@Skii Every leader needs his dogs of war, Fashola can make Tinubu his if he plays it right, Tinubu is a necessary evil for now, until someone else with a more altruistic mind, intelligence and deeper pockets can rise up in the SW, we will have to make do with Tinubu, the alternative is mediocre. |
Just Sad. He is obviously an intelligent man, but he is on the dark side. |
What most people who have spoken against Tinubu have missed is that it is Tinubu that has allowed Fashola to perfrom, he has the assembly men in his pockets, he has settled all those troublesome grassroot politicians and has told them to leave Fashola alone to perform his function, Tinubu is Fashola's enabler, if Fashola becomes a President today, he needs someone to play the dirty side of politics for him. |
@Beaf Bone all those IT stuff, I am in the industry and I know how much those things cost, the company handling the IT stuff for those schools is on Akin Adesola/Adeola Odeku junction, everything is just a scam jare. The spate of stealing in the Niger Delta is the highest in the country, Amaechi that people say is working is also stealing wella. |
We nefa start, when we were to elect a prudent and frugal man, we went ahead to elect a spendthrift, why do you guys think they are removing the subsidy, where do guys think budget deficits are financed from, no be by borrowing? |
My arithmetic was even wrong, it is 1.3 billion naira per school, o ga o. |
@eze Ships do not queue for weeks or months in Lagos, how many ships do we get sef that they will be waiting to offload for weeks? |
Amaechi is going to use 13 billion naira to build 10 primary schools? Haba, that is 130million Naira per school, kilode, let him take it easy now. |
I have witnessed more containers going to the North than the East, a port in Onitsha will benefit the SE no doubt, but, it will not have an effect on Lagos. |
@eze I guess your question is indeed silly but I will answer you, there is technically no Lagos - Asaba road, but I have travelled from Lagos to Asaba before and Benin to Asaba is a modern road, Benin Ore is bad, Ore Sagamu is not too good, Sagamu Lagos is just there, so I have answered your question. |
The opening of the port in Onitsha will enable more goods to come in to the country, it is not going to affect the Lagos economy, the ports are federal properties anyway and importers will not ship goods meant for the SW to Onitsha just because of some tribal patriotism. There are so many ports in the South South that should have been receiving goods for the SE, why has this not happened? |
I just wish and pray that other SW governors can replicate Fashola's commitment, and other regions can take a cue as well. |
GEJ headache |
Non Existent |
Tinubu deployed resources to help Mimiko (do you think SANs come cheap), he also used his radio station to badger the PDP to submission in the state, there is nothing wrong in Mimiko going for a second term, but abusing the man who helped you reclaim your mandate is not on. |
Mimiko can talk now abi, he had better put his party in order else he will lose and lose nicely, when Tinubu was spending money and fighting OBJ over his mandate, Mimiko was not worshipping a foreign god abi, Mimiko is just an ingrate and his party members are not happy with him. |
I do not really like her but the guys should follow the instructions of the President, if they can not, let them resign. |
The ministers should resign or is it by force to be in government? |
@Werepe You have been attacking Fashola on so many threads, yet you defend GEJ, I can not just fathom it. |
@Onlytruth There was killing of Igbos but that was chiefly in the North, the one I am aware of in the West was during the coup and was carried out by elements of northern extraction. |
I asked the question because you are always defending someone who is doing absolutely nothing, yet, you are tearing Fashola a new one because he built houses for the comfortable, Fashola's responsibility is to the midas and the mendicant, rich people do expect government to do some things for them, afterall, those who work to earn the money pay more tax than the poor people. |
@onlytruth Please do not spread lies, the eastern people that were killed in yoruba land were killed in the coup of July (by Muritala and co) and there was no continuous killing as you have claimed, as for the North, yeah I agree a lot of easterners were killed (both civilian and military), if easterners were to kill anybody in the period you claimed, it should have been northerners and Awolowo did not have a hand in the killings, so why would your peeps kill him. The killings of Easterners in other parts of the country had to do with Ironsi's weakness, the blood thirsty nature of Muritala and co, the coup of January and the attitude of some eastern officers after that coup. If the easterners had killed Awo, do you think your peeps will be able to live in the West? |
@Onlytruth Why should Awo reward the Igbo for his safety, were you guys meant to kill him? |
@Aigbofa Me I tire o, Awo should be grateful for serving a prison sentence on trumped up charges, he should be grateful that people were carrying out their duties. I find it funny that our brothers from the East on this forum hate a man who was a finance minister in a government and his people far more than they hate those who actually killed them, I can not recollect one single property of an Easterner that was confiscated in the West, in actual fact, it is in PH that you find this rampant, yet they do not hate PH people, it is Yorubas that are hated. |
Buhari obviously, I voted for him and will still vote for him, for this voting to be fair, please ask this question in 12 months, GEJ would have been in power for over two years and we will be able to judge him well. |
@Werepe Can you tell us what GEJ has done, also those skyscrapers are occupied by middle class people who should be able to afford the same comfort here. |
All these people coming online telling us that subsidy removal is good are funny people I swear, subsidy is a scam, the guys importing these things bring in a certain quantity and claim a multiple of what they should claim, is that the fault of the common man on the street? Someone said the landing cost of fuel is less than 65 naira and that the bulk of the money paid for fuel is tax from the importing country, why is it so difficult to build refineries? Why is it so difficult for our leaders to do what is right? |
@Depilot I understand your concerns and you have a valid point, I hope Eko Ile can pass these concerns on to the appropriate authorities, ideally, people should submit applications and the houses should be allotted by a trusted company, I think the banks will also have a say in the allotments and you know our bankers work on padi padi basis. |
I think I agree with Eko Ile's assertion, the purpose of this project was for Lagos state to make money that can be used to take care of other needs, it is just like states investing in telecoms companies and then using the proceeds to better the life of their citizens, if Lagos state can partner with bigger mortgage institutions we will have more artisans and other professionals working and that will help the economy of the state, the rich should also have some things done for them too as they are also citizens of the state. |
Are these things smuggled in Cans? What do people mean by saying that we can not have cheap items in Nigeria because they are sold at a higher price in the neighboring country. The government should live up to its responsibilities by securing our borders. |
See sense ooooooooo, kai, can someone pass this on to GEJ. |
Abacha will probably floor them because he had no IMF or World Bank Agenda, if Abacha could perform fairly well economically, I do not see why OBJ, Yar Adua and GEJ can not perform far better, they have more resources and technology is also on their side. |
