Emmanuel Acheampong, a senior lecturer at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) Business School, has come out to share his experience on how a Nigerian female student in one of the country’s universities allegedly offered him sex-for-grade.

Acheampong who spoke on Ahotor FM in the wake of ‘sex for grades’ expose by the BBC Africa Eye, said: “She was a Nigerian student who wanted to pass without studying'' and that the student had included her naked picture and telephone number in her answer booklet after writing his paper.

When I opened the paper, it was an empty sheet with her naked picture and telephone number under it. I called her and with my background as a Christian, I counselled her,” he revealed.

I failed her woefully, Dr. Acheampong said. Acheampong also said he usually gives out questions before the examination to avoid anything of the sort. This practice discourages students from coming to you, he said.

University of Ghana and University of Lagos, whose lecturers were indicted in the documentary have suspended the lecturers.

Good day great people of nairaland, my situation is quite complicated of which I need help. Almost a year since I've been in a relationship with this lady,she's the typo woman I craved for and wish to get married to.

I learnt about her having stomach pains which she complain about occasionally first I thought it was about this their normal monthly dues which is mensuration. But she said no according to her she's been diagnosed of appendix when she was 16-17yrs now shes 21, also I discovered that each time she comes to visit her body temperature get hot. which I ask why didn't she go for surgery I heard that's the only solution to it. to

my surprise she said there was a revelation about her not to go for surgery.

Pls I need an advice on what to do she doesn't wanna go for the surgery this the Lady I love so much also wish to get married to.

If she doesn't act fast that appendix can kill her bro. I almost died last year tell her the revelation may mean if she does the surgery late it may result to death because the appendix may eventually become ruptured and the chance of survival is 50-50.

This is eye opening. I need to do more research about it. Mods straight to fp please.

Good afternoon house. I had my interview today. The VO at Windows 11 Lagos wasn't smiling. The first thing he did was that he collected my passport and he checked if I had Visa's on my slip. He just dropped it on his table. He quickly checked is computer for my previous application which I was denied. Base on my own assumption, I feel because I filled a no, on my DS 160 form where I was asked if I have an immediate relative, which I thought means younger brother or sister in the US who is a citizen not knowing it means a Spouse of a US citizen. Anyways I had corrected that sha. My interview goes thus.
VO: Good morning
Me: Good morning
VO: what is the address you are going to stat in the US?
Me: I told him
VO: What is the purpose of your trip
Me: I want to go visit my mum who is having some health issues.......she lives with my sister who is a citizen of the United States and she had sent me an invitation to this regard.
VO: How many days are you going to spend?
Me: 9 days and I am coming back to prepare for my final exams and NYSC.
VO: Are you married
Me :No
VO: Do you have kids?
Me: No
VO: Sorry I wont be approving your Visa gives me a blue slip.
I kept wondering what went wrong. I wasn't asked sponsorship and all the rest. It pained me sha.

The last time I applied I was denied which was an Academic tour visit to New York with others from same campus. Unfortunately it wasn't a group interview as we thought and some of us were denied including myself. The agency in charge bleeped up big time. No prior pre interview preparations and all. My concern now is that in my previous interview after answering series of questions the Consular asked if I have a relative in the United States i said yes my elder sister ( a citizen) and whereas on my Ds160 where i was asked if I have any immediate relative in the United States i filled no and i filled Yes for other relatives. Although I had corrected those errors can I send an apology letter to the embassy stating my previous errors which arose as a result my hastiness in filling the ds 160. More so, I came to discover that my mum's maiden name is what's on her passport and not our Father's surname which was what I used for my previous application. However I had already corrected that. Also in my recent D's 160 I wrote I would be visiting University of Colorado and American Musuem of Natural history as part of my travel plans and the major purpose is to go see my mum who just had a surgery recently she has Resident legal permit. What are my chances, I am currently in my final year I planned travelling on July 8th and come back July 18th, I have a business I run on part time basis and I have a good no of cash as well in my account but I am not the one sponsoring the trip. What I intend using as strong ties are my project work, NYSC, Business e.t.c. kindly give your suggestions I would highly appreciate it.
