civilserva: HONEYWELL FLOURMILL. This stock is good to buy. At the current price, short term and long term investors should take position.
. Yes, it has already moved 4 percent this morning. Should we expect it to get to 5 naira soon? I learnt they a investing in a large expance of land in Imo state.

SWG 1: Personally i have ABC in my portfolio (so no comment) and i am planning on boarding ashaka cement bus next yr cos of their fairly consistence dividend. UPL is a good illiquid stock with almost 10% consistent dividend payout. But there last quarter result was not attractive. Pls this is not a suggestion on the stock to buy, but for u to do ur own due diligence on the idea.
Thank you sir. I think i will join ABC and Ashaka cement based on their current prices and fundaments, plus two otheir stocks that i find worthy cause i like diversifying my portfolio.
InvestmentRe: Stock Market Investment For The Beginners by Heanry(m): 6:44pm On Dec 20, 2013
hello house, among these stocks: Ashaka cement, ABC, University press and RTbrisco, which can be considered best for medium term, say one year inverstment following their current close to year low prices.

Curious_city: Hello 'house',

My question is: Is it possible for a person to buy any stock in Nigeria without appearing in person? I am presently outside but interested in investing in stocks. Any broker that can deal directly online?
yes boss. You can place your buy or sell order using the brockers online platform. You can try to google meritrade or morgan capital ltd. For morgan capital you can call their costomer care line +2348107596134.

petaling: Dont rely on all these recommendations, most times they contradict themselves.
Yes, same with me here. Some times or most times these recomendations don't turn out well

edwill: great thread! I need help here. what is the minimum amount I need to have before I can buy penny stock shares for long term investment?

civilserva: Price of Palm oil at international market no doubt affects the stock price just as the price of crude oil affects the petroleum sector but the price adjusts itself periodically which shouldn't give a long term investor headache. Presently okomu has good strategic plans for expansion, their output is likely to double in 2014 if all things work as they plan. Okomu is also investing heavily on Rubber plantation which will also impact positively on their earnings.
ok, nice one. I will still research on them.
InvestmentRe: Stock Market Investment For The Beginners by Heanry(m): 10:31pm On Dec 08, 2013
civilserva: I Agriculture Sector, consider buying these two stocks, OKOMU OIL and PRESCO. Both are healthy companies with good fundamentals.
But since their is decrease in price of palm oil at the international market, don't you think the prices of these two stocks might still go down. I already have some units of okomu for long term.

civilserva: Agriculture industry coming soon.......
Am following sir.
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Heanry(m): 10:59pm On Dec 04, 2013
Dexterax: 1. AFRIPRUD. You might have to wait on new IPO/Rights Issues/Market Deals to profit from AFRIPRUD...In the short term, that's a long shot, unfortunately. But if the oily peeps at SEPLAT hire them for their future listing and recommend them to other indigenous oil dudes (who may come to market soon), you know how far......

2. COSTAIN. Cyclic stock. So you might have to take that into consideration as you take positions. Their end-of-year is 31st March if I'm correct. So you may target PAT bets...And we're getting into the dry season (ripe for construction activities......). Whatever you do, don't be caught with the COSTAIN shit-bag by the last week of Q1 2014. The stock just hit rock bottom and its on its way up to Jan 2012 highs....If pre-election sentiment sets in too early, and a liquidity storm is set up, it might breach the 2012 resistance. I'm taking a position before the week runs out. Disclaimer: I don't work for COSTAIN WA.

3. ASHAKA. Cyclic stock. I've not followed this actively. You might deduce a few points from 2 above.

4. ETERNA. No comment. [If you have reliable data on aviation energy/fuel dynamics, and playing ETERNA puts you in positive expectation, then fly baby...]

5. JOS BREWERIES. Highly speculative due to debt repayments. But obvious avenues for business profits do not translate to obvious avenues for investment returns. Could lose steam anytime...

6. LIVESTOCK. I already own 20,000 units here, so invariably, any comment will be biased, since humans tend to treasure stuff they own than what they don't own. Trust me. [If you still want to peruse biased comments, holla back...]

7. OANDO. Let's play a counter-factual scenario: What if the Oando-ConocoPhilips' deal NEVER goes through? Will you still want the stock? My personal answer is YES...Look at all Local Content directions in the O&G industry from Argentina to Nigeria...Imagine the force of price gravity pulling OANDO to MRS/FORTE OIL/MOBIL price levels......need I say more? [Unfortunately, this may be a long-term play, say 15-18 months. Of course it could be as short as 6months too, with corrections in btw.]

8. SKYE BANK. No comment. Seriously.....

9. TRANSCORP. Long-term play. Seriously. They need capital (heavy capital) to bring their dreams to reality. And if anything bad happens to Mr. T, OMG!!!

10. UAC-P. Long-term play. Good store of value though...Definitely not a growth stock.

11. UNITYBANK. If you're in love with EcoBank, then rock this stock to the centre of the earth baby! Unless somebody else proves to love UNITY more than ETI. Then considerations might be different.
Hello Sir, pls lets read your biased view on livestock. Any comment on Okomu oil will also be appreciated.

PoliticsRe: Jonathan Plans Shipyard To Boost Maritime Sector by Heanry(m): 9:13am On May 13, 2013
Rossikk: You cannot sustain ''electricity, roads, security'' in the absence of a robust economic environment featuring mass employment opportunities and expanded business activity. You can tackle infrastructural challenges at the same time as you are developing your industries. It doesn't have to be one before or after the other. Private sector involvement in the project also multiplies its chances of long-term viability, while limiting direct govt expenditure in the effort.
Thank you

Born 2be Rich: Right now, listing of 800m units of livestock feed plc will lead to an initial drop in price but increased liquidity...However, stocks on the stock exchange are currently on a decline so i advise you maintain a cautious trading posture...

Note; livestock is a good buy and i see the price going higher soon after their successful meger with UACN plc but remember to do your home work on it first...

BTW, make una take am easy with the abreviation of my name o...very soon una go call me BRT now... angry grin

B2BR is accepted for now if you dont want to mention the name in full although i love the name to be called in full.. cheesy
Bros abeg no vex. Next time i will spell it well. Thx for the insight.

Christianity EtcRe: Clothing And The Believer In A 'Modern World' by Heanry(m): 6:10pm On Apr 28, 2013
Omo_Tier1: In your mind, you really think Jesus when He appears, a human flesh will be something to reckon with in His presence? Let me say this: No man or woman will go to Hell because of what He or She wears. Rather, any man who has refused to accept Jesus as His Lord and Saviour, such will be cast aside into the abyss.

Whilst modest dressing is to be encourage, lets not make religion out of it. For man looks at the outside, God sees and works with the inside. Clearly Jesus said: It is not worth enters a man that corrupts Him but what comes out of Him - Think what this really means.
seun, the dislike botton we've always requested for is long over due.
PoliticsRe: 10 Most Developed States In Nigeria: What Do You Think? by Heanry(m): 11:40am On Apr 21, 2013
Abagworo: Lagos city(not State) is the most developed area in Nigeria followed by Abuja city(not FCT). The rest are still coming up. No State in Nigeria (including Lagos and the FCT) is anywhere near developed. This topic is like bringing 2 one-eyed men(Lagos and FCT) and 35 blind men then asking who has the best sight.
Thoughtful

Enugu is my choice. D public water system is working, traffic is well codinated. Security is fairly good and the city road network is neat and properly linked.
