PoliticsRe: IWD: No Country Has Achieved Equal Rights For Women - UN Reports by Harddiskng(m): 8:48pm On Mar 08
Maybe the problem is the definition of “equal right”

Does equal right translate to equityand fairness? NO!

I see posts about female footballers demanding equal pay as male footballers, looking at the maths, is this equity? NO! - you can’t compare the revenue from viewership. It’s like someone working in ASO microfinance demanding Providus Bank salary.

Suspect33:
You don't wait for the world to be handed over to you on a platter, you demand and earn your place in the world. It's a dog eat dog world.
Enough with the victimhood, we're now at a point in the world where men are the one's marginalised and discriminated against. Almost every law puts the average man at a disadvantage e.g family laws, military laws, to name a few. Equality is a mirage, even amongst men there is no equality. Enough with the BS
This your post is underrated!

I remember someone saying we need more slots for women in Nigerian government and i was like that is nonsense undecided

We don’t need more slots for women, we need more intelligent and charismatic women raising up to the occasion, contesting in elections and winning their desired seats. That is what we need.

The double standard is just too much.

If this habit is coming from a side chick it will be well understood.. but from the person l called mother is unacceptable...
This was a woman l do send money regularly , have given her money to established business, just last year December l gave my brother over 200k to start up something...
My mother got 1 million naira from her church that same December,, l told her to add the money into her business, so l can focus on myself this year and get married and start my own family too...just this February she started Calling me to buy her a for phone,, l told her l am struggling to raise money for my rent and l am not in position to buy phone now...
This evening l manage to send 10k to her asking her to supplement it .. the next call l received was insult and emotional blackmail.. this hurt me to the bone and l ask my brother to immediately transfer the money back... this level of ungratefulness from my own mother really surprised me!!!
Don’t send anything to her again. Don’t bother reaching out to her.

Family is not people you are related to by blood, family is whosoever cares for you and shows it in their actions.

Focus on your life.

If you fail financially in your responsibility towards your own nuclear family it is your fault.

TravelRe: I'll Be Relocating To Lagos Next Month, Any Advice? by Harddiskng(m):
Chygozdegreat:
Hello nairalanders I’m planning to relocate to Lagos the city of endless hustle and opportunity.

They say there are greener pastures there, and I believe it. Lagos is a no man’s land; it doesn’t care where you’re from, only what you can offer and how hard you’re willing to work.

It’s a city where dreams are tested, skills are sharpened, and bold moves are rewarded. I’m ready to step out of my comfort zone, embrace the grind, and chase bigger opportunities.
New city. New challenges. New level. wink wink
Lagos is NOT a no-man’s land

You have some many misconceptions.

You are likely going to fail in your pursuit of “bigger opportunities” and go back to where you coming from.

Just to let to know a man’s success is not in a particular location of his choice, it is where God’s has destined him to be. You better talk to God before you move.

You can say the bolded again. They tried retail banking in Nigeria for a few years, but have not pivoted begining today to doing what they are best at. If you don't have minimum 7.5M naira in your account balance as at yesterday your account with them will be closed.
I have decided not to keep my accounts with Standard Chartered. It benefits them more and has higher opportunity cost for me.

You can’t write off the benefits of retail banking aspect of the business especially in Nigeria. These CASA are most banks source of low cost funds. Do they think i would put large funds with them at mediocre rates lol.

Before the end of this year, the way their cost of fund would skyrocket ehn. They won’t believe. I just hope they don’t became case study for others to learn from cheesy grin

Well i wish them luck

Yes.. They have issues on that.
They even issued SMS to that effect.
There services are beginning to the poor and others are competing favourably in some aspects.

But let nobody put Stanbic and Bankruptcy in the same sentence.
The other asset managers would first go bankrupt in the hierarchy of things.

undecided
Services are poor, but your funds are HIGHLY SECURED.
No matter the billions anyone may have, I don't think it makes up to 1% of what they hold.
I never mentioned anything about bankruptcy, I was going on about the deplorable state of their services in recent time, which you also agreed with.

Do i think it’s a solid business, yes but at your bolded is a lie, nothing hate more than lies. In this case it seem your lie is a product of your ignorance. There is nothing “Too Big To Fail”. Bigger and better companies than Stanbic IBTc in 1st world countries have go bankrupt if you don’t know undecided

No company is immortal. Standard Oil was broken up by the law; the East India Company (once the most powerful entity on Earth) was dissolved by the British Crown. While the "Big Tech" giants of today seem untouchable, history suggests that eventually, every giant either evolves, gets broken up, or fades away.

Chimex38 i didn’t even know Stanbic gave birth to Standard chartered, another solid bank. Nawa, no wonder they still collaborate on some things like wallet, etc.

If you notice, both standard chartered and Stanbic are miles ahead of any purely Nigerian owned bank in terms of operational efficiency. Infact they are the only 2 banks whose app can rival that of fintechs. The fintechs are scared of them

Stanchart does MMF too but not Nigerian Money Market. You need to be a finance guru to understand their MMF lol
At the bolded. It is either you are a marketer or you are not living on earth with the rest of us undecided

This week that just passed using Stanbic bank was a nation wide struggle. Even functions for other arms of their business wasn’t working sub-optimal or not even working at all.

I have been using Stanbic services for over 10 years now and can tell you confidently that in recent times their service are deteriorating faster than a rotten tomatoes

How long have you been in this market? If you are below 50 then just calm down ooooo

But if you think you can shoulder the shock of NGX in the long term then nothing do you grin
Lool I have lost 50% of my portfolio before, the 1st time i entered the market about 9 years ago. I just returned last year, far more knowledgeable than then.

Most stocks on NGx are currently at a discount. Waiting for more discount and go either way; except you have a crystal ball.

Except you are waiting for possible shake-up from election buhaha, even that ehn, my bet is that the impact would be very minimal cause who all know the winner grin

As for me no matter what happens, every month i would always be in the month to buy. If the market tanks by 50% this year, I’d happily buy more.

I am still young boss. I get better shock absorber grin

I will advise you wait a little. All stocks will be repriced and get back to base... I don't know the YEAR at that will happen but be PATIENT... I used 2020 to plan for what I'm enjoying today
I have mentioned it before why i no longer wait. In the last few months i have missed two trains, waiting for a discount and these stocks have done over 35% now.

Plus I am buying for long term, my hold period is a minimum of 5 years. Waiting for a 20% discount is nothing compared to minimum of 500% i am expecting in 5 years. Even with this mentality i am currently sitting on 1million in profit on my portfolio. So i have so much leeway.

Once i do my computations (of which current price in comparison to 52 weeks high is part of it), the stock(s) that tick all the boxes. I enter at that price. No time.

This NGX is funny sha. When I was loading almost all kobo stocks few years ago, I was called all manner of names but what changed today? 😂

See FTN I got in a $0.26k is being chased at premium $5+? 😞

I bought many of them just for fun and still have many of my kobo stocks sha grin
The crazy thing is that at $5 it is still cheap

I have learnt lesson from Presco. I am sure some people thought Presco was too expensive at N200.

My next move would be on kobos stocks currently on NGX (stocks less the N5). I just haven’t had time to analyze and pick my targets.
