Chieftain of National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Musiliu Akinsanya a.k.a MC Oluomo is back in Nigeria after travelling to the United States of America, few weeks back for medical reasons.

Oluomo traveled to the US after being discharged from Eko hospital following an attack on him at an All Progressives Congress (APC) rally in Ikeja on January 8 where he was stabbed in the neck and stomach.

He returned to Lagos yesterday after been declared fit and okay by his doctors.

Empire star Jussie Smollett has been hospitalized after homophobic hate attacked.

The star was reportedly said to have turned down additional security before attack

Jussie Smollett didn’t want extra security in the week leading up to his attack this week.

The 35-year-old actor, who stars on “Empire,” was offered additional security by Fox when he wasn’t working on set, reports TMZ.

Last week, the television company offered to send helping hands after Smollett received a threatening letter with cutout letters reading “You will die black f-g.”

Security on set was increased after the incident, but Smollett reportedly did not want bodyguards for his time off the clock.

Late Monday, Smollett allegedly was attacked in Chicago by two men who spewed racist and homophobic slurs.

The men also doused the star with a “chemical substance” and tied a rope around his neck, police said.

Smollett was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment and was released Tuesday.

The assailants also yelled, “This is MAGA country” during the attack, claims TMZ. The police have yet to confirm that.

The crime is under investigation by the Chicago Police Department.

Nurse who Took Selfie in Labour with Naked Pregnant Woman in Background Faces “Interdiction”

Blantyre District Council has approved interdiction with no pay of a Midwifery nurse at Ndirande Health Centre who was suspended for allegedly taking a ‘selfie’ in labour ward where a pregnant woman was about to give birth.

The nurse, Patricia Malichi who defended herself saying the photo was leaked by her ex-lover, made the blunder late last year and the photo attracted mixed reactions as it made headlines on social media.

Speaking during a full council meeting on Monday, Deputy Council Chairperson, Akima Chipwatali said the nurse deserves a stiffer punishment because what she did infringed on the rights of every woman in the country.

“The interdiction has come at a right time and I feel happy that there is progress in this case. Government instructed that every woman must give birth at a health facility and what this nurse did by exposing a fellow woman’s nudity in a labour ward was uncalled for. What she did will discourage other women to give birth at a health center. She deserves a stiff punishment,” said Chipwatali.

Director of Health and Social Services, Dr. Gift Kawalazira said he was happy with the development and hoped the law will take its course, so that future perpetrators take a lesson.

He then said he would make sure he is involved in every step of the case to make sure that all ends well.

Lady Mourns As Drunk Yahoo Boy Kills 7 Of Her Friends In Ogun State

A lady took to Facebook to share her mourning to the world after a drunk driver, said to be a yahoo boy, killed her friends doing ablution, on Friday night, at a mosque along the Moshood Abiola way in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

The four occupants of the car also sustained injuries in the crash, but they survived. According to a witness, it is said that the drink-driver, who was in the company of three other occupants including one female, lost control of the vehicle he was driving before he ploughed into the victims.

The Head of Operations Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE), Abeokuta Division, Olaleye Babajide, confirmed the incident. He said the accident occurred at about 10.30 pm on that day.

He said “the car swooped off the road, uprooted an electric pole and thereafter crushed the worshippers standing in front of the Rahamot Lahill Quareeb mosque located beside the road, killing them on the spot.

The impact of the crash forced the authorities of the State Traffic officials to axe the car into pieces before the four occupants of the car could be removed from the wreckage,” he said.

Mr Babajide said the occupants of the car including the driver were drunk. “Overspeeding on the part of the driver was responsible for the crash. And also a number of alcoholic drinks, including tramadol were seen in the car,” he added.

He also said two of the occupants of the car were arrested while attempting to run away from the scene of the accident.

Two Zambian Youths Struggle to Rape Teenage Girl in New Trending Video

A video has surfaced online in which two Zambian youths are seen struggling to rape a teenage girl.

According to the Video obtained by Zambian Watch, the two Lusaka youths were forcing themselves on a 17-Year-old girl in a video that has since gone viral on internet.

These two youths can be heard pleading for a girl to just allow them have sex with her saying they won’t hurt her.

But this girl fought hard, grabbed one of the youths private part and twisted it.

The attempt failed as she managed to fight for her life and not to be raped.

Meanwhile, Zambian police have since launched an investigation to arrest the culprits.

Leave Nigeria Now or Face the Law, Inspector Police tell homosexuals


The Public Relations Officer of the Zone 2 Police Command, Mrs Dolapo Badmos, has asked homosexuals to flee the country or face the law.

She also called on Nigerians who have evidence against homosexuals to come forward with such pieces of evidence.

Badmos said this in a post on her official Instagram handle.

She said, “If you are homosexually inclined, Nigeria is not a place for you. There is a law (Same Sex Prohibition Act) here that criminalises homosexual clubs, associations and organisations with penalties of up to 15 years in jail.

“So, if you are a homosexual in nature, leave the country or face prosecution. But before you say, ‘does this matter?’ Kindly note that anything against the law of the land is criminal and all crimes will be punished accordingly no matter how small you think it is.

“The law says a person who registers, operates or participates in gay clubs, societies or organisations, directly or indirectly makes a public show of same-sex amorous relationship in Nigeria commits an offence and is liable on conviction to a term of 10 years. Anyone convicted of entering into a same-sex marriage contract or civil union faces up to 14 years imprisonment. All LGBT candidates in Nigeria should beware.”

Badmos’ post drew many reactions on her social media page.

While some condemned the police for going after homosexuals and ignoring more pressing issues, others accused the police of being partial, pointing out that a cross-dresser, who now identifies as a transgender, had become a celebrity but was left alone because he was rich.

In her response, the police spokesperson said, “In view of my last post about homosexuals and the law banning them, some people have been mentioning one particular name (very risky though) to be one.

"Kindly be informed that if you have any evidence or exhibits that can establish the case against him/her, please don’t hesitate to bring it up for a comprehensive investigation. Prosecution and conviction of suspects are not based on imagination rather it is based on evidence otherwise it will be treated as hearsay which is not admissible in court.

“Until then, let us keep our fingers crossed and not keep our lives risky. Thank you.”

Police keep vigil on Melaye’s Abuja mansion

The police have kept a vigil at the Abuja mansion of the senator representing Kogi West in the Senate, Dino Melaye, in a bid to arrest the lawmaker to answer to allegations of being involved in a case of attempted culpable homicide.

Additional police reinforcements were deployed in the mansion located at 11 Sangha Street, Maitama on Sunday. This followed two days of hide-and-seek between the police officers and the lawmaker, who is believed to be holed up in the residence.

It was gathered that fully-armed policemen, who were ferried to the location by several patrol vehicles, sealed off the major entry and exit points to the senator’s house.

Police officers were also visible at the entrance to an uncompleted building situated behind the lawmaker’s house on Mississippi Street.

The police had on Friday declared a manhunt for the lawmaker, who has been active on social media. The law enforcement agents arrested Melaye’s steward and a private security guard at the scene.

There were also reports that the police had cut off water and electricity supply to the building in an attempt to force the lawmaker out.

Melaye is being hunted by the police in connection with the alleged shooting of a police officer in Kogi last July.

The lawmaker has been engaged in a running political battle with the Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, and is also a critic of the President Muhammadu Buhari-led All Progressives Congress.

The Lady, identified as, Karimah, @hrh_karimah took to her Twitter page to write the below… She also shared a photo of the injuries she sustained.

I was robbed and assaulted at @iam_Davido #InfinixDavidoLiveInConcert. And davido looked straight at me and continued the show.



I lost my phone,my ATM card and all my money all because you couldn’t pause the show and see that your fans were dying. A grown man groped me, inserted his fingers in my vagina and continuously beat me up. I fell down on broken glass and you just continued.

I was literally stranded at eko Atlantic all the way from ikeja. I told my mum that only rapture was going to stop me from seeing davido and I wish rapture actually happened before this concert..

Before this incident I was like your biggest fan.I didn’t have money but I entered a lot of fake giveaways and called my friends to send me money to come and see you at your concert.

Now I’m in more debt. All my properties are gone and I have a broken arm and a black eye as souvenirs from your concert. The crazy thing was you looked directly at me and continued performing.

Tinubu wants three million votes for Buhari in Lagos

The national leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, on Monday urged party members in Lagos State to deliver three million votes for President Muhammadu Buhari in the 2019 presidential election.

Tinubu, who said APC must maintain strong outing in the state, told party members to also vote overwhelmingly for the party’s governorship, National Assembly and state House of Assembly candidates.

He spoke during a meeting with all APC stakeholders, including Governor Akinwunmi Ambode and the party’s governorship candidate, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, at the party secretariat in Lagos.

He urged Nigerians to reject the Peoples Democratic Party in all elections.

He said, “We are still waiting for the official list of candidates from the Independent National Electoral Commission; that is why we have not inaugurated the campaigns.

“What is important at this moment is where Nigeria is going. Here in Lagos, we must maintain a strong outing for the APC.

“We must differentiate between developmental economy and container economy. We must educate our people that we will not accept to get Nigeria corrupt again.

“We suffered 16 years of their failures and empty promises. We in Lagos survived them and we made progress. We are today the fifth largest economy in  Africa.

“They do not have the number. We have six million solid votes in Lagos. I challenge all of you, your target must be 50 per cent of those votes for APC- three million votes of the entire six million votes.

“You will do it for Buhari, Osinbajo, senators, governor, House of Representatives and House of Assembly candidates.”

Ambode had during his address promised to work for the success of the party and hand over to Sanwo-Olu as governor on May 29, 2019.

He said, “We are one party and one family. If this is so, we should proceed to make APC to continue to rule at the centre and Lagos State. So, our stakeholders and elders, I seek your solidarity and support for all our candidates.

“This is the way the campaign will go. On February 16, the whole of Lagos will vote for Buhari, while on March 2, we already know it is Sanwo-Olu/ Hamzat that will take over from me in good spirit.”
