Unknown gunmen on Monday night invaded the residence of Professor Godswill Obioma, crushing him in what his wife suspected to be an assassination.

“The assassins came in and killed him and left without taking anything,” Elizabeth Obioma told Peoples Gazette by telephone on Tuesday morning.

Crying copiously, Mrs Obioma said her husband had just returned to Minna from a trip to Abuja when the armed men, prowling in his compound, descended on him and strangled him.

TheNewsGuru reports that Mr Obioma has been facing challenges to remove him from office as the head of NECO, a prominent examination body run by the Nigerian government.

Obioma, 67, was appointed head of NECO barely a year ago on May 14, 2020. He hailed from Abia in Nigeria’s Igbo-dominated South-East region.

The sad incident occurred barelly a day after Ahmed Gulak, a top politician of the ruling APC, was assassinated.

Totally agree- never waste your time or energy on a man who treats you in such manner. Once you're treated badly, cut him off with the quickness. Never allow a man to debase your self-esteem and tbh, it sounds like gaslighting if he offends you yet you're the one begging. This reminds me of one time I was friends with someone I was really crushing on. As in, mad crush.
We will have misunderstanding and I will be the one to beg, he will offend me, I'll go back and plead with him. At some point, he told me he doesn't want to be friends with me anymore and I still looked for a way to talk to him.
Imagine a guy telling you to stop choking him and you wonder what you have done to deserve such treatment from someone you really like and can do anything to make him happy.
This continued for a while until one particular day, I sat down to really think deep about it and I asked myself if I really deserve this treatment i'm getting? I decided I had taken enough.
I deleted his number, blocked him on social media platforms.
He was shocked!
The same person that said I was choking and disturbing started calling but it was way too late as my mind had been up and I had moved on.
In Conclusion, Dont Stay in a place where you are being used, Yes! Some people are human users.
If the person isn't willing to put in the same effort as you are, let them go. Better people will come your way.

Chief Provost of Nigerian Immigration Service in Imo, Okiemute Mrere, has been killed.

Mrere was killed on Saturday night on Owerri- Port Harcourt Road in Owerri and his body discovered in a bush on Sunday morning.

Mrere was said to be riding an Immigrations Hilux van when he was intercepted by his assailants and shot at close range.

No valuable was taken from the van—his service pistol was found on him when his body was discovered the next day.

The official Hilux van he was riding in as of the time he was attacked was said to be riddled with bullets.

The command’s Public Relations Officer, Winifred Oguh said the command was yet to get full details and was still investigating the incident.

She said, “Yes I can confirm to you that we lost one of our officers, Deputy Superintendent of Immigration (DSI) Okiemute Mrere.

“We are yet to get full details of the incident as investigations are still ongoing.

The incident is one of high profile killings in the state in the last 72 hours.

A former presidential aide, Ahmed Gulak, was killed same day by gunmen on his way to Sam Mbakwe Cargo Airport to catch a flight to Abuja.
