The Big Brother Nigeria Season 2 show finale in 2017 ended with Michael Ejeba, popularly known as Efe emerging as the winner of season 2 of the most prestigious show in Nigeria.

Efe is a graduate of Economics and was the 14th contestant amongst 20 contestants for the reality TV Show.

Last night, Big Brother Naija season 5 housemates had their first night party and it was indeed a remarkable moment for all housemates.

Legendary beat producer, Sarz, controlled the tempo of the room. Although there were turndowns about the songs and beats, it was still a lively experience for the housemates, especially since it was their first party since the reality show began.

Controversial Nigerian Journalist, Kemi Olunloyo has said that Igbo youths have low self esteem, are raised to steal and aren’t creative.

She made this known on Wednesday July 15 in a post she shared on her official Twitter page.

Kemi had kicked off a #DaftNigerians hash tag campaign on Twitter, twitting about how “daft” some Nigerians are but she however argued and maintained that when it comes to “Igbo youth”, that theirs is “worst”.

According to her, the Igbo youth are jealous in nature, raised to steal ideas instead of being creative.

To further buttress her point, she cited the copyright situation in the Aba area of Abia State, probably referring to how new and trending original products are replicated, reproduced and repackaged to look like the original, hence the popular name tag “Aba-Made”.

Nigerian singer, Gabriel Oche Amanyi, popularly known as Terry G, has reacted to Ray Hushpuppi’s arrest.

The Akpako master who widely known for his eccentric dress-sense, urged people to pray for the Instagram big boy, as no one is clean or perfect.

Nigerian musician, Azeez Fashola who is widely known as Naira Marley has revealed what he meant by a line in one of his songs.

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) will not be organizing ceremonial parades for out-going 2019 Batch B, Stream 1 corps members due to the COVID-19 pandemic it was announced on Monday.

It said the development is due to the threat posed by the deadly pandemic coronavirus.

In a statement issued in Abuja on Monday by the Public Relations Director, Mrs Adenike Adeyemi, the scheme said that, in line with the social/physical distance protocol COVID-19, the National Service Certificate (CNS) will be issued to qualified members of the Corps at the local government level.


“Accordingly, a full complement of NYSC Officers have been mobilised for the distribution; and shall do so from ten service points in each of the Local Government Councils,” the statement partly read.

Also, it explained that certificate issuance will be delayed for ten days to allow for a seamless and cumbersome distribution process.

“As a precautionary measure, the distribution shall be staggered for a period of ten days in the first instance, in order to remove anxiety from the concerned corps members, in addition to making the activity seamless and less cumbersome,” it added.


Although congratulating the members of the corps for the effective completion of the service, which is defined as "a significant milestone," the scheme urged them to ensure; "the strictest observance of discipline; anchored in orderliness, adherence to orders, added to social/physical distance laws, use of facemask, hand sanitizer and proper handwashing with liquid soap for at least twenty years;

It also warned corps members who are not currently in their service states against breaching the inter-state travel ban but noted that they may proceed to their respective service states to collect their CNS once the ban is lifted and travel is free.


“Kindly note that unclaimed certificates shall be returned to the NYSC National Directorate Headquarters, Abuja two weeks after the lifting of the inter-state travel ban

“Please, always stay in touch with our social media platforms, as well as the mainstream media for further information,” it stressed.

A man from China’s Yunnan province tested positive for Hantavirus on Monday. He died while on his way back to Shandong Province for work on a chartered bus, China’s Global Times reported. 32 other people have been tested, the report added.

Following his death, hantavirus became a trend on social media, with people panicking that it was another COVID-19 ready to cause a new pandemic. However, contrary to popular belief and WhatsApp university schooling us about it, let’s get a reality check about hantavirus.

Humans who contract the hantavirus usually come into contact with rodents that carry the virus. “Rodent infestation in and around the home remains the primary risk for hantavirus exposure. Even healthy individuals are at risk for HPS infection if exposed to the virus,” Centre for Disease Control and Prevention said in its website.

Although HPS can't be passed on from person to person, it can be contracted if someone touches their eyes, nose or mouth after touching rodent droppings, urine, or nesting materials, states Centers for Disease Control and Prevention fact sheet.
Among the early symptoms of the virus include fever, headache, muscle ache, abdominal pain, dizziness, chills and abdominal problems, such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea About half of all HPS patients experience these symptoms.

Late symptoms include lungs fill with fluid and shortness of breath.

Director General of the National Youth Service Corps, General Shuaibu Ibrahim, has permitted all corps members to travel to their homes.

The decision, according to the DG, was coming on the heels of the closure of all schools in the country due to the outbreak of Coronavirus in the country.

In a memo to all Area Coordinators signed by Sanusi A.R on behalf of the NYSC DG, he stated that corps members willing to travel to their various homes should be allowed to go.

“I am directed to request all state coordinators to grant permission to corps members willing to travel, especially those in the teaching or allied professions.

“For the period it will last, corps members should be advised to adopt all preventive tips provided by the federal health authorities including high level of hygiene and refrain from any unwholesome act that may put them at risk,” the DG said.

He ordered all coordinators to inform corps members about the decision and ensure compliance.
