From January 31st, she doesn’t need a TEER 1-3 job for spouse to be eligible to join on PGWP. IRCC has said any job in any category. It’s on thier website.

Hello Guys, please I need your counsel on my case. Wife left for Canada early last year, applied for VV for me in May 2022 but no response till date despite webforms raised and emails sent. Later applied for SOWP first week of Dec 2022. My challenge now is that she will be graduating this January ending but her study permit still valid till April. An immigration lawyer said she must get an NOC job before January ends that falls into the TEER 1-3 and also apply for PGWP and upload same via webform to update her application or else my application with the kids might be denied for reasons that she is graduating soon.
My questions is, how true is the above information from the immigration, secondly, @pyale I need the email address with which you contacted IRCC that they were able to reply you within a short time interval. My email is vocarehealth@gmail.com

My dear no reason am o... Applications from London office has been terribly slow, infact currently timeline from Nairobi has been faster. Some people are still waiting for PPR from London after 8months meanwhile they applied when processing time was 8weeks..

Don’t deter in your web forms and emails…

IRCC has come through for them .

They need to know what else to do to elongate their stay if they would like to. Coming in and going back after few months may not worth it, if you ask me.

Congrat, I have a friend I am helping. But the spouse just arrived, but got less than a year student permit as spouse was going for 1 year certificate course.

What chances does the applicant get for SOWP?

Put in the application. The duration doesn’t matter. As long as student has a valid study permit. Put in a strong application and leave the rest to God.

So here is the full gist as promised.

Spouse left for Canada April 2021 for a 2 years PG Diploma.
Weighed my options during that period and figured that visit was quite faster than SOWP so went for visit.
1st Visit visa application was submitted June 6, 2021. Then the long wait started. Explored the Travel Authorisation to expedite the processing but they didn’t see my reason as good enough. Then they new portal thing came up for those that applied before sept 7th. So I applied for the 2nd visit visa using the new portal in October,2021. Refusal for the 2nd application came in November,2021 with 2 reasons… travel history and insufficient funds. At that time, I was already processing a student visa to UK as naija don tire me. So I just focused on the Uk application.

Resumed studies in Uk in January 2022 and applied for gcms notes. Gcms notes came in April only for me to find out that the insufficient fund was because the officer could not access the mybank statement portal. I was like they could have asked me to present another statement na…

So in June 2022, I had already gathered documents and was weighing options again. At that time, visit visa processing from Uk was 8 days while work permit was 10 weeks. So I opted for visit visa. And the wait began… processing time started increasing till it got to around 145 days… after the 145 days I started sending webforms and email but to no avail. I started giving up and was already working on getting a skilled work visa in uk and settle here. Then spouse said we should try the SOWP. I was very reluctant. Started the application since 29th October but didn’t submit till 9th of December.

Submitted 9th December
Biometrics updated 10th December
PPR and BVL 15th December
Submitted passport 16th December
Passport returned to VFS 20th December
Passport delivered 21st December


It can only be God. Don't lose hope!

Raised web form on Oct 31,complaining about delay, and wanting to know if application has been abandoned,so I can make a new one.
BVL and PPR ..Nov. 04 2022.
Review of eligibility started today.
Application is for my mother in law.
I am a citizen,own my house and work full time with my wife. I strongly believe my webform brought up my application for further processing.
So if you have gone past processing timeline, raising a web form may be worth trying.

Submitted an application from UK since June 15 no response. Processing time has never exceeded 10days from UK since I applied.

Maybe they are treating it as an application from Nigeria…

Sorry, about the delay. UK would only be a good idea if you have ties to the UK that would compel you to depart Canada like a fulltime job.

Having a travel history is a plus too, If you have travel history before submitting your application like to the UK and you did not violate the terms of your stay. It can work in your favour.

Hello House, please apart from the Proof of Funds, what other supporting documents do i need to upload for Canada visiting visa. I am a civil servant and currently filling the form through the new portal. Secondly like how much do i need to have on the POF.

Strongly advised you add CAC docs/biz acct statement if you have considering the take home pay for civil servants.

Don't think it really matters because they are asking of dependants so they clarify that you have enough funds to cover for them. However since they will applying alongside your wife, you can write an explanation during her application.

I really want to clarify an issue at hand and I would be more than happy if the gurus in the house can help me out.

I am the main applicant and I have 2 dependants ( my wife and son). I have 2 POF in my name, one is sufficient for myself and the other is sufficient for my dependants.
I did my biometric on 8th of Dec because my wife passport wasn’t ready due to change of name. Fortunately she got her passport on Monday after waiting for 6 month and she did her TB test yesterday.

The second PoF( for the dependants matured same Monday). I would like to know if my dependants can apply for visa immediately despite that I choose NO when ask if my dependants will be travelling with me to the UK. Don’t forget I submitted the first POF that covers my own fee and maintenance. I chose NO because her passport and TB test wasn’t ready as at the day I did my biometric.

Please I really need to know the implication of applying for them now despite the fact that I chose NO and also I haven’t receive any decision on my application.

Are you going to Hertfordshire? I know most courses that start in January is usually 16 months.

It’s usually Semester B, A and then B for January intakes.

Which program?

Did change of name from alausa and it’s yet to be effected/approved from Abuja. Please who experienced this and how did you solve the problem?

Invoice is different from receipt. Receipt is what you get when you pay.

I think CAS is released to regional manager once deposit is confirmed and released to applicant after POF has been confirmed. That was the way it was last year.

Call them! I know few friends that didn’t get response until they called. And be prepared to make deposit in 5 days after your offer drops else offer will be withdrawn.

I don’t have SOWP application. Only visit visa applications.

Got this same response from the exemption form. I did the new application Oct 7. No response yet.

I did send a webform to expedite application plus an email to IRCC.COVID-TravelExemptions-Exemptionsdevoyage-COVID.IRCC@cic.gc.ca in the old application but that didn't yield anything, so I just completed the new application (no email or webform sent)
