Please, what do I need to be able to use my laptop when I travel to Nigeria? (i.e., cords). I know that I will probably need an adapter but what else can anyone recommend so that my laptop doesn't ruin or give me problems while there. I'm coming from the US. Thanks ![]() |
The OP is just pathetic. He is not even a woman yet he wants to tell African women how to carry a baby. When did he born pikin? Why must everything done by Africans be deemed primitive? More so, it is even Africans that help to perpetuate the stereotype that Africans are "backwards" and "uncivilized". @OP, stop looking to the white man to "save" and legitimize your existence. You can stop doing all the "primitive" things they tell you to, but you will still remain "uncivilized" in their eyes. PS: You're a disgrace to Nigeria and all things African. |
Good. Next time when I'm in Lagos I won't be subjected to testimonies of cheating death at 3 am. mschewwwwwwwww |
Good for her. I like her. Yes she does dress somewhat provocatively but she is still a great actress! Go girl ![]() |
Some people on this forum like to drag discussions into different directions. Who cares which gender cheats more or blah blah blah. The OP is hurting and needs advice on what to do. @OP, you have handled it well so far. I won't tell you to just divorce her because divorce is something that is easier said than done and it's clear that you really love your wife. Take the time off and consider what you want to do but most importantly TALK to your wife. While you are away, you guys can just really open up about the issues you both have in the marriage. What she did was wrong. Period. Find out why she has been distant lately and if she is willing to work on the marriage. After that, you both have to make a conscious decision to fix the issues. It appears that distance is the biggest issue facing the two of you. Just be candid, honest and clear with your wife. Forget issues of pride. This is your life and your wife we are talking about here. Sincerity will get you a long way!! |
@ ACIDOSIS- you're a big fool!!!! ![]() What does my being female or feminine have to do with my asking the cost of roadside food or mama put?? I swear some people are so stupid! Please, tell me, what is the correlation? Idiot. I know how to cook- do you? Goat. I bet you eat mama put everyday so stop acting brand new! |
Woah I didn't expect these many responses LOL ! FYI, it's for research purposes. I didn't know the cost because I am not based in Nigeria. So all the people causing wahala- STFU!!!!Thanks to those who provided some info ![]() |
@ Ifuk- thank you! ![]() |
This may seem silly but I need to know, what is the cost of lets say a full meal (i.e., rice and stew with dodo etc.) at Mama put joint in Lagos, and Abuja (in Naira of course)? Thanks in Advanced. |
Funny topic. I myself am left-handed, well ambidextrous actually. The only thing I do with my right hand is write. I eat with my left, and do everything else with my left. The reason I write with my right hand is because as a child when I was learning to write, I was the only left-handed child in the class. I felt so out of place LOL. Also, when the teacher was teaching us how to write I literally copied her every move, and that also contributed to me using my right hand only for writing. Growing up my parents used to force me to eat with my right hand. I just couldn't do it - I always reverted to using my left hand. The funny thing is that all my siblings born after me are full lefties. Guess it's in our genes so my folks stop pushing us to use the right hand . |
Ok I would just like to get some opinions here regarding dowry. What do some of you members think is too much or too little? For example, does N600K sound like an absurd amount to expect? BTW, say the guy is earning a bankers salary (semi-entry level). I'm just trying to gauge the issue. Personally I don't like the whole dowry issue. But it's part of my Igbo "culture" .Sorry, I should also add that the guy does have some money but besides that I still think the whole dowry system should be abolished. |
Just watched it. Had to struggle to find a link that's viewable outside of the UK but I finally found one. Anyways, I quite liked it. I thought it was insightful in numerous ways. Yes, it shows one slum in Lagos, however what they showed is what the people in that area experience. I guess we should wait to see the entire series and then really weigh in. Oh and I respect Joseph Orji. Even after his hard life he still manages to smile. oooo and his kids are so cute!!!! ![]() |
Wow. @ OP, I want to say, sure go marry him, but it seems like you have not looked at some other big issues. Have you guys discussed how you will raise your children? Will he be happy with the kids being Christians? Or are you willing to raise your kids outside of the church? Make sure you think this through very well. He does seem like a decent guy but remember: marriage is about compromise so ask yourself if your faith (and possibly that of your kids) is really something you will be able to compromise in your relationship. |
U no hear word? Ikebe na moniiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii! LMAO -she's blatantly telling women to prostitute! ![]() |
bobokelly:Yes the bible makes many things clear about marriage that many men do not adhere to. All you men quoting the bible I'm sure you all overlook the commandment that says you should not commit adultery. I have many friends that try to follow all the bible says about how to treat their husbands yet these same men are cheating on them everyday and my girls can't understand why given that they are "following all stipulated in the bible." Greeting your husband first may be a sign of respect- yes, but anyone thinking that doing so means your man will respect you and treat you right is seriously delusional. Women always have to strive to be perfect and for what? Nothing is gauranteed sha. |
Gosh OP, you are so judgmental! There are many verses about being non-judgmental, how come you don't adhere to those? BTW, given the way men groom today, can't the same principle extend to men? Yet, the poster has only focused on women. Typical. |
@ OP, you say that u guys have been together for 8 yrs, if so, then she is his wife that has finally come to join him in the USA. Don't allow them to get away with this and treat you like this. Plan your exit strategy before they turn around and run you out of your own home. Secure your finances ASAP, and do all you can to ensure that you will not suffer more than you have to. If they get wind that you are "asking too many questions" they can turn on you and you will have lost even more. All the best. |
Not true. I already got a gift for my BF that I know he will love on V-day. It's not about the money its about the thought that goes into it. And girls do buy vals gifts for their boyfriends as well. |
Well it depends on the couple. If my husband expects that I should do most if not all of the domestic work, then ya, he better be ready to bear most if not all the financial expenses----even if I am also making an income. If we both have 2 arms and legs but I'm the only one dealing with the domestic work, then best believe that even if we are both working, he must take care of financial expenses. Men always expect so much from women. We must work, clean, cook, sex, take care of everything. What do ya'll do. The least you can do is bring in the bacon. |
Godmother:Ya, this is the fear. hmmmm |
Just wondering, Can a woman in say, law school or medical school, or even achieving a higher degree, date a man with no university education? Or say she is pursuing a higher degree (med/ law degree) and the man is just starting out with his education? Express your thoughts! |
woye77:WOW some really daft people on here. So all those husbands that beat their wives and children, and even molest and abuse them should still have their wives submit to them? lol. You're a big time monkey. I feel sorry for any woman that dates you. *shudders* |
The parents are very evil! How can they place that kind of pressure on their daughter? Wow. I feel for the girl. She should try and see if her "husband" is willing to seek medical help. If not, she should leave. She's young. She can find someone else. Her parents should be ashamed. |
UGG boots are hideous on women so you better believe that they are disgusting on men! If my man came to me while wearing one, I will straight slap him! WTF! Guys (and gals)-stay away from UGGS. lol |
You can use milk to tenderize the meat. Also add a few drops of lemon to the milk. It will help to break down the protein of the meat. |
I know two people named, GoodNews, and Wiseman. LMAO |
@OP, wow. I can't believe you are even considering what the pastor said. What is the merit behind what he said. Sure, maybe you can view what he said as a message that you should be wary of the new girl, but to want to completely ditch the new one for the ex girl who completely disrespected you is shocking. If you are concerned about the new girl as a result of what he said, then take the time to get to know her better. But dont just dump her and run to the ex. |
^^not her. Bring up a topic about YOU getting a second phone. See how she reacts and if she uses the opp to tell u she also has 2 phones. ya, know, just go snoop about the phone. Your answers are there. No need to waste time sef. |
@OP don't panic. First do some investigation. Look at where and how she hides the phone. Bring up a discussion about getting another phone and say something like "sweetie, I wanna get a second phone. I dont know too many people that have 2 phones, do you think its weird?" The point is to casually bring up having 2 phones in a way so that you will see if she turns to tell u that she herself has one. Also since u know where she hides it why not keep going to check the phone history, and text messages. Don't just confront her yet, until you are certain that she is doing something. I hate to add though, be prepared to find out the worst, but hope for the best. Oop! Appears that ur in Naija, everyone got 2 or more phones there. Thought u were overseas lol. Anyways, just bring up getting another phone and see what she says. |
This thread had me rolling. LMAO. Obviously some of you dont know what causes stretch marks-its skin that has been stretched. And yes, skinny people have them.lol. My guy would rather have a girl that is slim/fit with stretch marks than a babe with over protruding belly, that looks like she has already carried 5 children when all she has been doing is eating eba, rice, and more rice. mscheeeeeeeeewwwwwwwwwww. |
