You're not being clear. Does The family have to apply individually For the F2 visa?

Good evening. I have a question.
If a man wishes to apply for a F1 visa and wants his family to accompany him.. Will he have to apply for F2 for them individually or his F1 application can cover for the family?

Hi everyone. I'm glad this thread is still active. I'll be writing the GRE on Friday. I've studied loads of books and I hope everything turns out right.
