Xclusiveman: Good job so far. As rightly said, your funding source is a major determinant of the additional documents you need. Looks like your sponsoring yourself, so let me break it down for you. If you're sponsoring yourself and employed, some additional docs include: - Employment letter - Pay slips - If possible, get a letter of promotional offer to prove that you'd be promoted when you're done and back in Nigeria - Letter of study leave - etc
Self-sponsor and self-employed or own a business: - CAC doc - Business Bank Account statement - Some transaction receipts of service offered to clients - Website if you have one - Payroll, if you have employees - etc - In your SOP, discuss the potential impact of the course on your business.
I applied for my study permit as a self-sponsored and business owner. The main idea is to think of what the visa officer would want to see to clear all doubts about your source of funds. It is more important to show that your first-year expenses are covered and if this were last year, I would have advised you to forget the second year. However, given the recent happenings and policy modifications, I would agree that you should get a co-sponsor or something to prove that you can cover second-year expenses. That's all and your SOP must also be very detailed. Leave nothing to chance and follow up with prayers.
please was it a year programe? was it just business documents you provided? when filling work experience, what did you provide?
i want to apply this month end as a self sponsored business person.
please throw more light on the process, thank you |

Finally got my bill from Pediatrix... They slammed me with a bill of $2150 called to find out what they r charging me for.. They said blood work for the baby, circumcision $650. Bla bla bla...after much talking and screaming they gave 30% discount reducing it to $1450. But I'm still not gonna pay that cos the circumcision wasn't even done well. Upon the drawing they gave my son " corner kick prick".. @Fizzywah please help a sister and send that Oga at the top number. Thanks |

Fizzywah: Thanks Hawttattoo. I think i'll do it myself by getting a visa via Atlanta. I start today and will send it out probably tomorrow. Which doctor delivered your baby? The lactation specialist there, the tall lady only sees moms that are doing exclusive breastfeeding. She's a Port Harcourt person and we quickly identified with each other. She did well to drop a manual Medela breast pump which was helpful and got my wife started. The others came freely lovely drinks from the pantry room, food, baby blankets, similac et al. For moms using Dr. Morgan you can ask the nurses if you are entitled to these little perks.
P.S I know it's been said here before but ensure you let your pediatrician or whoever will be performing your child's circumcision what you want. Tell them naija style and show them a pencil sketch of what you want if you think it will help them else you may end up doing it again. I used Dr Gleen too...he's such a nice man. Talked to him about the pediatrician bill and he gave me a number to call... One Tim something. I misplaced it. Can you send the nos to me if you ve it? Thanks |

Fizzywah: Hi Guys,
My wife gave birth to our Son at Houston NorthWest Medical Center almost 2 weeks ago. So thankful to everyone here that has helped with information one way or the other. Special thanks to @oresmum and @domrita. God bless you all.
Our Doctor, Glenn Morgan was great and did a wonderful Job. The nurses that tended to my wife were great, and overall I would say it's a hospital I would recommend to anyone. Freebies to get us started like a starter breast pump, belly waist band, similac, baby starter clothes, etc were given.
Currently we are 'free-er' what with tending to baby and trying to chase his documentation. And so far we have his BC and Passport but i'm having a hard time getting through to Tanko.
Can anyone here (maybe you have mentioned before and I missed it) offer an alternative to processing his Nigerian Visa or a better solution like a passport instead without travelling to New York?? Please any advice would be appreciated as we have limited time. Waoooh I delivered about 2 weeks ago too at Houston northwest medical center And I didnt get all this freebies you mentioned here. Maybe my nurse was a stingy one.. Tanko does not pick his call but if you send him sms he will reply.Nigerian visa will be cheaper than you going to New York considering the ticket. Regards to the lil one |

My Edd was on the 2nd of August based on scan did at 9 weeks. I don't know which kpekus nailed it (according to Nef) as I wasn't even sure of my LMC. After 2nd August,I was scheduled for induction on the 7th but i called and cancelled it a day before 7th seriously kabashing and building up my faith that labour will come before then. As I had my other kids without inducing and on time. I started having mild contraction on the 7th, got to the hospital on the early hours of 8th. The labour was not progressing and induction was the only option since I was already 41 weeks. I declined epidural initially...but I had to literally begged for it when the pains became unbearable but still I wasn't given one cos my palette was low according to them But in all.. I muscled it out as a true daughter of Zion bringing forth a 9.8lb baby boy... Phewww My rating for HNWC will be 4.5****. Their nurses are nice and friendly. Clean rooms, nice food but poor in freebies My baby was given only 15 diapers,1 small size wipe,8 Similac, thermometer ,pacifier I was given rubber basin... Sit bath I complained to my dr Glenn about the $1k pediatrician fee and I got a called from him yesterday that he has spoken to the CEO .... So hopefully something will be done about it. Yet to get my bills but will relate it once it's sorted Forgive my long post... |

Hubby's appointment was for 10 o'clock. Going through his supporting documents yesterday,we realized that the first hospital correspondence was missing .so I had to email that to him this morning. He went with the following documents:- 1)bank statement ,marriage certificate, pictures,my visa page,my data page, letters from the doctor (stating that I'm under his care),receipts of payments made to he hospital and to the doctor.etc His turn came: Vo-where are you going to? H-Houston Vo:what for? H-to be with wifey during childbirth Vo:asked for correspondence from the hospital H-gave her everything that has to do with doctor and hospital Vo:asked total amount for hospital charge H-bla bla bla Vo-how much did wifey travelled with H-bla bla bla Vo-how many kids and who's going to look after them H:2 and the 3rd on the way... He said he jokingly asked if she's going to give him visa for them and she said that it will be too expensive for him Vo-ok pick up your visa on Tuesday
So grateful that I stumble on this forum . Thank God I heeded to the advice from the group. Had it been he went with the kids...... Hmmm I don't know what would have happen judging from the VO's last statement. Now looking for cheap tickets to Houston......
To God be the glory......

LadyGuinivere: Emmm! I cough well! 1. Ist congrats on top the barrow wen u de push (the pregnancy o! Before u tell me say u be ajebo and can't understand pidgin ) Nne! If u read a few pages, you'l see dates don scarce like boy pikin. Your husband has to make a hard choice, abandon his date (and possibly lose the fees) so he can apply with the 'itsy bitsy babies' or apply for them later.
2. IMO, you are going for childbirth now, it is logical for hubby to want to accompany you but not so for the kids so I do not think you should put them in the same application with hubby. I believe the VO may ask why do u need the kids at childbirth? Who will take care of them while you are at the hospital with oga witnessing the birth? Plenty plenty long thingz! I suggest oga goes ist , then the lil ones apply after oga don get. God bless ! No be small barrow...the thing huge. Lol. My thought exactly . Getting a date now is scarce and I'm almost due. So I'm not gonna take that chance. I just pray he will go along with the initial plan. Thanks lady Guinivere and Fredoricko. I appreciate |

Hello good morning all... I have a serious issue at hand and I need help. Before I travelled,we agreed (me and hubby) that we should apply for visa for the Kidz when I'm back since this wasn't holiday trip. Now few weeks to hubby's interview, he wants the kids to come as well. Now the question is, 1) is it possible to apply for the kids and get the same date and time for them? 2)Do I need to cancel his own application and start a fresh application with the children included? 3) will they be granted visa base on the fact that they are coming to be with me during childbirth? |
