you are trying so hard to justify the undue monopoly enjoyed by MM airport. We have airports in Enugu, Asaba and Port harcourt but Anambra had to export products through far away lagos. And you are openly supporting a system that harbours such injustice. Do you really think this will go on for long? You and I know it won't.

1) there is no monopoly enjoyed @ MM airport because the airport itself is not an individual group of people's business. It belongs to the FG like other airports. The airport may be in lagos, it is not only natural lagosians that use the airport. We all use it irrespective of tribe. Resident or Non-resident.
2) what do you mean by injustice here? I guess it's a misconception or wrong use of word.
3) to travel out of the country, there are 6 international airports in nigeria approved for that. (if it hasn't been changed).

Now look @ it this way, the airports are bus stops built by govt so that individuals can fund and operate the bus/vehicle fleet as their personal business. The owners of the buses will naturally adopt a bus stop that provides more passengers a their HUB. Not that their won't be any passenger @ the other bus stops. So it means potential passengers will have to 1st travel to those HUBs before getting final transport to their various destinations. Its just the Business/economic decision of the business man not the government. That they didn't even use PH airport means that there is no flight from there not that there is no approved airport there.

Though transporting goods (especially vegetables n other perishables) 1st from Anambra/East/North to lagos is not the most economically viable thing, you cannot force any airline to make any airport a HUB or route point if the owners/operators are not convinced of it profitability.
Except Anambra govt can convince An airline operator on this, even building another airport (cargo or not) will not solve the issue for now. It will in the future tho.
Another easier solution is to reach an agreement (Mou) with one of these commercial airlines to assist with direct transportation from the east(the cargo airport when completed) or PH. But that might mean the govt paying subsidy.
We all want an improved and developed system of transportation not just in the east, but all over the country. We shouldn't take it as fight.

the bomb cannot find its targets because the NAF is using a fighter jet (old type) rather than an attack jet. Fighter jets are meant for air to air combat. Attack Aircrafts are designed for air to surface(ground) attacks. So it's more reasonable to blame those who wasted money purchasing it for them. With all due respect, this rule negates all code of practice if put on the "weighing balance' of logic.


My reasons are:

1. If it's not part of the rules to have more than 300 votes to participate in this contest as a contestant, I don't think it conforms with logic to ask the voters to have 300 posts to their name before they can vote.

2. The moment you register on this effigy of a forum, you automatically adopt the name "nairalander" irrespective of the number of posts you have , and you stand to enjoy all benefit and protection enjoyed by every member(both old and new ).

3. If a nairalander can post , place advert , increase the traffic of this forum irrespective of his or her number of posts, and can only do this mostly as a registered member, then , I see no reason why he or she should be denied an opportunity of voting simply because he or she hasn't posted up to 300 times on the forum.

1. Number of posts required to vote should not be a criterion or pre-requisite , rather , time of registration.

2. If possible, and if the rule must stand(I.e if you guys insist) , I think it should be slashed to 40-50 as against the extant 300 posts ceiling set.

3. It's not every nairalander that post regularly. We have people who are as old as Seun on nairaland but still have less than 20 posts. Should they be denied a right , despite their loyalty to this great forum , just because they have a few posts? It shouldn't be so.



Seun , I know you are altruistic towards the members of this forum, I hope you exhibit that trait as regards the points raised here.

Na long story jor. Make I make am short. We were both coming out of the hospital when he exchanged pleasantries with me. He offered to give me a lift to my house. I refused bluntly but his persistence paved off. Unfortunately, I had a flat tire and didn't go with my car, else he wouldn't have had his way. He asked for my cellphone number, I didn't give him. He kept checking on me and most of these times, I wasn't welcoming at all. His friendly and playful nature got to me along the line, and I had to soften my walls a bit and we became friends. Fast-forward to marriage proposal. Lol I turned it down again told him my mind is not ready for marriage that I need time. He was so ready to give me all the time in the world then he said the only thing he will never do was to let me go.... The rest became history. Today m married to the most loving, jovial, caring and highly respectable man in the world. Can never wish for another.
