Jobs/VacanciesRe: Transmission company of Nigeria (TCN). by Heisalive: 7:30am On Nov 17, 2013
agaj4life: Bro u mean they posting was not done according to zones?
Exactly! But that does not mean everybody will be out-rightly posted out of his/her zone. Majority of us will be lucky to remain in our zone, as some are left where they reside now, and some are posted out of their zone. This is just a concern to me as I initially assumed and wished everybody to remain in their zone. If we were all left at our various zones the better it is for us as this will aid our well-being, our understanding of d environment, sound communications with d people around and make our movement around our place of work easy. All of these will yield good productivity and quallity work at our various positions.

our salary still remain a mystery as nobody could tell accurately what we are going to earn. However, as usual, I was told that we will be entitled to so many allowances like transportation, wardrobe, accommodation e.t.c

Science/TechnologyRe: Why Birds Don't Get Electrocuted When They Climb Electric Cables by Heisalive: 5:14pm On Nov 01, 2013
My good guyz, this write-up will not make any headline as it is not new discovery. Though it is educative but not a comprehensive answer to why birds are not electrocuted when they stand on power lines. Your reason of equipotential is absolutely correct but is not complete. Your effort not to accept d popularly known answer is what fault ur write-up and make u not to realize that ur discovery is not new. The popularly known reason for d survival of birds on power lines remains d same i.e. D insulation on birds legs. Plz dont make what is simple to look complex. If u dont agree with me then answer this questions: why is it that bats are not protected by equipotential? if so human beings are not safe as well. Why is it paramount that a transmission line must be disconnected and grounded during maintenance when d engineers know of equipotential? My guyz, if u dont know, I want u to know that by default all transmission lines are connected to d ground thru air (with high capacitance in between) which gives a leakage current which is accounted for in power system engineering with d use of capacitor to model it. Hence, this is why current can flow thru anything that is in contact with power lines without insulator. The birds with insulator are exempted.

Jobs/VacanciesRe: Transmission company of Nigeria (TCN). by Heisalive:
Solutions_Guy: Some say it is 'severance package', some say it is 'approval of training budget', others say it is 'delay until they hand over DISCOs and GENCOs', some others even say it is that 'the recruitment wasn't transparent'. Lol, Lol and Lol again!!! It is just that people in here always want to hear something and soothe their burning anxiety. If one should tell him/herself the truth, how will approval of training money stop ordinary documentation. Govt owes itself and NAPTIN doesn't need bags full of cash to train TCN staff. They are all under the same ministry and will reconcile accounts later (even if they will be paid in the next 5 yrs).
Bottom-line, something is holding the process but all the hear-says pasted here are FAR from anything 'reliable'. It could be tomorrow, it could be February, it could be next one year, it could also be cancelled entirely. They are all very very possible options. Go get busy people! Go to school, go do some training, continue with your current work, or just do something, instead of sitting day-in day-out and swallowing doses of lies & getting deceived on this wall(at your age).
All fact are not truth , but all truth are fact: gbammmm! Considering all likely reasons that could cause delay of documentation, severance package, approval of training budget and d rest, d two mentioned reasons could actually cause the delay because they both have to do with money. I remember vividly that house of assembly questioned the Director-General, Budget Office of the Federation, Dr. Bright Okogu (http://www.punchng.com/news/nigeria-not-broke-but-cash-strapped-dg-budget-agf/) that the federation was broke but denied it and said the challenge they are facing is with cash flow not that the federation is broke.

But as for those who suggested malpractices during recruitment process is a fallacy/propaganda of the highest order.

I don't really see liars in this forum except for Sons of perdition who are looking, working and campaigning for cancellation of the appointment. I will advice them to desist and stop pasting things that could discredit the recruitment process.

mstpee: ..... Oga. U dey sure of dat one!! Hw person go pay u for work wey u neva do plus duty wey u neva assume!!!i kinda doubt that oooo.. They shld jst try and wrap up wit us... Heard that Naptin has shifted their dates again by 1week, ope that is enuf tym for TCN to wrap up evrythnng related to documentation and mobilize us for the training!!
My friend, there exist a law that binds offer and agreement. If Mr. A offered Mr. B something within a stipulated period and Mr. B does not respond, or responded by rejection, will be invalid after the specified period of time. But if Mr. B does agree, then, a deal as being struck.

However, if for any reason either of the parties wants to breach the agreement he/she should be ready to pay d penalty.

Here is d question, how do u see our scenario?

akym2005: l now discovered that those of u who makes comment on bad communication issue are lack of technical know how in the field high voltage system engineering therefore l pray that u will soon join us there because am in the field already just 8yrs experience so u are welcome no more comment from me again because l have already tested majority of u
8yrs of experience? Waoooooh that is a wealth of knowledge. I think u should be of more blessing to us than this.

Anyway, d 8yrs experience was it with TCN or other sector of power system engineering/high voltage engineering?
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Transmission company of Nigeria (TCN). by Heisalive:
I quote ''u hav fail and u dont know that disco also have 33kv and 11kv transmission lines that runs through the cities''

@akym2005, I want you to get things right without bad feelings or hatred of any sort. All I wanted you to know is that whenever u talk of discos, u'r talking of distribution lines, 33kv, 11kV and 415V. While for transcos are transmission lines of 330kV and 132kV. Here is it, u don't talk of discos and make mention of transmission line instead of saying distribution line.
Again get it, I don't wish anybody misfortune even my enemies talkless of PHCN staff. Moreover, it is a known fact that one of the largest employer of labour is power sector and it is not so in Nigeria. However, d present administration has found out the lapses in power sector, of which shortage of labour is one of them, and ready to correct them.
To cut it short, God's will shall surely prevail. The God that provides for ravens will not find it difficult to provide for me IJN.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Transmission company of Nigeria (TCN). by Heisalive:
@akym2005 kindly note that there is no line such as 33kV and 11kV transmission lines rather they are distribution lines. Distribution stage of power system is at voltage level where consumers can either directly or indirectly make use of.
Again note, nobody knows it all, we all learn every day. The zeal to learn is what matter most.

D word of d Lord is a Lamp to my feet and a Light to my path. I declare clarity to every ambiguity regarding TCN employment @ dis hour IJN.
Peace b still He commanded. I hereby command peace in d minds of all who are disturbed with this employment IJN.
Elijah asked his servant, with all expectations, to look if d rain is coming and it eventually came. I hereby request everybody to be on d look as the rain of smile will fall on our faces IJN.
