A relative reached out to me the other day for help via WhatsApp saying his family was starving. I called him later on and he was at a bar drinking. I said haa, uncle you still see money to dey drink beer and he responded saying "I'm drinking to forget the too many problems in this country".

I was furious at that point. I respectfully told him, do you know if you had saved money you spent on two bottles of beer, that's dinner money right there.

The thing is that Nigerians hate to make adjustments. Small thing, they start begging for help when all they need is just little adjustment and everything will be fine.

What they don't realize is that their family members abroad work round the clock and deny themselves some good things of life just to make extra and send back home whereas they the recipients don't want to deny themselves anything.

They do owambe all the time and still expect you that don't have the liberty to do an owambe to sponsor their own owambe. No be juju be that?

in addition to my earlier reply, the poor are not safer or more fortunate than those jailed for 30 years in the best american prisons. Why celebrate the chance of raping a poor mad woman in order to have miserable or deformed children due to freedom to be a poor mad man on the street? U must be a sadist celebrating the sorrows of innocent bbies born to suffer in a terrible world at least ,u should have reasons to be visited by sons of guns, daughters of the snake queen,it may sound baseless 2 u, but ur blood may be honey.

it is middle and upper class that can have good health. poor people cant have good health .they are born into or exist in a situation exposing them to infections. Me,for example, i have almost died many times,i have an infection still on my head 4 more than ten years. There is nothing good about enduring terrible stuff till death. In addition,poor people die preventable deaths a lot more often. If u really know poverty(lack of necessities) by experience,u wont mention good. There is a limit to how u can address damages caused by poverty. I mean ,some will stick with u,till death.

Because my brain is not accomodating it. I inevitably see my environment as an unplanned burden,not as a proof of god. sadly ,death cant change that. go ahead and call me names, am used to it

There has never been and there will never be any reason to regret saying it. Nigeria has the most unfortunate set of poor people.

Hoping this will be applied positively in terms of ensuring that those who steal from people's bank accounts will without delay be fished out by their own banks especially when the victim reports loss of funds, not that there will be unnecessary protocols of going to the Police and court first.

This will help even Nigerians outside Nigeria to recover easily their money and lighten the burden on EFCC also, boost confidence in our banking system IF NOT, all is still 'wash' and has no direct benefit to Nigerian masses.

thats what a poor person would say for the first few months, but thereafter you will still cry to be free.many homeless people in Europe have shelters they can go to but rather stay in the streets because they are FREE to do what they want there. many prisoners dont want to leave the prison after a long sentence because they have been MENTALLY BROKEN by the penitentiary system, and these people cant/wont live in the real world any longer, thus they'd rather stay in jail if they could. but remember, they give you free food and free TV, but lock you up like an animal for 23hs per day. having free food and free place to watch tv, while being locked up all day long, is NOT LIFE

freedom to do WHAT you want to do, WHENEVER you want to do it, is the biggest wealth in a person's life (after his/her health). dont get it twisted.
