepted more than 150 different projectiles with an effectiveness greater than 90%. In terms of usage, successful engagement and battlefield experience the patriot is far ahead of the s400 as we are yet to witness the s400 in action and even more so against ballistic/cruise missiles. But on paper the s400 is ticking all the boxes.
