Please post the specs of your Inverter. This might have something to do with MPPT voltage range.
I'm guessing you connected the panels in series right?

Working voltage range is 120v+
Voltage was at 133v, so it's not that, I believe.

During this kind of time, try to apply a load that requires more power and see if your draws that required power from your battery or from solar panels.

I did, it just draws from battery and panel output doesn't rise.

It's bizzare, since after about an hour everything suddenly went back to normal.

Do you have external CC or your inverter is hybrid?

Hybrid.

Check the voltage readings from the panels to be sure it isn’t the charge controller that’s the culprit

Inverter reads over 130v, which is within range (total VOC is 149v).

Dam5reey:

There is Li mode on the Inverter, this has to do with Settings.

What type of batteries is it, and what are the charging Voltages? Lithium Bulk and Float must be the same.
Provide more information about the charge settings, Current and charging mode, etc.

Lithium.

Charging parameters are fine and have been working great since installation.

Don't think it's a battery issue at all tbf, since it wasn't supplying more power even when heavy load was turned on.

It suddenly started working fine again like an hour ago btw, not sure if maybe I had thick clouds overhead at that point or something. Still very weird, since this isn't the first time.
Satellite TV Technology / Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by HeavenlyBang(m): 1:21pm On Jun 18
My panels are acting up.

Twice now I've noticed them completely refusing to generate more than about 300w.

Sun is out, no evident shading, my friend using solar nearby is getting enough power from his array.

Jinko 3x 580w panels, ordered from Foauni. Right now they're only making about 280w. Battery isn't even charging, since the load I have on is taking in all of that.

Tried putting on a heavy appliance to see if it'll get the panels to send more power but nope, nothing.

Small set up for a moderate load.

The client wanted a fridge running on it just in the afternoon( I have included the name plate of the fridge)
The fridge is supposed to run 5hrs daily
We finally ended up going or a 1.5kva inverter 12v, 1pcs tubular battery and 3pcs 300w solar panel.

This is for just a fridge?

Dear All,

Got a quotation from another installer, just for comparison sake.
Is the second quotation not an overkill. I thought I'd be making some savings from a partial DIY then the second installer came with this?
Experts in the house, what do you think about this?

Inflated quote.

Based on his existing set up plus coming from 4 tubular batteries. A 5 to 10kwh battery sud suffice for him since he wasn't complaining of his previous battery setup.

See many load wey he get na grin

Anyway, I'd say a 10kwh battery should be just about enough. Maybe 15kwh if finances allow, though he'd probably need to increase his pv array to around 6kw.

Good morning experts in the house

Let me get straight to it

Want to replace my 4 tubular batteries with a Lithium alternative (Open budget) .. tired of trenches backup lol

Please help give suggestions to the 4 best brands to buy and recommended kW ( have a 5kva Growatt setup with 4,600w PV jinko panels)

Please put in consideration I want to run a 1.5hp inverter AC along with my load (which averages 800w all through the day and the occasional bursts of 3,000w due to heavy load appliances for 20 mins)

Cheers guys and thanks in advance!

Thank you . What's the downside of installing 1800W in 6 month? Not an expert but asking out of curiosity

Panels are never enough. There'll always be the burning urge to increase your panel array.

Also, in this rainy season, 1800w really won't give you optimal service. I installed a 1740w array months ago and I'm already thinking of expanding it.

Nutridelfarms:
Good day people, I intend to install a 5/6kva hybrid inverter. I have attached the quotation received from my installer. Just wanted to get remark about the adequacy and reasonableness of this quotation from knowledgeable folks and experts in the house. I welcome any advice, suggestions, comments.
Is it advisable to combine a particular brand of inverter (eg GOspower) with a totally different brand of lithium battery (MARSTEK)? While my installer quoted 1.7M for the battery, I did some research and found the contact of the main dealer of the battery in Nigeria. I could get it for 1.2M directly from their office in Ogba. However, the hybrid inverter of the same brand (MARSTEK) cost 1.2M and they're not willing to reduce the price. They advise buying their inverter and battery together but completely optional with a caveat though - that combining my battery with a different brand of the inverter voids my warranty (10 years), as they cannot vouch for the performance of the inverter I would use if it's not from them or one of brands they've tested. They sent me a list of other brands that their battery is compatible with, however, the prices are ridiculously high compared to theirs.

Is it worth taking the risk to go ahead with the quotation given to me by my installer? I don't just think I want to buy an inverter of over 1.2M. It's a lot mehn.

Buy battery from Felicity or Sako.

Or buy from Valto or Isangjohnson. Best wh/# on the market rn.

Use the money you saved from the battery to buy more panels. 1800w is nice but in six months you'll be wishing you bought more panels, trust me.

Please i need recommendation for a solar hydrid inverter (48v 5 to 8kva) for about 800K
1. Sako
2. Growatt
3. Welion
4. Deye (this might be above my budget except i know exactly why this is the best option then i can up the budget)
5. any recommended brand?

Growatt.

Or SRNE.
Both should fit in your budget nicely.

Please how do check ur daily pv generation or accumulated solar panel harvest on ur 3.3kw SRNE inverter?

You can't AFAIK.

Maybe if you have the Wifi dongle and app, but there's no information like that on the inverter itself. No references on the manual either.

Good evening everyone, pls guys I want to get a 5kva inverter system , my installer is giving me 3 m quotation plus installation with 7.5kva feleicity inverter . He said I should just get the 7.5kva felicity inveryer since I plan to use my A.c 1.5 inverter later on . That I will not regret it .
This is what he is offering
8 panels of 250 watts panels
7.5 kva felicity inverter
2 tubular batteries 220amp luminous
SMS charge controller .60amp
Surge protector
And after sales service for me .
Pls solar gurus in the house .
What’s your advise , I feel like it is too expensive, pls advise me .
This is my load currently .
65inches smart tv lg
Star link internet
1000 watts dvd lg players
One reachable fan
And small ox fan
8kg side loader washing machine .inverter
One standing inverter fridge
3 energy bulbs.
My target is 20 to 24 hours system . I will be waiting for your advise keenly .

That's a terrible quote.

Your load isn't that much, I have similar load that I run off a 3.3KVA SRNE inverter.

As long as you don't plan on running your AC, washing machine, and all other electronics simultaneously, I don't see why you'd need anything over the 3.5KVA range.

AC+washing machine is around 1600w. Every other load you listed is about 700w at most.

Unless you also want to future proof.

Personally, I'd go with

- 3-4KVA 24v hybrid inverter (400k) or 5KVA 48v hybrid (~550k)
- 5*580w Jinko panels (860k)
- Valto's 24v 7.6kwh battery at 1.55m or his 8.8kwh 48v battery at 1.7m

24v system will be cheaper. You do lose out slightly on efficiency compared to 48v, plus more cable costs. I'd say around 3.1m should get you a capable 24v system.

Techland's canadian 665 watts = 182875 a piece

27 pieces = 182875 x 27 = #4,937,625

Let's assume way billing is #200,000

Crating is #4,480 per 2 panels so for 27 panels there are approximately 14 pairs

4,480 x 14 = #62,720

Total cost for the 27 Canadian panels from Techland = #4,937,625 + #200,000 + #62,720 = #5,200,345

625w Jinko panel from fouani is #184,800

This means I'm buying 1 Jinko watt at 184800/625 = #295.68kobo

But for the Canadian panels the total watts I got is 665w x 27pieces = 17955 watts and you recall I spent #5,200,345 total to get them

This means I'm getting 1 Canadian watt at
5200345/17955 = #289.63kobo

Canadian panels is saving me #295.68 - #289.63 = #6.05 per watt

If I must get the exact same wattage from fouani's Jinko I'll be spending #295.68 per watt x 17955watts = #5,308,934.40

But I got same watts at Canadian for #5,200,345 which means Canada saved me #5,308,934.40 - #5,200,345 = #108,589.40 despite the additional crating and shipping fees.

So you see... Even with fouani's free shipping, Canada still stands tall

Nothing is actually free even in Freetown cry

Well, well, well. The maths doesn't lie.

Even with the annoying extra costs If you calm down and calculate you'd probably discover that the Canadian panels may still be cheaper than fouani's jinko

When you factor in shipping, Fouani will always be cheaper.

Gennex quoted me 75k for shipping of Jinko panels, I bought same panels from Fouani with free shipping.

Hi guys...
I got new lifepo4 batteries:
12v 172ah
24v 300ah

(A) I have a pwm solar charger for charging the 12v 172ah using only 4 X 100w panels.

Is that OK, or should I use an mppt solar charger that? If yes, which mppt should I use for such battery?

(B) For the 24v 300ah, which mppt do you advice me to get for optimal charging of lifepo4 battery?

I don't know much about all these, that's why I'm asking for trusted specific products for both scenarios. Thanks

1. Keep that PWM charger away from your lifepo4 battery, please. You can get decent MPPTs that are cheap and still charge lifepo4 without issues.

2. Any if the notable brands should be able to charge Lifepo4.
