PoliticsRe: Jonathan Ministers Sold One Million Barrels Of Oil Per Day- Buhari by henryboff(m): 1:53pm On Jul 22, 2015
989900:
Another e-f00l/warrior comes to the party.

Some things are just beyond your wheelhouse kid. And, it's never mandatory (actually presumptuous) to meddle into things you know next to nothing about.

That officially, Nigeria's Opec 'export-cap' is 2.2-2.5 mbpd does not necessarily translates to 'drilling/smuggling/bunkering cap'.

While, the 250k or 1m bpd speculation needs to be verified, it does not mean it is not doable.

Even the past admin alluded to over 400k bpd in oil theft. And any 10 year old raised in Nigeria with half-a-brain, can easily decipher that, if the gov't alludes to 400k, simply multiply that by 2-3 times for actual loss.

Now, what part of the above is beyond your comprehension, or you do have a better factual explanation for; as I will like to 'shut up' now.
In order to have "sellable" crude oil you need to process what you get from the oil wells a bit. Oil has to meet certain requirements like SG, water content, GOR etc before it can be sold. That is what "oil facilities" do. As you know oil facilities are usually rated by the number of bpd they can process. I do not think that we have the capacity to process 1million barrels per day of "sellable" oil in addition to our OPEC quota.

So are you saying that they steal this oil directly from the wells?
PoliticsRe: Buhari Rejects US Gay Marriage. by henryboff(m): 1:38pm On Jul 22, 2015
Which one be "President Muhammadu Buhari has rejected the gay marriage offer by the United States of America," ? Did Obama offer to marry PMB? grin

Nigerian politicians should please stop taking Nigerians for a ride.
PoliticsRe: Jonathan Ministers Sold One Million Barrels Of Oil Per Day- Buhari by henryboff(m): 12:54pm On Jul 22, 2015
While I agree that the figures being bandied about ( 1 million barrels per day) are outrageous, the fact remains that Nigerian crude oil was and is still being stolen daily.

We Nigerians should be proposing solutions to this issue of bunkering of our crude, but rather than do that we are here on Nairaland arguing about the quantity of crude oil that is stolen.
PoliticsRe: Buhari's Article: Buhari Was Right On Obama's Cabinet by henryboff(m): 12:33pm On Jul 22, 2015
I am only interested in what is good for Nigeria. While PMB has his reasons for tarrying with the ministerial nominations, any objective Nigerian knows that this delay is causing serious problems for our country.

Instead of facing the issues, we Nigerians have formed a very bad habit of defending a position by all means possible irrespective of whether that position is right or wrong.

The issue here is that ministers have not been nominated and this is causing problems. So how does this thread help in solving the problem?

It is quite clear that PMB was not entirely correct with his statement, but the question is why are we Nigerians arguing over a statement when we should rather be trying to assist the present administration in solving the many issues facing Nigeria.

EducationRe: Pls I Need Help In My Studying by henryboff(m): 9:45am On Apr 07, 2015
Originalsly:
From your writing....I think you are not ready for university level education. If you successfully completed secondary education you would know how to study, to retain and apply what you learned. University is not the place to learn and practice how to study.... and whatever course you are doing... you need to have above a certain level of knowledge and understanding or the lectures and work would be above your head. If you find it is then maybe you need to take a break and reapply later when you are better prepared.
Bros na wa for you oo. So e don be bad thing to talk say person get problem? The OP has don no wrong here and should not be crucified.
EducationRe: Pls I Need Help In My Studying by henryboff(m):
@op don't despair. It is not just about reading and cramming. It is more important to actually understand what you have read. During my uni days I tried to read and also ensure that I wrote a short text stating what I understood from what I read. Overtime, I discovered that the way I read actually changed. I realized that in every paragraph of a book there is a key sentence that conveys the message. The key is to find that message and understand it. This will have a profound impact on how you study and ultimately on your grades. You have to study smart and hard.
And also, you need good food and sleep. Don't be in a rush to spend 6 hours straight at night in a class room under the guise that you are reading. Trust me it is counter productive. If you plan your time well, you may not even need to go to class at night. Use the nights to sleep.
PoliticsRe: Buhari To Address Nigerians At 11am by henryboff(m): 7:11am On Apr 01, 2015
I do not believe that Buhari and APC should make a national address. For God's sake we have a sitting president and it is only the president that has that right. This is over reaching. Yes GMB is president elect but he must realize that he is not president until May 29th and does not have presidential rights until then. If he wants to address his supporters he should do so by having a victory rally rather than a national address!!!!

FamilyRe: Can A Fiancee Beater Change In A Marriage? by henryboff(m): 2:30pm On Dec 12, 2013
One thing you have to note is that once you start beating a lady it only gets easier to justify beating her more often. So the probability that he will change is next to zero. It will only take a life changing experience to change such a man.
It's like pointing a gun at a human being and pulling the trigger. It only gets easier after the first time. That is why we have the saying "once a killer always a killer"
EducationRe: Chemical Engineering Vs Petroleum Engineering by henryboff(m): 2:16pm On Sep 17, 2013
Based on the little information I have, petroleum engineering deals with the processes and operations that are carried out to bring oil or gas from the reservoir to the surface. Typical aspects of petroleum engineering are drilling, reservoir studies, well operations, seismic studies etc. In some universities petroleum engineering is studied under earth sciences.
Chemical engineering on the other hand deals with what happens to the oil and gas from the point it is extracted from the reservoir to the point it is used. Typical aspects of chemical engineering are processing of oil or gas to sales specifcation, refining of oil to produce petrol and other products (plastics etc), gas to liquid processes (GTL), natural gas liquifaction (LNG) production, pipeline transport of oil or gas and other such issues. Chemical engineering is not restricted to the oil and gas industry.
In my opinion with regards to job prospects, chemical engineering gives an individual the opportunity to work with a wider range of industries than petroleum engineering.

PoliticsRe: House Rejects Part-time Legislature Proposal by henryboff(m): 1:47pm On Aug 21, 2013
Yoshi-Master:
I think I might do that, I just don't like the way political parties operate in Nigeria, where they oppose everything by the opposition whether good or bad. I heard you can run as an independent, but I don't know how much success one can get from being an independent candidate within the current political atmosphere in Nigeria.

Guess I will have to join a party, and hope that I get there someday to be able to make a difference.
The political situation can only change when people who want positive change start by participating in the process. You may not win at first but your mere presence sends a message.

TV/MoviesRe: Big Brother Africa: How Multichoice/dstv Is Under-developing Africa by henryboff(m): 12:32pm On Aug 21, 2013
Nigerians and hypocrisy go hand in hand.
In a country where 17 year old girls see having a sugar daddy as a normal part of growing up; where rape has a maximum penalty of 2 years imprisonment; where lecturers demanding and receiving sex from students in exchange for passing grades is seen as normal runss (note that I did not specify the gender of the students or lecturers); where you can find pornographic materials on most smart phones; where government officials host lavish parties where anything goes; and we are here complaining about a reality TV show (which by the way is rated 18) showing half baked pornographic scenes.
We need to grow up and face the reality of the present day.
PoliticsRe: House Rejects Part-time Legislature Proposal by henryboff(m): 12:00pm On Aug 21, 2013
Naija I hail thee. We will always come to Nairaland and rant without actually taking any actions or proposing any solutions. We all know that we have rogues in the legislature and that they are very well paid rogues but every election year we go to the polls and elect the same set of rogues into office again.
I am sure that most of the people here ranting will not do any better if put in the same situation. Naija is the one country I know where people who are actually qualified and suited for elective offices actually shy away from politics. These same people will now come to Nairaland and say all sorts of things about the thugs that they allowed to take those offices in the first place.
BusinessRe: Western Union Launches Mobile Money Service In Nigeria by henryboff(m): 11:11am On Aug 21, 2013
OAM4J: Why is it still not possible to send money through western union from Nigeria but one can only receive in Nigeria? Or has that changed?

I think that should be the 1st thing Western Union and the likes of Moneygram should address.
I think it is more of a governmental and economic strategy issue. Officially Nigeria has very strict controls on outgoing international wire transfers to help control capital flight and money laundering and also to try to reduce the demand for foreign currency in the system.
Science/TechnologyRe: Cost Of Different Sources Of Electricity In Nigeria by henryboff(m): 2:54pm On Apr 08, 2013
Boss solar panels are not very practical. What happens in a place like PH where you can have rains for one week continiously? If your plan is to build large solar farms in Northern Nigeria and then set up a "Solar power grid" then that is a different case. If you are talking about mounting solar panels on an individual house basis then I am sorry to have to burst your bubble.
Also there is no way you can make me believe that solar power is cheaper than the grid.
Nigerians buy generators because they are the most practical solution to the problem as it is now. In my opinion the only selling point of solar panels is that they produce so called "green energy".
HealthRe: Woman Delivered Of 25 Months Pregnancy - Miracle Working God by henryboff(m): 12:05pm On Feb 27, 2013

MAYOWAAK: In December, however, Madam Evangelist Oluwasola, asked her to have a special test in her laboratory wherein the red blood cells were separated from the white blood cells, and that was it – the result revealed that she was pregnant.

Mrs Adeoye menstruated till January 2013 and vomited everyday in January till she had the baby on January 15th in the night at the mission house.
“The delivery, though painful, was simple. I was not in labour for too long before I had the baby, may be three to five minutes and the baby came, a girl. And we christened her Emmanuela, Opelope-Jesu, Ite-Oluwa-kii-si Adeoye,” the new mother stated.

[b][quote author=MAYOWAAK]Naija I hail thee oooo.
Question 1: Doctors in the house can you please educate me on the type of pregnancy test that requires red blood cells to be seperated from white blood cells? I always thought that pregnancy tests were looking for specific hormones in the body! But I am not a specialist in this so I may be wrong. Can someone please enlighten me?

Question 2: Why should someone with a 25 month old pregnancy give birth in a "mission house"? Maybe we do not have any hospitals in naija that are capable of delivering a 25 month old baby.

Question 3: What type of labour lasts for five minutes?

Anyways naija police na wa. Them no go see real case here to solve na to dey open office for highway dem sabi!!!!!
Na only for naija wey person go "borrow" another person baby come dey announce am for newspaper.

FamilyRe: Am I Extravagant With N80K And Above Monthly Spending? by henryboff(m): 12:27pm On Oct 18, 2012
Hey poster, I think this depends on how much you earn. If you earn 85K and spend 80K then I would say you have a problem. But realistically, I do not think that spending 80K monthly is extravagant. Based on the fact that you have a wife and kid, I actually think that you are quite frugal. But like I said earlier this all depends on your income.
