Every person has their preference. Amazon doesnt enforce a specific page number but I prefer atleast 80 pages...ideally 100 pages or thereabout

Ask a freelancer to format your book for you then analyse what they did so you can start doing so yourself.

I can't reveal specific book formatting strategies that enhance royalties as they're covered in the blueprint

Some of the strategies in the blueprint can help with low content publishing. However, as a business model it's a lot tougher..you'll have to play the volume game instead of margin. Pump out lots of journals, diaries etc. And hope that they take off. This strategy is best suited for holiday periods as people tend to buy those things as gifts...other times of the year they dont do so well..

Reflecting Back On A Wonderful 2019

Last year was a great year for so many reasons. I proved to myself (and a lot of others) that it is indeed possible to make money online LEGITIMATELY (not just via yahoo yahoo)

Revenue was over $142,000 (N51 million) and profit was over $100,000 (N36 million) after deducting ALL expenses including cost of hiring ghostwriters, audiobook narrators, running ads etc.

This total royalty is across Kenp, ebooks, paperbacks, audiobooks and hardcovers

When you think about it, it's quite incredible. A number of people who followed my journey throughout last year saw my progress month by month as I updated screenshots.

Some of those people summoned enough courage to give publishing a go and I wish them the very best. Some of them are already seeing amazing results and I can only encourage you to keep pushing.

To those still looking for a viable way to make money online PASSIVELY, you don't need to look any further. This is it

To further emphasis the point, while I was at the NYSC orientation camp, I did absolutely nothing with regards to publishing and I still made close to N4 million that month (in November 2019)..my books worked for me while I was in camp!

Kindle Publishing is still very viable in 2020 and it'll continue to be viable for those that work hard and put in the consistent effort required

Update on Mentorship

For those who are interested in my mentorship program, unfortunately, I won't be running it anytime soon due to time constraints and the fact that it is not very scalable. Taking one student through every step of the publishing process via skype video is something, doing it for 4-10 students is something else and l can easily burnout. Given that I'm currently doing NYSC, the excess workload and potential burnout is not something I fancy.

As a result, I created the keyword research video in anticipation of this issue. One of the aspects of publishing that can help you save a lot of money is when it comes to formatting your own book. When I started I used to go to fiverr to get it done, I would then analyze what was done and how it was done. After a while, I started doing it myself

Unless you're extremely busy, its advisable to do these things yourself if you can

The niche you enter will determine how well you perform in your publishing business.

Some niches allow you to sell a lot of paperbacks while others sell more page reads and/or audiobooks

As we all know, paperbacks have a lot more profit margin than ebooks/audiobooks so if you want to scale your earnings, target niches that lend themselves well to paperback sales

The blueprint goes into a lot more depth about this.

Another aspect you need to pay attention to is exposure. No matter how good a keyword is, if it's too saturated (a lot of competition and so very difficult to rank on page 1 or 2) you'll find it difficult to get sales. One way to alleviate this is to find a profitable keyword and then niche down properly. This will help you to still be visible for that major keyword and yet exposed to a lot of other less competitive keywords

Dont just waste time and money publishing and hoping to do well, publish strategically and maximize your chance of doing well

I am hiding my face to share this. But I am sharing this any way cuz I just realized that this same amount is someone's else monthly salary for a 6am to 6pm job. When you realize that, you have no choice but to feel motivated.

Are you not seeing sales? Don't relent. Set a target. Keep writing and go keywords hunting. It's just a matter of time before sales will start drizzling in.

No amount is too small. When I started I was making as little as $100 a month..you just have to keep publishing and refining your strategies..sooner or later one of your books will hit it big time..you then analyse what worked well and do more of that

I started publishing in December 2019 and presently, I have one Fiction, one nonfiction and about six low contents (journals). But my broad I just had ab eBook sale yesterday. Almost a month and just one sale.

Qualities of a good book title/subtitle

1. It identifies your unique selling proposition
2. It identifies your target audience
3. It makes a promise (something believable and specific)
4. It's not too long and spammy (short and concise always works)

Your ability to manage your finances as an entrepreneur will determine how well you succeed in the game of publishing. Managing your cashflow is critical to scaling your business. If you don't have the discipline to consistently reinvest back into your business, you'll find it difficult to grow your earnings over time.

I am not very active on this forum but having seen some of your contributions regarding the kindle publishing business, I felt compelled to go through your posts and learn as much as possible from your posts. As I went through them, however, I noticed that you were relentlessly posting the same thing over and over again in a bid to attract students/customers and to be honest, I think it is okay to demand money but it is possible that you are mistaking the British environment for Nigeria.

In as much as I believe you are truly earning what you are posting around, I have to admit that 90% of people wouldn't pay a 100k for a mentorship to somebody they don't know online. Why?

1) people get scammed of money as little 30k online and they never get to recover the money. With this in mind, how many people do you expect to risk losing a 100k in this economy? This is Nigeria and not the UK

2) As I have stated earlier, this is Nigeria. Most of the people on this forum are probably new graduates, underemployed people and undergraduates. Do you expect them to sell their laptops for your mentorship?

3) I am not doubting your credibility in any way but let us think from the perspective of an average Nigerian. This is the age where virtually any picture can be doctored online and whats worse is that the kdp reports page doesn't give anything to prove that the dashboard is yours. Secondly, the average Nigerian would ask, 'why would he be spending hours on Nairaland spamming pages with the same content over and over again just to make 20-200k once in a blue moon when he is actually making over 3 million naira every month? An alternative, which would save you a lot of time for a little change is there for you. Why can't you use it? I'm talking about NAIRALAND ADS. Trust me, people trust what they see on ads more than what you are doing here.

No, I am not saying that it is wrong for you to charge money for your mentorship. Even the richest entrepreneurs and dating coaches charge peanuts that they don't even need to teach people. This is because most people only give value to things they actually pay for. That is why when I use free ebooks promotions (yes, I'm into KDP too though I am far far below your level), I hardly get reviews but once up to 5 people buy the book, I get at least 1 review.

Dear helioshay, as a fellow Nigerian with good intentions, I would advise you to break your fees into 2 parts. 50k for the commencement of the mentorship and then after your customers have learnt to a certain extent and have made a few bucks, they pay another 50k and then you conclude the exercise

Thank you for your selflessness on this forum and I honestly wish you much more success in your publishing/mentorship business.

The mentorship is very expensive because I have to painstakingly go through every process with the student via skype video calls. This process is not very scalable as I am limited by the number of students I can handle without burning out and neglecting my own business.

This is exactly why I came out with the kindle blueprint and the keyword research video. These resources essentially summarized all I teach the students in my mentorship. The video shows the practical aspect of it while the blueprint goes deep into the individual strategies I use to publish books on Amazon.

The blueprint is already significantly cheaper compared to the mentorship..so is the research video.

With regards to the mentorship program, I cannot do it at the moment as I dont have the freedom I used to have considering I'm doing my NYSC.

People who are interested in making money online with kindle publishing simply have to follow the strategies and rinse and repeat with each book.

Before you start your publishing business essay you have to decide which strategy you want to use. You can either play the volume game where you pump out as much content as possible without paying particular attention to how good they are. The emphasis here is to dominate the online real estate at Amazon

The other strategy is to play the quality game where you dont pump out as much content as possible but each content is of premium quality.

This is also applicable in the no content/low content section of the publishing world. Some people put in a lot of time creating bespoke journals that look incredible and shows a lot of attention to detail. Others choose to create an average journal template and then scale this template to create multiple other journals they can then upload on Amazon.

With bespoke journals you can perhaps charge a higher price but with the average journals you're limited in terms of how much you can charge.

Whatever strategy you decide to go with, you just have to focus on it and give it your all..dont waste your energy and time doing both
