@Bowale007
I doubt there are agents that sell CAD in Canada for Naira. But this trade of CAD to Naira and vis versa is common among Nigerian community groups on Whatsapp and Telegram.
You might join, and see who has CAD to sell for Naira. It is common. As at today via NS Whatsapp Group CAD is 485 per $1.
All the best.

You are already at your wit-end, the good news you have been expecting will arrive any moment from now.

We look forward to reading your testimony.
Congratulations

chuksinfotech:
You really don't seem to understand what @Hafeez6948 was saying. If you do, you won't make this statement.

Just brief about my story

I started my studies online in September 2020 due to Covid-19 and in the same month applied for my Study Permit. I was denied the permit due to insufficiency of funds, but due to resilience continued my studies till date.

After putting together some funds and getting funding opportunities, I reapplied for the study permit the second time on the 30th of October, 2021 and since then I have not received any official feedback.

It is more than 8 months now, I have written to IRCC several times and it has always been the generic mail response. Last month I applied for Global Case Management System (GCMS) Notes and it states, "Based on the LOA, funds, and documents provided, PA appears to be a BF student."

Which means I am a bonafide Student, but till now I have not gotten my approval.

I have been praying, fasting, joining NSPPD prayer sessions, and enlisted pastors and colleagues to pray along with me for funding and approval. I have doubted God, broken, depressed, and at a point beer no dey even high me because prayers wasn't calming my mind down.

Nothing on this earth made any sense any longer. I was fighting everyone at work above all can you fight God?

I have still gone back to him, I am now 28 days into my fast and Saturday it would be nine (9) months since I reapplied for my Study permit.

So if it is about your faith in God IRCC would shake it, and make you doubt God. @Hafeez6948 is simply stating bitter truth. I had the option of heading to US and Australia even for PhD and I refused and choose Canada. See am nah, I am now going back and seeking for same admissions I ignored for the almighty Canada.

Omo you no go understand the feeling, we are all in this journey differently. I don't want to start stating the personal details of what I have lost cos I fixated my mind on Canada

Cheers and lets encourage one another on this journey it is not easy. The rich ones are not on nairaland nah calls them dey put

How long have you left the university?
To be eligible for accelerated nursing please check the school's requirements.
I can only inform you of the requirements and course prerequisites from Dalhousie University.
Also WAEC is valid only for new entry level, not accelerated.
Accelerated Nursing, you need:
A minimum average of B- in each of Anatomy, Physiology (6 CR or 3 CR + Biological Science 3 CR), Statistics, Microbiology and English is required.

ii. Subject requirements:

Anatomy
Physiology (or PHYL + Biological Science )
Statistics or equivalent
Microbiology or equivalent
English or equivalent writing course
1 Science elective
3 Open electives

Bimluv:
Congratulations to all who have gotten their PPR and for all who are still waiting, receive your PPR in Jesus mighty name !!!
Please guys I would like to ask questions regarding admission into the after degree or accelerated nursing degree and here are they:

1. Will I be needing my WAEC result or I just need to make use of my 1st degree certificate?

2. I was a science student in sec school,i had a pass in mathematics, will this affect my chances in gaining admission?

3. I have a degree in Guidance and counseling with an upper class,I offered statistics course in 200 and 400 level and I had a B in both, can this cover the o level mathematics deficiency? Or can it be waived

4. If the above won't work then do I need to rewrite WAEC(I don't mind)? I already have an healthcare assistant certificate and this has intensify my wish to become a certified and licenced nurse using this accelerated nursing degree pathway.

Thanks in anticipation

To apply for B.ScN, you need your WEAC result submit a scratch card to your institution of choice, provide them with your exam number, year and other relevant details.
Also, you might be given the opportunity to fast track it which makes it 2 years instead of 3.
Although, this comes with some conditions such as you must not have graduated from the university for more than 10 years.
You need to have some mandatory prerequisites in Science such as Biology, Anatomy, Statistics and much more.
If you have graduated for more than 10 years, you must want to consider a 1 year program to complete the required prerequisites.
You also need a test called Casper test.
Most school commence Nursing application in October for the next school year in the fall.
You can start your inquires now, so that you get admission. Although, it is one of the most competitive program in Canada.
You might meet all the admission requirements,
and still not get in. It has the longest wait list ever.
It is not impossible as long as you set your mind to achieve it.
All the best.

You are actual right, I recall when my parents applied for visitor visa in Feb 2020, they didn't hear back from IRCC until Dec 31st, 2020. Meanwhile, the application had been refused since March, 2020.

It is better for you to book a flight with your destination to New Brunswick. Don't think of using local flights from Toronto, Montreal or wherever, it is quite expensive. You will be shocked to pay about 1000 cad for flight and still pay for your bags seperately.

You need to apply to the school of your choice for either the 3 years Nursing or Advanced Nursing as long as you haven't been out of school for more than 10 years.
For the advanced Nursing, you need to have some prerequisites such as Anatomy, Biologicalscience, statistics, English and other courses as required by the school. It is also mandatory in Canada that you have the Casper Test done, this is just to know the state of your mind in terms of the ethics guiding the Nursing profession.
You could also consider Community colleges for LPN,which is a 2 years program.

You are only permitted to take 15 unit course per semester.
This can be upgraded if you have a certain GPA the previous year.
Also, tuition fee is based on the cost of each course.
The fee for each semester can differ based on couse fee.

Landing gist

Nigeria.

My flight was 11pm, June 27. I planned to get to lagos airport very early. I left for the airport at 3pm arrived

Lagos airport was very chaotic.
I willl advice you arrive very early. I figured I had excess luggage and what I was carrying as my carry on bag was too big. I wasn't perturbed I was ready for it. I rearranged my bag and paid for one bag extra

Then I went to check-in at Air France desk.
They said they need to profile my passport and ask for documents. (In my mind I was like when Naija start to dey sound sweet like this. In my mind I was like Oga which documents do you need im ready for you!)

He only asked for Arrive CAN..vaccination card and international passport. He signed and added a white slip behind my passport saying Im cleared I should go and check in.

Then we waited in this long Nigerian immigration ( before you join this line they give you a yellow form to fill..just join the line with your phone... The line was sooo long and their system was down for like 45 minutes. 3 or more people missed their flight... Again got to Nigerian airport early.

Then we proceeded to board at the right to time.
The food in air France was really nice.
Tasted like yam and stew porridge...the type in the Esau Used to sell his birthright loool. We landed in CDQ airport France. At 6:25 am on 28th

The airport was different, better and more excellent than the Nigerian airport. I had to plan myself for my next 10 hours layover. I asked if I have access to a lounge...they said I have to pay 50 euros for it. My seat mate at the lagos to Paris trip was going to Toronto too..so we were navigating everything together

France CDQ airport is very awesome no hassles. Everything here is computerised. Just swipe your boarding pass and direction shows in a computerised map.

But the issue was our flight to Toronto wasn't showing on the screen yet because it was like 9 hours away nor was it written on our boarding pass. We asked one of the officials..she scanned my boarding pass and viola! My Gate appeared.. Gate K55. We had to navigate to The K area of the airport...we used a train to get there.

When I got to the gate area....then Place was really soft and chill. They had normal chairs.. Sleeping stretchers... And sofa beds. I slept for like 3 hours woke up..got something to eat... Connected to airport wifi... Make calls updated my folks about the trip and all...

My flight to Toronto was 4:40pm...they opened the line to board at 3:20pm

Here they asked for letter of introduction. (I heard the Indians murmuring that this is new..they never ask that here)

I boarded.. We took off...at 4:50pm... Landed at 7:00pm Canadian time...but there was a long queue...so we had to come out of the plane at 7:24pm

There was a really long walk...to the self service machine before getting to immigration for the study permit.

Where you scan your passport..and print a ticket..this ticket is what determines the line you join.. They were a lot of people! Especially from Ukraine.

I joined the study permit line. They were like 50 people ahead of me. When it got to my turn.... The VO was looked calm... I told him he has a nice haircut.. The guy smiled..he was like no one has told him that all day... So he asked for my passport.. Said he will need my Letter of introduction...so I brought out my file..he was like wao I came ready.. I go..you bet! lol...

He said I had a back charge and PFL from last year....I was like yeah. He said he sees that I made the payment. I told him I have 2 friends that have the same issue and they have waited for up to a year (the guys are in this group) he said he would have asked for their UCI but there is some confidentiality clause around that. That they should send a webform stating all the details.

Then he went to print my study permit. Then he said welcome to Canada!

I left...my bags were waiting for me.

The person to pick me up was waiting. I left the airport at 9:16 pm (Toronto time)

The most common phone brand in Canada is Apple and Samsung. It is best you get any of them.
Also, for Sim card, it is advisable you do contract post paid, that comes with internet roughly $35-40 depending on the provider.
Most network providers will give out great deals from now up until September. Although not uncommon to get excellent deal during the year.
You will probably need home wifi, if you are not staying in an hostel or with a relative, don't go for the Bell network, though it's the best but pricey about $95 monthly. Look for eastlink, purple cow and the other sub network company.
PatrickOkunima:
Thanks for sharing. Your post was very helpful. One question please, which brand of mobile phone we use here works in Canada?

Spicy12345:
Its PPR guys. Long Post alert

I have been a silent reader of Nairaland since the beginning of this year and everything that led to this point (obtaining our PPR), Nairaland contributed to it.
We started this journey in 2021. I started off with some countries which eventually did not work out. My husband had applied to a couple of schools and we either received rejections or no responses at all. Fast forward to January, my sister was leaving for Canada at the time and came visiting so I requested that she helped apply to a school. We followed up and received admission to Centennial College for a Postgraduate Certificate program in Cybersecurity. It is also worthy to note that we applied to several schools in the UK, I think about 6 or 7 of them and got admission to all.
Amidst all these, my husband insisted on Canada.
We applied for my husband's Study visa, my Spousal Open Work Permit and a Visiting Visa for my 19 months daughter on the 1st of April, 2022. This happened when everywhere I turned to for assistance on how to proceed with these applications kept giving warning signs for my husband to apply alone. My husband insisted that we all apply together and back it up with prayers and I agreed.
We gathered all our documents and applied with faith and the wait started. Sometimes, I would wake up in the middle of the night and say my prayers sometimes with tears. Sometimes, I and my husband would find it difficult to sleep at night. I would disturb my sister from time to time even during her busy schedule just to find out if there was anything to do to hasten the process. I am not a very patient person but my husband who has more patience among the both of us started to worry too on the 1st of June. We kept praying and hoping that God comes through.
I felt our application could be better but believed God will use the documents we had submitted to speak for us. We noticed that his passport was due to expire in October and then we decided to apply for that as quickly as possible.
On the 5th of June, my husband came back home worried which increased my worry as well but we kept telling each other that our application was more complex so it may take them a while to get to it.
On the 7th of June at around 7:30am, my husband called my attention and, in his words, "it is already happening o"
I ran to his phone and saw 3 emails with "do not reply", my heart skipped several beats and I remember saying to him, if we were rejected, we fire again.
I went straight for the laptop but was not fast enough as I kept shaking. My husband grabbed it and signed in.
At this point, I hissed and said aloud "Eligibility just started and its a ghost update", then he said hold on let me scroll down and there it was Original Passport Request. I screamed my lungs out.
Our timeline:
GCKey 1st time applicant
Application: 1st of April, 2022
Upfront medicals: 26t of March and updated to pass on the 21st of April, 2022
Biometrics: 14th of April, 2022
PPR for Study, SOWP, and VV on the 8th of June.

I would say it has been God and I am putting this out there to encourage people most especially families who are too afraid to apply together. Do it, research, make your application as tight as possible, and back it up with prayers. I reached out to only one person on this thread who happened to be going to the same school as my husband, @centennialguy, thank you for your help, I appreciate it.
I wish everyone the best and to all PPR hopefuls, your time is now.

It will end in praise

Yes, they said when I had Biometricsin 2021, they gave me a document which I ought to bring with me for PPR submission. But since I didn't have it, I need to pay almost 9000 naira.
Now, from what you have said, the 9000 was for nothing.

olasubomy:
Please, explain this situation just for clarity, do mean 9,000 naira cash was collected from you at VFS office?
TravelRe: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by Hanzat: 3:09pm On Apr 28, 2022
Thank you for the feedback.
This means I ought not to pay 9000 at Lekki VFS.
Also, they shouldn't have asked that I send it via DHL to Kenya when it can be processed in Lagos or Abuja.
Do you have an idea on how to track it.
I wonder why they put me through this stress and collected money from me for no reason.
Many thanks.

olasubomy:
You are not supposed to submit your document physically. The only acceptable means of passport collection ( once your passport is requested by IRCC) is by courier dispatch. Send through DHL to your desired VFS either Lagos or Abuja.
TravelRe: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by Hanzat: 3:02pm On Apr 28, 2022
An inquiry from the gurus!
I took my passport, Biometrics letter and the PPR letter to Lagos VFS on the 22nd of April.
They asked I pay about 9,000 naira because I didn't come with a form initially issued when I had Biometrics in 2021.
They later redirected me to DHL to send my passport and other documents to Kenya.
Could you advise why so?
I see people submitting at Lagos VFS why was mine different.
Would appreciate your feedback.
TravelRe: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by Hanzat:
I agree with @DrStrangelove on the length of stay which could be the issue.
I had an experience at Dallas POE during my 3rd trip to the US. The CBP asked for my passport, and before we coule say jack Robinson, he said am sending you back. I asked back where? He then asked that I thumbprint, but before I could proceed to do as asked, with plenty prayers going on in my head, He realized he made a mistake, and called for his supervisors to come over. When they arrived, they asked are we sending them back, he said No, I made a mistake. Could you please override.
I had to ask, he didn't realize my last visit was for childbirth, hence he was wondering what I was doing in the US for 3 months, it wasn't until he saw my less than a year old daughter, and her US passport that he realized he made a mistake. Sometimes the duration of stay is the redflag. Hopefully, you have it resolved soon.

DrStrangelove:
fkj950ax, it's better to err on the side of caution. Remember, by default, these people don't want to issue u anybody visa. Staying two months doing what outside their home country? Feeding birds everyday in the recreational park! As an individual, it's either ur a dependent or not. It's in either ur in school or working. If ur working, max leave u can have is 6 weeks (hope am right) for some organization. Even not everybody would want to use all that time to travel as they would leave some weeks out for some local activities.

Except ur going on study leave or ur giving birth, I would advise don't make it an habit. U might be right that some people use 2 months wch is okay since the CBP officer will stamp u in normally for 6 months validity. U might be right that some people do two months back to back on their concurrent visa, but what about renewal? Have they gone to do their renewals of their visas? They might be renewed depending on the time of day, the VO, the VO's reasoning and mood and ur story. The VO will look at it being the formation of a habit as he/she will be thinking u went to do holidays for that long to be doing what. By their timing, u should be getting tired of the holiday by the second week. When they (the Americans) travel to Europe or the Carribeans for their own holiday, do u think they spend 2 months on such trips? They that they don't have the time to even get to travel out of their country. Me myself, by the second or third week max am tired already. Except ur rich and can buy up experiences or travelling around the US to visit family and friends or ur on a paid engagement/tour. I have seen people been denied visa because of the length of time (about 2 months) since 2018, most with good history and all, so we figured it was the length of stay. Before 2018, u could do 5 months or anytime within the validity stamped on ur passport but not now. Remember that most won't fill in 2 months in their initial application, they would fill 2-4weeks max. Before long, 2 months will turn to 3 months and so on.

Now am not sure, if people with history of stay for about 2 months are being called for follow-up interview after Dropbox. Don't just give the VOs any reason to make things harder for u. Most people won't tell u their real stories. It's an advice, so u can take it or continue telling people to do 2 months.

As for the OP, u have revealed more details about the situation which is now putting it in proper context. First off, we should try as much as to adhere to what we filled in our application forms. Any sharp deviation is a Redflag. The VO knows life happens so there could be changes to ur travelling arrangements from time to time. There's no crime in this. Am sure u guys didn't fill in 2 months stay when u were applying with ur mum. There is usually no issues during the use of a concurrent visa which is still active and not cancelled. It's in the renewal that issues come up. I think the cancellation and actions on the Redflags started with the refusal of ur mum's visa. That would have told u of signs to come. U guys broke up to travel in the first instance (which is as a result of the dad's accident) and are now breaking up to re-travel starting with ur mums renewal. Ur sister slipped thru the ranks because she applied for J1( exchange program) visa which am thinking had to do with study/school and had a strong claim backing that application.

The truth the embassy will never let u know why they refused u a visa, they use a blanket immigration clause 214(b) to deny the visa. U will get the same polite reply that u should reapply and all that Everytime. They can't even reveal it to by u of they could. At the interview, u can ask or u shud have asked but again it's at the discretion of the VO. She/He might give u heads up. As per revealing it or cancelling the visa when ur mum went to renew, it wasn't u applying at that time so they wouldn't have told ur mum or sent u a notification. It was already an anecdote when ur case note was culled up by the VO when u went to renew.
