PhonesRe: The Prices Of Gionee M6 And M6 Plus Will Surprise You by henryboff(m): 9:22pm On Jul 30, 2016
bongolistik:
The monstrous battery capacity Gionee M6 device has been launched together with elder brother Gionee M6 Plus

Now the only differences between the Gionee M6 and Gionee M6 Plus can be seen in their display sizes and batteries.

While the Gionee M6 spots 5.5inches display together with 5000mAh battery, the M6 Plus on the other hand is bigger, featuring 6.0 inches display and 6020mAh battery capacity, sharing similar battery capacity with their younger brother Gionee M5.

Another important feature to note on the Gionee M6 and M6 Plus is that they both came in 2 variants of 64GB and 128GB internal storage.

But we are interested in taking look at the price tags for these two devices.

The launch price for Gionee M6 64GB variant was pegged somewhere around $409 (N122,700) while its 128GB variant is around $439 (N131,700).

Then on the Gionee M6 Plus 64GB variant, the launch price was place at around $454 (N136,200) and its 128GB variant stood somewhere around $485 (N145,500).

Having seen the prices for the Gionee M6 and M6 Plus newly launched devices, what are your take on the prices? Do you consider them pricey or are the prices truly commensurate with the powerful specs that the devices are packed with.

Or will you rather go for Samsung devices of similar price range? What are your takes?

Car TalkRe: Why Is It Hard For Nigerians To Stay In Their Lanes While Driving. by henryboff(m): 10:55am On Jul 01, 2016
kYjelly2:
Okay, so the government has done its job on some roads by providing clear lane markings, yet some or most motorists in Nigeria take these lane markings simply as decorations undecided

I get soooooooo angry driving in Lagos sometimes, that I find myself cursing almost everyone.

Do they even realize how dangerous it ishuh

You will be driving in ur lane, then some animal would now leave his lane and start veering into urs, like da fvckhuh

What is so hard in driving straight and using ur turn signals when ready to switch laneshuh

Honestly, if I was white, I'd be a racist after witnessing this sort of jungle driving. I'd think that blacks are animals, true story.

The most annoying one is on a 3 lane road like lekki epe, when I'm driving on the extreme left lane and some mudafvcker in the middle lanenow has half of his car in his lane and the other half in my lane. In essence almost pushing me into the concrete sepetator on my left.

Why am I a Nigerian sef, why am I blackhuh

Don't even get me started with danfos and conductors hanging on the back of busses like real animals.

No law enforcement, nothing. Fvcking annoying
Bros oo you no suppose dey drive for the extreme left lane. This lane na for overtaking

I disagree with you on most point but agree with a few. If you truly understand what floating of the exchange rate means you will realize that the CBN has effectively left the value of the Naira to the forces of demand and supply. Anybody that has dollar is now free to sell at whatever rate he decides that the buyers are willing to pay.
As it is now there is no dollar ( ie no supply) so the Naira will definitely devalue in the banks. On the black market however the naira has always floated so I don't foresee much change. The gap between the bank rate and the black rate will reduce.
Fuel prices will likely increase and not decrease as you claim.

Nawa for naija ooo. I thought that they said that these people stole hundreds of millions of dollars or even billions. After all the wahala we now charge them for a mere fraction of a fraction of what we accuse them of ( approx. 7,5 million USD at todays rates). In my honest opinion this is simply a case of we must catch them for something no matter what it is.
I am not in any way justifying corruption and stealing oo but we should not play politics with this fight against corruption. In my opinion if we carry on like this then this "fight" is dead on arrival.

PhonesRe: Why you should buy A 5000mAh Battery Phone by henryboff(m): 10:03am On Jun 07, 2016
stalyf:
The improvement of smartphones over the years in terms of specs and sophistication has been awesome. With Android, many things which were initially imagined were all of a sudden made possible.

At one point in time, it was hard to imagine a phone with a screen larger than 4 inches. 4" display was considered more than enough. But over time, courtesy of Android, bigger displays came into existence denying all assumptions. Phone screen size went on increasing, and finally it reached the maximum possible size that, one can hold in his hand. At present, 5" screen size has become the standard size but it is hard to feed large screens.

Aside bigger screen size; modern smartphones have faster processors, HD gaming abilities and not forgetting that Android which is the major OS is a resource consuming OS, it therefore requires more RAM and CPU which are all battery drainers.

Many of these phones with big screen and good specs but with regular 1500mAh to 2400mAh batteries can barely stay up to 12 hours at moderate use. It is safe to say therefore that all these good features of the modern smartphones came with a price; the major one being the rate of battery consumption. Gone are the days when your phone can last 2 to 3 days without charging.

Because of these battery challenges, many phone manufacturers innovated and brought in super battery phones to make consumers happy. We now see phones with 4000mAh, 5000mAh and even 6000mAh. These are massive juice to keep you going.
Is there anyone who doesn't love a big-capacity battery? For many people, the battery life is the single most important consideration when buying a new phone.

The advantages of having these big battery phones cannot be over emphasized enough especially in a country like Nigeria where epileptic power supply is the order of the day. Assuming you have a phone with 5000mAh battery capacity, you are certain that would last you well over a day at moderate use. Instead of carrying your charger about everywhere and always on the lookout for charging points, you can move lighter and much more conveniently while being rest assured that your phone would see you through the day.

You would also save money with a big battery phone. Money that would have gone into buying a power bank to supplement a small battery phone would be used for something more useful. 5,000 naira might look small but not everyone can afford such amount for power bank in Nigeria with the current economic situation.

Finally, a big battery phone gives you the ability to work much more efficiently, play games, browse and stream videos without thinking of battery consumption as your battery got your back.

What are the other advantages of having A BIG battery phone that you can think of?
OP I believe that you are trying but it is my opinion that your post is a bit misleading. The biggest factor determining the standby time of your phone is the chip. If you like make you carry 2 car batteries connect to a phone if the chip consumes too much power in standby mode then the batteries go die quick quick (pardon the exaggeration na just to make point). Also the efficiency of the chip is also important. If the chip produces too much heat during use this will lead to quick quick draining of the battery.
So rather than focus on battery capacity, I go talk say make you buy phone with a very efficient chip and you will get a longer lasting battery.

PhonesRe: How To Buy A Charger That Can Charge Your Phone Faster by henryboff(m): 2:30pm On Jun 06, 2016
Please I beg una, No listen to this poster. Charging a phone with a charger that the phone is not designed for is the biggest fire hazard there is. Batteries are designed to be charged at a specific rate. Charging at a higher rate will very likely cause the battery to explode. A word is enough for the wise. Remember say fire service for naija na film tricks ooo.

How much was a barrel of crude oil as at January 2012?
..
How much is a barrel of crude oil as at May 2016?
..
Its sickening when humans decide to feign blindness to reality just to forment chaos and pollute the minds of other gullible souls. We had the financial capability to pay subsidies at at 2012 and for any leader then to have suggested its removal was unreasonable; specially not GEJ's corrupt administration. Had we acquiesced to the removal of subsidy then, no1 here would have been able to spell out the amounts of money politicians in that era would have stolen.
..
Now the country is broke, prices of crude oil have dropped below sea level, we're barely managing to keep the nation on its toes and somebody still wants us to keep paying subsidy that never even guarantees availability of petroleum products. Four weeks ago we were paying subsidy, four weeks ago, I bought a liter of fuel for 210naira in a petrol station; where then was the benefit of the so-called subsidy? Indeed the country's tough to survive in lately, but you have to till the farm with your back to the scorching sun, before planting and reaping good farm products. Even if Buhari hasnt brought milk and honey to your neighbourhood in his one-year-presidency, its no use calling him names because PDP didnt offer you sugar and groundnut in their 16years of economic mal-treatment.
Chairman, you forget say when prices of crude rise, price for fuel dey also increase and vice versa. Money wey we pay for subsidy in 2012 plenty pass wetin we pay for subsidy today. Forget broke matter, subsidy na the only place wey masses dey benefit from govt. Govt broke but them still get money to buy chasis motor for senators and ministers say them wan 20mil as housing allowance. No be the same broke govt dey provide this money?
No forget say during campaign them yarn say nothing like subsidy and them no know who dey subsidise who.

@poster: let us try to stop politicizing things in naija. We should be happy that the pipelines are finally functioning. This will help the average naija man. We should not use such news to score cheap political points. If you actually look into the details you will see that this present administration inherited this pipeline repair contract and were just lucky to be in power when the project was completed. I commend the government for following through with projects from the past administration though.

It was earlier reported that a student of the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), Chinwe Ugoh Vivian-was declared missing few days ago. According to reports, she was last seen around the school premises on Friday. Fresh report has it that she's been found and has returned home safely....

Her brother simply identified as Joshua reached out to National Helm to give details of what happened. According to him, his sister left school in Ondo state on Friday for her home in Lagos with plans of attending a wedding on Saturday but never reached her destination.

She was said to have boarded a roadside bus having gotten to the park late (around 4pm) . She later discovered she entered the very wrong vehicle after passengers started falling asleep one after the other. This happened after passing so many police checkpoints.

According to her brother, she also joined other passengers to fall asleep and woke up close to a bush in an unknown location.....not knowing what those men of the underworld may have done to her and why they dumped her there. She had to trek till she got to the main road and met a good Samaritan who helped her and used his phone to contact her people.

She was found on Sunday and finally returned to her base in Lagos on Monday morning. She is filled with praises that she came out from the bus alive and not in body parts...

I want to agree with you, but . . .

Youtube or google 'oil bunkering in Nigeria" . . . and that's just less than half of what really goes down.
Are you tell me that these bunkerers actually drill their own wells and set up their own processing facilities? While I am not an expert on bunkering, I strongly disagree with the suggestion that 1 million barrels of oil is stolen every day in Nigeria.
Note that I am not trying to justify crude oil bunkering.
