Nothing wrong with the moves of both Ehud and Epstein here.

They were techy businessmen who sought to bring their technical expertise to support Nigeria in the fight against terrorism and get paid for the job.

Omo! You read an article, saying what the enemies of Nigeria planned and executed down to even evidence of payment.

These are very known evil men, you have children; there is evidence one of them raped children. There is evidence one of them pushed international propaganda and profited from it.

But you went ahead to open your mouth “there is nothing wrong with what they did”. Haaa! The good book says “Woe” - yes “Woe to them that sees evil and call it good”. You know the meaning of woe?

You better pray for yourself, may you not be unfortunate cuz your state of mind is worrisome.

Elsewhere, not to argue but as regards Aradel, before its bull this year, many traders had to cut their loss on it for lack of momentum. Aradel literally dropped below N400 after it crossed the N800 mark post listing. That's a c.50% dip.
.
Always know at what price to stop chasing

Currently I don’t even have one unit of Aradel and at its current price i don’t have any plan to buy

For me, I usually buy at market price just to get skin in the game first. If you don't buy at all, you may end up missing a good run. I buy at market price and then frequently afterwards..if there is a pullback, I buy some more. I always take a long view. The market price today will be considered low next year.

I first recently bought WAPCO at ATH on 156 and hoped it would correct. It went to 160 and I bought twice as much. Then 165 and I doubled down. Now it's almost 200. Imagine I had been waiting for 150.
Aradel is not even the only one that has popped up on my criteria and i still missed the train.

Now once i sight my target, at enter with full body. i no wan hear shoot bird, mama die, train con leave me behind grin

Pull what by how many %.

Just so you know, a stock with strong fundamentals and great future prospects won’t pull back massively so you can enter lol.

Instead it will keep increasing in price.

Ask Aradel, it popped up on my criteria around 500 ish months ago (attached was my mandate). Instead of me to jejely buy at market price, i was looking to get it at a discount. Always nding in a bit lower bids. E no wait for me oo, till i missed that ship (know at what price to stop chasing).

If i had entered at market price, I would be doing nearly 90% return by now.

Besides i have discovered i have no reason to beat myself up on 10-20% discount when i am looking at over 500 -1,000% return in 5 years

I have just 10 stocks right now. My highest number of holdings at a time was 19.

Maybe you should cut your losses at between 8% and 10% rather than allowing it to go all the way to 15%. Also, you might have significant exposure to a sector that is not performing well.
Thank you for your input

I am comfortable with the losses. My entire portfolio is small, but even at that 20% YTD return puts me at 1m profit.

As someone that as seen 50% loss on my entire portfolio, when i first tried stock trading years ago, a negative 15% on one 3 out of 20 ish stocks no shake me grin

I don’t plan to sell anything even if it seems i made a mistake. Time (years) is correcting factor.

What i would do is reallocate new capital such that 60% of my portfolio value would be made of about 6 - 10 solid stocks
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Harddiskng(m): 8:13am On Feb 17
Special thanks to emmanuelewumi for providing us with price history of some stocks.

When i mentioned the time factor in one of my earlier posts some people doubted.

I remember saying in 5-10 years, you should be looking at atleast 5x - 10x (500% - 1,000% return) minimum. Some stocks would even do more. Even before Emmanuelewumi posted it is a market phenomenon i have seen.

Harddiskng:
I see some post and i am like wow, rookie mistake. Been there, done that.

I remember trying stocks like 10 years ago, I put in 1m and lost 40% of my portfolio value lol, then just sold them off. Guess what each of those stocks are doing over 500% from that time. I still have one (like 100 units) i forgot to sell and i kick myself every time i see it.

……

You might want to wait a bit for a major market correction or pullback as some stocks are at their all time high. Just my opinion though.
Thanks for this but It doesn’t matter to me, i am not planning to get out of any stock i enter until 5 years minimum.
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Harddiskng(m):

Maybe you need to listen to learn rather than listen to defend, or you will continue going the wrong direction. How can you have a stock that has done nearly 200% in a market period where even dead stocks are rising but your YTD is below the market?

Well, my current highest return from a stock is about 64%
To answer your question, I don’t think i have to explain how weight averages works naa. I buy stocks when i have spare cash. At each point it is different amount. A=50 naira, B = 20 naira, C = 5 naira etc. depending on the amount invested in each stock and return on it, it all averages down to 20% return YTD

You have a YTD of about 30% YTD. Please how many stocks do you have in your portfolio?

NB: the purpose of this debate is for us to have better geared portfolios. For those saying two stocks blah blah blah, except your God or your Juju man can see the future; it is a floored argument. So please let’s explain concepts better and i won’t listen to you if you don’t show you have evidence of what you are saying - Post your YTD return. It is like a poor man giving a seminar on “maintaining generational wealth” grin

Make una answer me fast, I intend to use a significant capital outlay (well significant in comparison to my portfolio value sha grin) to diversify more today - i feel it’s necessary for an entirely different sound reason. Mind you I don’t just pick stocks at random and pour money in it.

InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Harddiskng(m):
ogawisdom:
When you over diversify you water down your returns. Nobody actually needs more than 5 quality growth stocks in their portfolio 1 from one sector.

It's funny to see investors kill their returns with crazy over diversification as they want to be in every stock.
The thing is nobody is God.

Just so you know i have a criteria that is very non-sentimental, it strictly based on value proposition. Each month i buy the best my criteria picks no matter what it is.

Besides You can never know if after you buy a stock it grows or tanks. In this same portfolio i have a stock that has done nearly 200% in less than 6 months while another is doing -15%

Please post your YTD return

People that are not diversifying as much as i am should post their YTd return. I want to see something

All he asked for was “250 cents” and she decided to shame him. Omo!
It is like Nigerian women are very undesirable. Shikeni money “250 cents”, God forbid.

There was this trend on 9gag “how you met your wife” or something.

One African guy married a Japanese. The moment he said he realized he met his wife, he took her on a date. Afterwards he realized he didn’t have enough money to get home.

After sweating in silence, he decided to swallow pride and ask her for some change to take the train back home. Without blinking she gave him, called him to be sure he got home.

Baba’s story has changed financially, guess who he married.
