As I’ve studied the spiritual power

I thought about this not just from a mere doctrinal point of view, (anyone familiar with basic Islam knows that it has no concept of God as Father), but rather from a spiritual and relational point of view. I realized something about Muhammad’s relationship: the spiritual power behind Islam never gave
Muhammad the intimate love that a
father gives his son . That is why
Muhammad NEVER called that spiritual
power "father". He simply did not know it that way. The relationship between
Muhammad and his god was one of a
slave to his master, with obedience,
rather than love, being the primary
impulse. Below is how Muhammad
described this relationship.

Narrated 'Umar:
I heard the Prophet saying, "Do not
exaggerate in praising me as the
Christians praised the son of Mary,
for I am only a Slave. So, call me the
Slave of Allah and His Apostle." [1]

(NOTE 1: Muhammad did talk about
loving Allah, and about Allah’s love. But
Allah’s love is predicated upon the
Muslim’s performance and obedience,
not on their relationship. More on that
later.)
(NOTE 2: I know the word "Allah" means
God in Arabic and that Arabic Christians
use the word "Allah" for God. However,
when I use the word, "Allah", I am
specifically referring to the god of Islam).

Sura 5:18
And (both) the Jews and the
Christians say: "We are the children
of Allah and His loved ones." Say:
"Why then does He punish you for
your sins?" Nay, you are but human
beings, of those He has created, He
forgives whom He wills and He
punishes whom He wills. And to Allah
belongs the dominion of the heavens
and the earth and all that is between
them, and to Him is the return (of all).


You can see from the Quranic verse above that Muhammad refused to accept Christians and Jews as God’s children because He disciplined them. However, both the Old and New Testaments Bible teach that a loving father disciplines his children.

Hebrews 12:7-11
Endure hardship as discipline; God is
treating you as sons. For what son is
not disciplined by his father? If you
are not disciplined (and everyone
undergoes discipline), then you are
illegitimate children and not true
sons. Moreover, we have all had
human fathers who disciplined us
and we respected them for it. How
much more should we submit to the
Father of our spirits and live! Our
fathers disciplined us for a little while
as they thought best; but God
disciplines us for our good, that we
may share in his holiness. No
discipline seems pleasant at the time,
but painful. Later on, however, it
produces a harvest of righteousness
and peace for those who have been
trained by it.

I understand your misconception. Its more of history, language and usage. See the verse where Jesus said, I will return to my father, and your father, to my God and your God. Your confusion is in usage, there's no misconception or lack of love as you posit. it's just in semantics. Perhaps if you go to the original texts and ask those who understand the scriptures, you'll get the gist. That's why I always complain about people reading scriptures from translated versions and making findings from it. It has changed its form. If you want to dabble in religion talks, you need to appreciate the scriptures as they are.

In addition to what the OP already listed, WordPress has always been better than Blogger IMO. Most people on Blogger are newbies who are still trying to get a hang of how the whole blogging thing works. Those pro bloggers who are still with Blogger are mostly those who were lucky their blog became popular while they were still learning. Most professionals looking to start up a new blog go for WordPress because that's where you'll have full control.

with good themes, trust me, blogger is better. my WP blog has been hacked thanks to widgets and plugins, but blogger has never been. the fact that we all started with something doesn't make it cheap and poor. blogger is also improving

I clicked this link on FP thinking I was going to be wowed, but sadly, the OP has mixed issues. I have used WP before downloading a plugin which triggered hackers to my site. I had to rebuild the site from the scratch as I was a rookie then without making backups. Although I use Adobe Dreamweaver for website devt now but when it comes to blogging, I stick with blogger.


1. There should be clear distinction between blogs you own yourself and those you host with blogger or WP. The issue with control will be a no issue at all if this is cleared. if you have mysite..... that's nothing different from mysite..com.

2. SEO better on WP? for real? I think you need to read more. blogger is owned by Google and lots of tips are online on how to improve your SEO.

3. Cheap? Once again, it depends. did you buy d Domain name and host? plus, a lot of big name blogs use blogger. WP doesn't sound too expensive to me.

4 . Seriously? themes? I can agree that the default themes blogger gives are crappy but pls checkout free blogger theme sites, download them and upload to ur blog with a little under the hood configurations. send me a pm for links to cool themes.

5. AdSense is owned by google. Blogger is owned by google.... dig?

Dear OP, I think your post should be about contentment.

Issues are not as simple as you make it seem. If it suits Mr. A's lifestyle to get married when he has it all, it may not necessarily affect Mr. B who could get a wife and be contented with half as much as Mr. A has. Most things in life have proportions. With a two bedroom apartment, or even one, Mr. B may be contented with his wife, and that could be their own definition of "heaven".

Mr. B should stop swooning over a woman far above his income. If he can't afford the kind of life that will give her contentment, there are still many women who would fall heads over heels for his peanuts.

That's the first misconception. I see from your comments that you don't have bias against Islam. and I understand that it distorts logic to stand with religion of peace on one hand, and the verses extremists use to justify violence on the other. Its all in lack of proper understanding. most of those verses were revealed in time of war, where Muslims were facing persecution. You wouldn't tell me you haven't read of violence in the bible? extremists in your religion too make use of those bible stories and verses as justification.

I understand your plight. but the main reason for the precautionary measure is to reduce the continuous abuse on Islam on social media by non Muslims. It is mainly to nip it in the bud. You're a christian and you don't get such comparisons everyday, so kindly persevere our excesses to protect ourselves.

Using religious sentiments to score political points has always been part of us and sadly, most of us easily fall for it. Fayose could have joined them in Mecca if he wishes I pity the gullible who listen to his rants. Criticisms are important pillars in building a better democracy, but when ideas are lopsided like that of Fayose, I see more of a yearn for popularity than the preferred. He travels a lot....
