Secondly, get the person to send you the invitation which is very important. You can only stay for 90 days max in a period of 6 months. But as people have said on this thread, choose fewer weeks or a month as a first-timer, then increase the duration during subsequent applications.

What about the documents submitted?

Your employment status will determine some of the documents.
For example, these 3 categories have different documents to submit;
- Employed (employment letter, payslip for the last 3 months, account statement, and leave letter from employer)
- Unemployed(show proof that you are unemployed, albeit it is hard as you mostly don't have enough evidence to convince them that you will return if you are not a student). I received a call days after which lasted for over 10 minutes asking a series of questions just to be sure I would return after the expiration of my visa. It was mostly surrounded by if I plan on working or applying for jobs when I get here.
- Self Employed/Freelancer. (MEMO, CAC, Corporate Account statement, Tax Return.)
