Politics / IPOB, ESN Threatening My Life - Joe Igbokwe Writes IGP, South-East Governors by Happened: 12:34pm On Aug 23, 2021
Biafra: IPOB, ESN threatening my life – Joe Igbokwe writes IGP, Igbo govs, others

Joe Igbokwe, an aide to the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has alleged a threat to his life by the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.

Igbokwe alleged that IPOB was threatening his life because he is against the philosophy of the group and the Eastern Security Network, ESN.

In an open letter, the Ohanaeze Ndigbo chieftain described ESN as bandits bullying, threatening, killing, and destroying people of the Southeast.

Igbokwe addressed the letter to the Inspector General of Police, Anambra Police Commissioner, Commander of the Intelligence Response Team, IRT, Igbo governors, House of Representatives members, and other stakeholders in the Southeast. Catholic Prayers

The letter reads partly: “A mother chicken says she is crying out to the world that a Kite stole her chick not because she can do anything to retrieve the stolen sibling but to let the world hear her voice. I am sure most of us would have seen the continuous threat to my life and the life of those of us who do not agree with the philosophy of IPOB and ESN bandits on Biafra agitation via armed struggle.

“Today they are getting bolder, threatening, bullying, killing, destroying and decimating the economy of Igboland. Today the bandits say they have power over life and death in Igboland. The bandits and Children of hate say they have banned me from coming to Igboland. The latest threat is that I should prepare to die. This is unacceptable in the 21st Century.

“Blind people should not lead people with eyes. People we do not know their upbringing, their pedigree, what they do for a living, who their fathers and their mothers we do not know are telling us they are the owners of Igboland. We cannot take this anymore. We will confront history. I will not allow Soap to enter my eyes when I have buckets of water with me. You do not tell the deaf and the dumb that war has started. When he sees others running he will join them.”

Recall that a self-acclaimed disciple of IPOB’s leader, Nnamdi Kanu, Simon Ekpa, had warned that Igbokwe should be ready to die because Kanu will soon see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Crime / NSCDC Arrest Tricycle Rider While Allegedly Kidnapping Pupils In Katsina by Happened: 7:31am On Aug 21, 2021
A 35-year-old man has been arrested for trying to kidnap two pupils of Family Support Programme Primary and Secondary School, GRA, Katsina.

The spokesman of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in the state, DSC Mohammed Tukur, paraded the suspect on Thursday at the command’s premises.

Officials of the corps, stationed in the school arrested the suspect who is said to be a resident of Ungwar Jangefe.

Tukur informed newsmen that the suspect was about to whisk away the pupils with his tricycle when their father who had come to pick them alerted the operatives of the development.

“During interrogation, the suspect confirmed to us that he was directed to pick the pupils by a man on a motorcycle and gave him the address of where to take them. Prayers For Breakthrough

“Not knowing that their father was around to pick them up, immediately the father saw them in the tricycle, he stopped him and alerted our operatives; and he was arrested,” Tukur said.

To uncover the suspect’s possible accomplices, the state Commandant, Mohammad Sanusi has given directives to the Intelligence Department to carry out further investigations

“After a full investigation, the suspect will be charged to court for prosecution,” the spokesperson said.

The Commandant advised parents to tread with extra caution when assigning someone to pick their children from school and to warn their wards against following strangers.

He equally advised the school authorities to be more vigilant and ensure that only authorised persons are allowed to pick the children from school.

However, the suspect while responding to questions from newsmen said it was a motorcycle rider who rode out of the school premises that directed him to drop the children at a particular area. But he said the man disappeared after he was arrested.

Politics / Dollar Bribes Received By Lawmakers To Pass PIB - Sahara Reporters by Happened: 1:17pm On Aug 20, 2021
EXPOSED: Dollar Bribes Received By Nigeria's Senate President, Lawan, House Speaker Gbajabiamila, Other Lawmakers To Pass Controversial Petroleum Bill - SaharaReporters

Lawan was paid $2 million (N823 million) while Gbajabiamila was paid $1.5 million (N617 million) as bribes.

Nigeria's Senate President, Ahmad Lawan and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila were paid in dollars (millions of naira) to ensure the passage of the controversial Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB) recently signed into law by President Muhammadu Buhari, SaharaReporters has learnt.

A top source told SaharaReporters that other federal lawmakers –senators and House of Representatives' members –also received bribes in dollars to ensure the passage of the bill.

"Lawan was paid $2 million (N823 million) while Gbajabiamila was paid $1.5 million (N617 million) as bribes,"
the source said.

The payment of the monies was said to have been facilitated by the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Timipre Sylva.

"Each senator was paid $20, 000 (N8.2 million) while members of the lower chamber (House of Representatives) were paid $5, 000 (N2 million) each," the source added.

The Nigerian Senate recently passed the Petroleum Industry Bill approving 3 per cent for host communities despite calls from various quarters that the provisions made for host communities should be reviewed upward.

The upper chamber passed the PIB, 2021 after the clause by clause consideration of the report of its joint committee on Petroleum (Upstream, Downstream and Gas) on PIB.

The Senate had before then, held a closed session with Sylva, and the Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, Mele Kyari.

Stakeholders had vehemently rejected the provisions of the bill in respect to the percentage ceded to host communities, urging Buhari not to sign the bill into law.

For instance, the Host Communities of Nigeria Producing Oil and Gas, HOST ON, said it was insulting for the Senate and House of Representatives to cede only three and five per cent equity shareholding respectively to the oil and gas producing communities in the Petroleum Industry Bill, passed.

Their president, Benjamin Tamanarebi said the PIB passed by NASS was a fruitless exercise and unacceptable to the host communities.

He was quoted as saying, “Imagine for over 63 years of neglect, deprivation and marginalisation of the aborigines who have suffered untold hardship in the midst of wealth, for the first time after many years of agitation, asking for only 10 per cent equity shareholding and the leadership of NASS is considering five per cent and three per cent viewing it that they have done us a favour.

“This is unacceptable and we reject the offer.

“It is our sole right as the aborigines, it is our land, it is our water ways, Nigeria is claiming it because we are from Nigeria state. Then why denying our rights to benefit, right to have clean environment, right to have potable water to drink, good hospital, electricity, good roads but leaving us in abject poverty, in a desecrated environment without considering the UNFCCC/ CDM criteria.

‘We will still study other areas in the Bill to address it in due course, for example, section 104 (2) on gas flaring where funds on penalty should be paid to the government, we reserve to study all sections, but is a fruitless exercise as usual,” he said.

In the approved bill, the Senate approved a funding mechanism of 30 per cent of NNPC’s profit from oil and gas for frontier basins. This fund is for oil exploration in frontier states.

However, in the report, the states referred to as ‘frontier basins’ were not clearly stated.

This had also generated controversies as it is provision is seen to be in favour of Northern states where oil exploration is being carried out.

In their July 5 meeting, governors of Nigeria’s southern states also rejected the proposed three per cent share to host communities in the Petroleum Industry Bill.

A communique issued by the governors at the end of their meeting in Lagos, said the governors, instead, supported five per cent share to the communities.

“However, the Forum rejects the ownership structure of the proposed Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC).

“The Forum disagrees that the company be vested in the Federal Ministry of Finance but should be held in trust by Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority (NSIA) since all tiers of Government have stakes in that vehicle,” it said.

Also, the Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF) rejected the three per cent approval for the development of host communities by the Senate.

The national publicity secretary of PANDEF, Ken Robinson, while reacting to the approval, said the government cannot transform the oil industry without transforming the communities in whose backyard the industry is operated.

“The region is the biggest victim of the fraudulent Nigerian Constitution we are using and the lopsided nature of the country. So, what played out is what is playing out in every aspect of the country, particularly under this President," he said.

A former Provost Marshal of the Nigerian Army, Brigadier-General Idada Ikponmwen, said the three-five per cent proposed as a benefit for host communities under the Host Community Trust, despite the abundant oil wells in their land, while 30 per cent is earmarked for exploration of oil in the northern part of the country in the PIB is an open invitation to anarchy.

He said: “The idea of three percent or five percent proposed as a benefit for host communities from oil proceeds while 30 per cent is embarked for exploration of oil in the northern part of the country clearly reveals arrogance, insensibility, disdain on part of the proponents of the PIB.

“Deeply examined, it is an open invitation to anarchy. This move cannot be acceptable to those who have borne the brunt of oil exploration and exploitation of oil and gas in Niger Delta, the President must be enjoined to reject the bill and have same returned to the National Assembly.”

Education / Iyaje Abuma Shedrack: UNIJOS Student Stabbed To Death By Suspected Hoodlums by Happened: 7:50am On Aug 20, 2021
100L UniJos student stabbed to death by suspected hoodlums after Governor Lalong relaxed curfew

A 100-level student of the University of Jos, Iyaje Abuma Shedrack, was reportedly stabbed to death by hoodlums around the permanent site of the school.

It was gathered the incident happened around 2:30 pm on Thursday, August 19, when normal activities were gradually returning in the state capital after Governor Simon Bako Lalong relaxed the 24-hour curfew.

The university’s Students Union Government (SUG) President, Comrade Danladi Joshua Adankala, who confirmed the development to newsmen in Jos, raised alarm over the continuous killings of students of by hoodlums. Daily Prayers

According to him, the victim had boarded a tricycle from the Permanent site of the University to the main campus when he was pulled out and stabbed to death.

"The student boarded a tricycle from the permanent site of the university to the main campus and suddenly on the road, he was pulled out and stabbed to death. Our tears for justice have generated nothing else than more pains, hurts, fears, sorrows and endless lamentations," he said.

"At the risk of being misunderstood, we dare to state that just within few hours of the unfortunate incident of 14th August, the security agencies combed the area and arrested more than 20 suspects as contained in the press statement issued by the Nigerian Police Force, Plateau State Command

"This means the security agencies can be effective but unfortunately, the innocent students of the University of Jos do not deserve such prompt attention and energy"

"If we really have a government that can respond swiftly to the Rukuba Road incident, one wonders what is happening to us the Students of the University of Jos. This is no doubt an affirmation of the saying that "all animals are not equal",

According to him, Federal and the State Government should as a matter of urgent priority expand the scope of transportation services available to students and staff both on and off campus adding that this will enable them to boycott the services of Keke and bike riders most of whom they suspect are among the attackers and killers.

Politics / Anambra Guber: Umeoji Reacts As INEC Publishes Soludo’s Name As APGA Candidate by Happened: 6:41am On Aug 20, 2021
The campaign organization of factional governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, in Anambra State, Chukwuma Umeoji, has rejected the decision of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to publish Charles Soludo as the governorship candidate of the party.

Umeoji said that INEC’s action is relevant and contempt of valid order of Owerri High Court, which affirmed his candidacy and action cannot survive his ongoing legal onslaught. Daily Prayers

Also, Jude Okeke, factional Chairman of the party also said he considers contempt proceedings against INEC, insisting that they remain the flag bearer of the party in the November election.

“The attention of the Ag. National Chairman of APGA, High Chief Jude Okeke, has been drawn to a Press Release by the Independent National Electoral Commission titled “Candidates For Anambra Governorship Election” dated 19th August, 2021,” the statement made available to DAILY POST on Thursday said.

“The Ag. National Chairman insists that by the provisions of both the Electoral Act and the INEC time table, INEC ought not to make any other publications of candidates until October which would be the final publication. This publication by INEC is unknown to law and should be discountenanced as we would not be party to aiding INEC in violating the laws of our land.

“The Court of Appeal Kano Division did not make any finding that Victor Oye is Chairman or that Prof. Soludo is candidate of our Party. The Court only set aside the judgment of the Jigawa High Court for want of jurisdiction.

“In the absence of any direct order by the Appeal Court, the judgment that conclusively determines the question of who is Chairman and Candidate of APGA is the judgment B. C. Iheka of the Owerri High Court reaffirmed by Justice V. C. Isiguzo of the same High Court.

“Both the judgment and order from the Honorable justices of the Owerri High Court had been served on INEC before this contemptuous action of changing the name of our candidate.

“APGA will consider an action in contempt against the Commission as it has not gone down well with Ndi Anambra to have a neutral electoral umpire succumb to the whims and caprices of a section of the political class.

“Based on the foregoing, Hon. Chukwuma Umeoji is still the candidate of our Party and all preparations for the kickoff of his campaign as the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Anambra State is in top gear.

“The launch of the campaign which will lead to Umeoji winning the November 6 governorship election and becoming the next governor of the state will be held next week.

“The authentic Chairman of APGA, High Chief Jude Okeke will be presenting the flag of the party to Umeoji at the launch of the campaign that will be attended by party leaders, members and loyalists across the state and the country who have been yearning for the comforting touch of Hon. Umeoji as Governor of Anambra State.

“We are confident that the Supreme Court will correct the wrong done by the appellate court; hence, we shall not be distracted from our plans to campaign in all parts of the state to make our programmes and plans for the state known to the people. We entertain no iota of doubt that our victory both at the apex court and at the polls is certain.”

Politics / Bandits Break Into Islamiyya School In Katsina, Abduct Pupils, Teacher by Happened: 6:54am On Aug 19, 2021
Armed men suspected to be bandits terrorizing some parts of Katsina State have attacked an Islamic school at Sakkai community in Faskari Local Government Area, abducting at least seven pupils and a teacher.

DAILY POST gathered that the incident happened on Tuesday when the armed men invaded the community, shooting sporadically to scare residents away before whisking the victims to a deep forest.

The assailants who were said to have attacked the school during an evening lesson are yet to contact the family members of the victims as at press time.

When contacted, the State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Gambo Isa confirmed the incident to DAILY POST.

He said the students already closed from lesson before they were attacked and kidnapped.

“The bandits were attacking the community before they saw those students and used the opportunity to kidnap them.

“Nine of the students were kidnapped but two of them were able to escape”, he added.

Like other states in the Northern part of the country, Katsina has witnessed several security issues recently. Despite efforts by the Federal Government to curtail the trend, the bandits have continued to wreak havoc in many parts of the state.

Politics / Nigeria Air Yet To Fly, 3 Years After Unveiling by Happened: 4:03pm On Aug 18, 2021
Exactly three years and one month after the unveiling of the name and logo of the proposed national carrier known as Nigeria Air, the airline is yet to take off.

While the federal government is insisting that the national carrier would come on stream next year, stakeholders and experts in the industry doubt the possibility with just a five percent contribution from the government.

Daily Trust reports that the Minister of Aviation, Senator Hadi Sirika had on July 18, 2018, unveiled the name and logo at the Farnborough International Airshow in London hinting that the airline would begin operation in December 2018 with 20 aircraft.

However, three months after, precisely on September 20, the Federal Executive Council (FEC) announced the suspension of the project.

Since then, the minister has insisted that the project is not dead even as he set a 2022 timeline for the delivery of the national carrier, which is a major project under the Aviation Masterplan.

Sirika said the carrier would be completely private sector driven with the government having as small as five percent stake.

But three years later, there is still uncertainty over the project fuelling doubts, misgivings over the seriousness of the government to float the airline.

Daily Trust reports that in between the three years, three different airlines have started operations including Ibom Air, which commenced operations June 7, 2019; United Nigeria (February 2, 2021) and just last week, Green Africa.

In May this year, the federal government said it expects private investors to raise $250m for the proposed carrier as it insisted the project would be delivered before 2023.

In the document, which gives an update on the national carrier project and other sub-projects in the roadmap, the Ministry of Aviation explained that the project development phase has been completed.

But an aviation stakeholder, Capt. Alex Nwuba, had said the project was dead on arrival. He however told our reporter that to make it a reality, the government must own the airline 100% at the start.

“There is no point calling it a national airline when the government owns 5% and foreign interests own more than 10%. Government must take responsibility for the startup and funding of the airline from the get-go.”

He also advocated the appointment of a nine-man independent board of directors and subsequently two executive directors from the airline’s management to oversee the running of the airline.

Still on this, Principal Partner, Avaero Capital Partners, Sindy Foster said the national carrier project is not realistic, stating that it shouldn’t be a priority.

“I feel that the Nigerian policymaker would do better by using this COVID period as an opportunity to fix the issues with domestic aviation so that Nigeria can launch international airlines from Nigeria and designate those airlines as flag carriers.”

But Mr. Chris Aligbe, the Managing Director of Belujane Konzult, an aviation consultancy firm, noted that the project is still feasible despite the seeming delay.

“The minister has said by the end of the first quarter of next year, it would come on stream. The truth is that floating an airline is not an easy thing. In a federal system, the president doesn’t call the shots as it were but he has to work through various committees.”

TV/Movies / Whitemoney: Why Maria May Evict Me, Queen On Sunday by Happened: 3:42pm On Aug 18, 2021
Big Brother Naija housemate, Whitemoney has named two housemates that Head of House, HoH, Maria, may evict on Sunday.

Biggie gave Maria a secret task on Monday to act as though she has the power to evict two housemates from the show on Sunday.

Biggie, in a diary session with Maria, who won the head of house challenge on Monday , said that there would be no evictions this week.

Biggie told Maria to keep the information secret.

Speaking on Wednesday, Whitemoney said Maria will evict Queen and maybe him on Sunday.

He said, “For the female housemate, I think she will evict Queen but for the males I am not sure but it might be me.

“She has a personality clash with Queen, they don’t get along. I feel she might not want to have Queen cause she triggers her anger but I don’t know the criteria she will use.

“I also feel she will eliminate me because she thinks I am her competition. She and Pere already had a meeting about the kitchen monopoly. She might send me out because I am her competition and if she does I will not blame her. This is a game.”

Politics / FG Owes CBN ₦15.51 Trillion, Borrows ₦14.86 Trillion Under Buhari by Happened: 7:08am On Aug 18, 2021
The Federal Government’s total borrowing from the Central Bank of Nigeria through Ways and Means Advances has ballooned to N15.51tn, rising by 2,286 per cent in six years, data collated from the CBN have shown.

The N15.51tn owed by the Federal Government to the central bank is not part of the country’s total public debt stock, which stood at N33.11tn as of March 2021, according to the Debt Management Office.

The public debt stock comprises the debts of the Federal Government of Nigeria, the 36 state governments and the Federal Capital Territory.

Ways and Means Advances is a loan facility used by the central bank to finance the government in periods of temporary budget shortfalls subject to limits imposed by law.

According to Section 38 of the CBN Act, 2007, the bank may grant temporary advances to the Federal Government in respect of temporary deficiency of budget revenue at such rate of interest as the bank may determine.

The Act says, “The total amount of such advances outstanding shall not at any time exceed five per cent of the previous year’s actual revenue of the Federal Government.

“All advances shall be repaid as soon as possible and shall, in any event, be repayable by the end of the Federal Government financial year in which they are granted and if such advances remain unpaid at the end of the year, the power of the bank to grant such further advances in any subsequent year shall not be exercisable, unless the outstanding advances have been repaid.”

In the first six months of this year, the Federal Government borrowed N2.4tn from the CBN, more than half of what it got in the whole of last year.

The N2.4tn is also much higher than five per cent of the Federal Government’s retained revenue of N3.9tn in the previous year.

As of June 2015, a month after the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) came into power, the total government borrowing from the apex bank stood at N648.26bn.

It jumped from N856.33bn in December 2015 to N2.23tn in December 2016, the CBN data show.

The total borrowing from the bank grew by N1.08tn in 2017 to N3.31tn. It rose further by N2.1tn in 2018 to N5.41tn.

The Federal Government’s borrowing from the CBN surged by 61.18 per cent (N3.31tn) to N8.72tn at the end of 2019.

Last year, the government turned to the apex bank for a record N4.9tn to plug its fiscal financing gap, bringing its total borrowing to N13.11tn as of December 2020.

A global credit ratings agency, Fitch Ratings, had in January raised concerns over the Federal Government’s repeated recourse to its ways and means facility with the central bank.

According to the agency, the use of central bank financing in Nigeria, which predates the COVID-19 pandemic shock, could raise risks to macro-stability in the context of weak institutional safeguards that preserve the credibility of policymaking and the ability of the central bank to control inflation.

“The CBN’s guidelines limit the amount available to the government under its WMF to five per cent of the previous year’s fiscal revenues. However, the FGN’s new borrowing from the CBN has repeatedly exceeded that limit in recent years, and reached around 80 per cent of the FGN’s 2019 revenues in 2020,” it said.

In February, the International Monetary Fund said Nigeria’s monetary policy operational framework should be reformed in the medium term, adding that the central bank financing of budget deficit should be phased out in order to reduce inflation.

“The increasing reliance on CBN overdrafts has come with negative consequences. The financing is costly for the Federal Government at interest rates of MPR plus 300 basis points, and for the CBN, with sterilisation done through issuance of OMO bills,” it said.

The IMF added that a complete removal of central bank financing of fiscal deficits would require higher domestic revenue mobilisation.

The Washington-based fund had on April 28, 2020 approved Nigeria’s request for emergency financial assistance of $3.4bn to support the country’s efforts in addressing the severe economic impact of the COVID-19 shock and the sharp fall in oil prices.

In a letter of intent to the IMF, the Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Mrs Zainab Ahmed, and the CBN Governor, Mr Godwin Emefiele, said the recourse to central bank financing would be eliminated by 2025.

They added that the existing stock of overdrafts held at the CBN would also be securitised.

Celebrities / Bbnaija: Why I Didn’t Attend University, Secure Degree – Whitemoney by Happened: 1:58pm On Aug 11, 2021
Big Brother Naija, BBNaija Season 6 housemate, Whitemoney, has finally revealed his reason for not having a university degree.

JMK, the new BBNaija housemate, had approached Whitemoney to know more about him.

In the process, Whitemoney told JMK that he does not have a degree because he did not have the opportunity to go to the university.

He added that that’s one of the reasons why he wants to get married to a smart woman, adding that he only wrote NECO examinations.

Whitemoney said, “I want a smart woman because I did not go to school due to the situation at that time.I am smart but I didn’t go to school. I don’t want a situation whereby my children will ask me about their assignments and I’ll not be able to help them.

“My own is to make money. I don’t know how to solve maths. Their mother will do that.”

Whitemoney, however, revealed that his siblings have so many certifications and are big men.

“Any degree you want to talk about, my siblings have them. As for me, as I managed to finish my NECO, I said God be the glory,” Whitemoney said.

Politics / 2023: Top Nigerians Tinubu Made Ganging Up, Want Him Dead – Evans by Happened: 1:46pm On Aug 11, 2021
Prophet Gabriel Evans has condemned prominent Nigerians for “ganging up” against former Lagos Governor, Bola Tinubu ahead of 2023.

The leader of His Majesty Evangelical Ministry said it was unfortunate that those Tinubu made are opposing his ambition and want him dead.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) National Leader is believed to be interested in succeeding President Muhammadu Buhari.

Discreet and medium-scale campaigns have commenced nationwide. Full-scale public support is expected from January 2022.

In a sermon conveyed in English and Yoruba, Evans said though he wasn’t holding forth for Tinubu, the truth is sacrosanct.

“I’m not a politician. What’s my business with Tinubu? If he dies, if he’s alive, not my business. But I’m saying the truth.

“No other person in Nigeria has built champions like Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He made men, he parted ways for people who were nobody to become somebody.

“He made governors…Abiola Ajimobi, Dapo Abiodun, Rauf Aregbesola, Gboyega Oyetola, Segun Oni, Kayode Fayemi.

“Personal ambition has covered their eyes today. They are betraying the person who made them. He made governors, senators, ministers, the vice president.

“Those times, they didn’t remember he was a monopolistic, undemocratic person…when he selected them over others.

“Now, they are painting him in bad light. They are praying for his death, his fall…that he should not return to Nigeria.

“I don’t know him, I don’t care to know him. He doesn’t feed me, but let’s say the truth. He has his shortfalls just every other human,” he said.

The cleric, however, noted that Tinubu’s ambition blindfolded him not to reason properly in 2015.

“If he had reasoned well, he would have realized that these people are not the type you deal with”, Evans added.

Tinubu is in London to see his doctors. Amid death rumors, Lagos Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu visited him on August 3.

Tinubu’s trip outside Nigeria for medical purposes has increased in recent years.

Ardent supporters fear his health may worsen as the general election approaches.

It is not clear yet if Tinubu will join the presidential race despite the concerns or anoint a preferred candidate.

The Jagaban of Borgu is expected back home before the end of August.

TV/Movies / Pere: I Regret Picking Maria As Deputy Head Of The House (BBNaija) by Happened: 7:38am On Aug 11, 2021
Big Brother Naija, BBNaija housemate and Head of House, Pere, on Wednesday, said he regrets picking Maria as his deputy.

Pere disclosed this during a conversation with Saga.

The Bayelsa born was reacting to the heated argument between Maria and Queen

Recall that Maria and Queen had a heated argument, which almost led to a fight on Tuesday night.

The drama started after Whitemoney introduced Pere as a strategist during a game with all the housemates on Tuesday night.

Queen, the new housemate, agreed with the housemates, saying Pere is truly a strategic person.

However, Maria interrupted her saying: “It’s just been two days, how would you say you know Pere is a strategist.”

The statement got Queen furious as she confronted Maria, saying she belittled her.

After the incident, Pere confronted Maria but she was defensive.

Speaking to Saga, Pere said “I regret making Maria my assistant Head of house.

“She’s bringing disrespect to the office of the HOH.”
