georgylee:You can say that again |
This survey is nothing but an obvious scam..........reading through the survey report.....I don't see reasons why anyone should take it serious. A survey telling us how babangida aliyu and lamido has been supporting the re-election of the incumbent president......The big question is ......why would the price of food and other consumables go up when people don't have money to buy? The purchasing power is not what it use to be.......I wish all the contesting candidates the best............but for this survey.........I think Nigeria and Nigerians deserve better. |
My greatest concern is when I see our foremost professor use utme as a yard stick for educational development. exam that has over 1.5 million application, yet can not boast of 300, 000 new applicants. Most utme applicants have sat for the exam more than once. Utme is a fraud and it will not do this country any good if our government continue to scam the citizenry over their inability to make qualitative education accessible to all. |
Wow......utme on people's mind |
I was so surprise when i read a news on how the Jamb registrar Professor Dibu Ojerinde expressed disappointment on the reduction in the number of candidates who registered for the 2015 UTME examination. Its amuse me a lot when i see people using the number of candidates who registered for UTME as a yardstick in analysing the Nigeria Education system. The questions is how many new candidate seats for the exam every year? One would ask why the validity of the UTME result dose not last more than a year? Why should an examination body take money from people knowing fully well the country dose not have a system than can accommodate up to 25% of the total registered candidates and still continue to conduct an exam whose result has just a year life span. It is rather appalling to note that a country with low literacy level would continue to toll a path that has continue to make her citizens desperate and seek dubious means to gain tertiary admission. There were periods when the Nigeria education system has little or less fear concerning the conduct of examination, but the reverse is the case in our current world just because we have an educational problem that needs more than just conducting examination. The government now result to mass failure to cover up of their failure, because when you have less than 40% Utme candidate with admissible scores into tertiary institutions be it university, polytechnic, or colleges of education and we already have a system that can’t take more than 25% of total admissible candidates, then, others are either considered to have failed or not eligible for admission after various institution must have taken their own fair share of money from each candidates through the conduct of the kangaroo exam call Post-Utme. I cant stop smiling, one is call Unified and the other post Unified, this dose not make any sense to any right thinking educationist or in any working society. t or in any working society. I don’t have to remind the registrar and most stake holders that we have countries that conduct almost similar examination but can not afford to conduct or fund an examination body whose results would last for just a year. The reason is simple, how do you expect a country that has a system than can take almost all or everybody who desire to acquire tertiary education and giving every individual a huge sense of belonging be you citizens or foreigners to conduct an exam that avail students just a year admission opportunity. Same people continue to write Utme every year and our profs. and leaders sees that as educational development. In a country where less than three hundred thousand candidates (300,000) candidates take part in the West Africa Examination (WAEC) yearly? If secondary school examination bodies dose not conduct examination for half a million students in a year and Jamb continues to conduct exam for over I.5 million Nigerians, then there’s a problem with the education system which requires more than just conducting examinations like i earlier said. Nigeria needs more funding in the education sector and politician should stop politicising the system. Examination bodies should not be seen as money making organ of the government, and it will be more appropriate if the lasting period of UTME result can be reviewed to about 2-5 years. I feel the pain of the Nigerian students and their ever increasing zeal to always move on until that aim of being called an educated fellow is actualised. Most of these old men that make our policies now had a a better share of the good in this country. We have an educational system that is structured around the availability of jobs. If there are enough jobs......degrees would have been degree. Now that pass degree has become a thing of the pass......I hope those with better degree can now get the jobs.....lol.......they should provide enough jobs and create enable environment for SMEs......in no time.....Nigerians will stop talking about classes of degrees. |
Facebook is a social media website with users spanning over one billion globally. As a platform with such a huge audience, it would be profiting for advertisers who want a wide reach for their product to thrive. Though majority still see the platform as an avenue to meet old friends and make new ones, not knowing it serves so many purposes which include advertising. I see people on countless occasions use the platform to advertise products and services but get discourage at the response they get. They feel like “I have 2000 friends on facebook ; why are they not seeing me?” its simple, you may have wide range of audience but that still does not guaranty wide view for your products. You have to pay for ads. I think this is simple but people don’t like to do it. Paying for ads is the only major mechanism that guaranties you having audience or people to view your product on social platform like facebook, google, yahoo, etc. before paying for ads you must know why you have to pay and what kind or type of ads to choose from before advertising on facebook. All ads type on facebook serves their unique purposes. While choosing your ads on facebook you must consider the following: 1. Page post engagement: it means creating ads that boost your post, shares, video play and photo views. This is specifically good for people who have a particular product or services and want to channel the page audience to those particular product/services to gain more audience. 2. Page likes: creating ads to build your audience on facebook. These kinds of ads are specifically good for website owners who require huge audience. 3. Click to Website: this can be more useful for website owner because it is used to create ads which encourage people to view you website. It’s mainly good for people who need direct audience on their website or a particular product on their website. 4. Website conversation: it promotes specific action for people to take on your website. 5. App Install: this is an ads to encourage people to install your application. 6. App Engagement: The app install can also get u engagement but the app engagement gets you quick and reliable audience on your app. 7. Event Response: for organization or people who plan events, the event response increases audience on your facebook event page. 8. Offer Claim: for those who use the facebook offer on their page, this will promote facebook offer value created. 9. Video Views: for people who do video ads or own video based site, this will bring more people to view your video. Basically, it’s more advisable for advertisers who intends to use facebook to promote products/services to be familiar with the use of facebook pages, because it make you track your performance and the performance of your ads. And you can also use your facebook page the same way u use your website. I will soon write an article on how to create and manage facebook pages. Just keep following as I get you the best of social media usage. http://www.infotechdays.com/blog/2015/01/10/choosing-facebook-ads-that-work-for-you/ |

Nigerians now see lagos as the federal government.......lagos government get blamed for every error emanating from insensitive attitude of the federal government.......Some of you guys should relax and reminisce over what's happening in lagos and ask yourself just one simple question.......What would have been the state of the country if the case of Ebola was firstly detected in the North, South South., East and other south west state.........I can't blame Nigerians because its who we are........always looking for a "sharp sharp" solution to solve problems.........more reason why even the most educated would believe acid bath could cure ebola......NACL+H2O= HCL + NAOH. |

1. It increases the rate of crime 2. It one of the major course of brain drain in the academic settings 3. It render many people jobless as all commercial activities on the campus would not function 4. Believe me this period is when female students gets unwanted pregnancy the most. 5. Strike is the major cause why some student would never come back to school, because of factors such as accidents, and other environmental and social factors. 6. Some students end up in prison, by this, they would be unable to complete their education 7. It does not in any way increase productivity among students 8. Student are being rushed, because the school would want to meet up with academic calendar, due to this factor some school would run a semester for less than two month. 9. It always deprive students that are due for NYSC the opportunity to serve their father Land 10. It reduces the relevance of Nigeria institution among other Africa institutions 11. Strike period is always the most wasteful period in the life of most student 12. After every strike lecturers get paid, while the student will always be at the receiving end 13. Unlike every other form of strike in Nigeria, nobody seems to care whenever there is an Academic strike. 14. Whenever there is strike, student are used as excuse by both the Academic union and the he government, but you will agree with me that both the Academic Union and government are less concern of what becomes the future of the Nigerian Students. 15. If Academic strike persists, it may cause unrest in the country. When the students are being pushed to the wall they might the forced to fight back. 16. Strike should be discourage for the sake of our younger generations 17. Beyond the psychological impact of missing out on school days, there is risk associated with the loss of instruction days. 18. Academic Strike should be not be encouraged in any developing society 19. Persistent Academic Strike in Nigeria has continued to make private institutions more sorted after. 20. Academic Strike is bad and it should not be frequent in any Government or Country that what wants to develop. http://www.eduwheel.com/20-reasons-academic-strike-ASUU-asup-avoided/ |
