I don’t even blame them. Which right thinking person has the money he needs, accumulating interest income at 15% would leave it then use it as collateral to borrow just 80% of the money he already has at a higher interest rate then his investment which he can easily liquidate for use

Just know that 18.5% annual interest minimum is stated...... They will normally later remove 10% withholding tax, you will still get 1/3rd of your capital every 2 yrs and in 5 yrs make back your capital invested.

18.5% GROSS

“1/3rd of your capital every 2 yrs and in 5 yrs” in other words, you are telling us the net is around 15%

72/15 = 4.8 (time it’s takes to make the same amount of interest as your capital).

It is not different from a regular Stanbic or First Asset MMF.

Rates displayed are net of all charges (Management fees). The WHT has already been taken from the underlying asset - Tbills and CPs.

Hence, what is displayed is what gets to the investor.

Not easy registering on Stanbic for equity/ mutual fund, those doing it are trying. 1m otps to confront.

With 18.5% minimum annual interest from mutual fund or fixed deposit just know you make 1/3 of your invested capital every 2 yrs( even after 10% WHT is deducted). You double your capital in 5 yrs, so ensure you are more intentional/ strategic with nothing less than 18.5% annual interest.

Is the 18.5% net of WHT?

Helen Prest had a valid claim but failed cuz she could have gotten better lawyers, Mrs Ajayi case was handled by a SAN, Helen Prest should have done same with the magnitude of what was at stake, hiring from the top law firms in Nigeria (Aluko & Oyebode, Banwo & Ighodalo, Olaniwun Ajayi, Templars etc) would have been money well spent for Helen Prest.

Helen Prest had better appeal and bring an atomic bomb to the battle (eg evidence of Mrs Ajayi infidelity, proof the deceased no longer wanted anything to do with her etc ).
