Big Brother Naija housemate, Cindy was filmed washing her hand in her food bowl after eating, an act that many considered disgusting, and this led to a debate online as people argued whether it is appropriate or not. The housemate was filmed eating at a table with other housemates. When she was done, she washed her hand into the plate used in eating. The video was shared by a number of Twitter and Instagram users as they called her out for it, saying it's a disgusting behaviour and she should have had a separate bowl for that or use the sink. But some defended her and said there's no harm in what she did, as long as the plates will be washed afterwards. See some comments below. According to a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, Buhari said Nigerian Police Force is being overhauled, “re-positioned and primed with modern technological gadgets to meet rising challenges across the nation, while an intelligence loop among all security outfits has been created.” Buhari stated this when he received traditional rulers from the North led by His Eminence, Alhaji Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar III at the Presidential Villa According to him, the ongoing reform of the police will include recruitment of more hands, cultivation of stronger local intelligence and networking with communities, traditional rulers and adequate training. Adesina quoted Buhari as saying, “I have decided to meet with Your Highnesses to assure you that government is determined to tackle and deal decisively with all security challenges facing us as a nation. “This consultation, therefore, is to engage you, our royal fathers, so that, collectively, we can arrive at solutions to any security problems in the country. “We must all play our part to finally address these security challenges, particularly traditional rulers, in your respective communities, where you feel the pulse of the people, being the closest to the populace at the grassroots level,’’ he said. The president urged the Emirs to provide more support to security agencies with their versatile knowledge of communities and individuals. “These policies and programmes include a robust revamping of police intelligence gathering capacity and the significant boosting of the numbers of security personnel in our local communities. “This in specific terms will include recruiting more police officers and doing so whenever possible from their local government areas, where they would then be stationed in the best traditions of policing worldwide. “Working with the State governments also, we intend to improve the equipping of the police force with advanced technology and equipment that can facilitate their work. To drive this, I recently created a full-fledged Ministry of Police Affairs. He said CCTVs would be installed on highways and other strategic locations so that activities in some hidden places can be exposed, more effectively monitored and open to actionable interventions. Responding, the Sultan of Sokoto who spoke on behalf of the visiting traditional ruler assured the President of the full support of traditional rulers in the country. “We have come to assure you of our total support, total commitment and undiluted dedication to moving the nation forward as one of the best countries of the world,’’ the royal father noted. Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu has reacted to a letter written by governors from the South-East region of the country to President Muhammadu Buhari. The governors on Tuesday sent a letter to the President over the closure of Akanu Ibiam International Airport and the incessant attacks on people of the region by suspected Fulani herdsmen. The Governors in the letter signed by Chairman of the Forum and Governor of Ebonyi State, David Umahi, asked Buhari to approve their earlier resolution banning herdsmen without cattle and movement of cattle by foot in the zone. In the letter, the governors demanded a postponement of the closure of the airport, saying that this will enable them to make adequate arrangements for airport users in the zone as well as carry out some remedial works on the Airport. Nnamdi Kanu, while reacting, condemned the South-East governors over the letter to Buhari over cattle and herdsmen in the region. The IPOB leader described the letter as a shame to the Igbo. Kanu, on his official Twitter page, wrote: “It’s a shame that the Umahi-led SE Govs have turned to beg for the approval of Jubril (aka Buhari) on a simple matter of controlling “movement of CATTLE by foot” in South East. “Cattle is livestock. The Zoo Constitution allows the State/LGAs (not the President) to regulate it. Sad! See more here https://thickmatch.com/nnamdi-kanu-reacts-south-east-governors-letter-buhari/

The Kano State Government has said it is planing to convert five forests to grazing reserves for herdsmen in the state. Gov. Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State announced this on Tuesday while speaking with journalists in Abuja, NAN reports. Ganduje said that his administration had inaugurated a technical committee on farm settlements for herdsmen in the state. He said further that the proposed settlement would assist in boosting socio-economic ventures in the state. He noted that the settlement was also to discourage the movement of herders from north to south to address herders/farmers crisis. “We will provide social amenities such as hospital, veterinary clinic, market, security post and schools so that herdsmen will enjoy facilities just like other Nigerians,” Ganduje said. According to him, herders settlement should not be a national issue, it should be stated issue because they live and flourish in every state. He said his administration would redouble efforts to ensure that farmers enjoy more intervention programmes and projects to boost agriculture in the state. He thanked Wike for announcing his intent to eliminate user-fees for PLHIV. According to Symington, the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), administered by the U.S. Centre for Disease Control (CDC), Department of Defence, and Agency for International Development (USAID) is implementing an Anti-Retroviral Treatment (ART) surge programme in Rivers State to identify and provide treatment to approximately 180,000 PLHIV, who have not previously received such.
