I also have a White Controller i got from an Idi*t on olx in 2016 for 15k, it worked for 2days then i went for field work for two weeks, came back, updated my system, controller wont com on again but wen u plug it in, it charges, tried in a friend's system, it will connect for 5secs and trip off.
Dunno if that software method will work too. Aldou iv since used the controller for replaceable parts , buh its just the ribbon connecting the board to the light and charging port that's mostly damaged.

Lol. Thats wat someone encounter wen a third party controller is purchased. I think d software update shld do d trick for dat ur pad bt since d parts are still useful for u its a no-loss for u lol

My Original Follow-come controller's R1 button just suddenly stopped working while i was playing TLOU, after sometime, the "X" button stopped working too, aldou if i press it continously, it works. No physical damage whatsoever, i even opened the controller and checked the innards, no physical issues. Will this method work for it too?

In my own case, d pad jst suddenly freeze after some minutes with d light on and all d buttons unresponsive
Since its some buttons dat are malfunctioning on ur pad I doubt dis method will solve it (u can gv it a try)
