Criminal Buhari and obama. we saw it coming

The United States government has vowed to continue to press the Nigerian government to reverse its anti-gay law.


The US Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs, Linda Thomas-Greenfield, said this during a live-web chat with journalists in Washington. Our correspondent monitored the web chat in Abuja.

Thomas-Greenfield also said that America was not bothered that Chinese companies were fast taking over the African market from their US counterparts.

President Goodluck Jonathan had on January 7, 2014 assented to the Same Sex Marriage (Prohibition) Bill 2013 which criminalises homosexuality in the country.

On January 14 when it became public that the President had signed the bill into law, the US, Canada and the European Union openly expressed reservations over the law.

Thomas-Greenfield, who said the US had adopted the protection of the rights of same-sex people as part of its foreign policies, vowed that Washington would continue to mount and sustain pressure on Nigeria and other countries to reverse their laws against the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender community.

She said, “As a government, it is one of the highest priorities and strongest values that discrimination against anyone based on their sexual orientation and gender identity is wrong. We believe human rights should be available to everybody.

“As a policy, we will continue to press the government of Nigeria as well as other governments who have provided legislation that discriminate against the LGBT community.”

Thomas-Greenfiled, who did not agree that pressuring Nigeria to reverse the anti-gay law amounted to interference, said the country and Uganda had the hardest legislation on the gay community.

She said, “This is very much a work in progress, but I think you will agree with me that the law in Nigeria really went far in discriminating against this community but also people who associate with them.

“So we will continue to press the government, to press the legislature to change these laws and provide human rights for all Nigerian people regardless of their sexual orientation.”

She, however, did not disclose if the US would impose sanctions on the countries with anti-gay laws to achieve its objectives.

Thomas-Greenfield was optimistic that the U.S would win the fight to protect the LGBT community.

She said, “With what is happening in the US, you can determine how far we are willing to go. We strongly believe human rights for all people and we are particularly opposed to legislation that actually targets the gay community for discrimination. So we are prepared to push this as a policy not just in Africa but across the world.”

the thing is,in the north where I'm from,the elite and well to do don't marry out their daughters at age 9 or even 16..they go to sch and all..the less privileged however give birth to a lot of children and since they can't cater for these children,they marry them off to the highest bidder..it's not right but its what it is! so with this my small story do you now get why I dont think she married at that age??

Ladipo Market Demolished

Some armed men and officials suspected to be
working for Mushin Local Government and
supported by a team of policemen on Tuesday
morning invaded Ladipo Auto Spare Parts Market
and demolished shops in the market.
During the demolition exercise, the traders were
barred from entering the market in Mushin, Lagos
State, western Nigeria, to remove their goods from
the shops.
The armed men were battle ready to forestall any
resistance from the traders as the demolition was
going on.
Traders were also not allowed to get near the
entrance into the market as tipper lorries were seen
taking sand and gravel into the market to
commence work after the demolition.
The chairman of the market and president of the
central market union, Comrade Kingsley Ogunor
said he was not informed before they came for the
demolition which threw the entire market into
confusion.
In front of the market gate was a banner placed by
those suspected to be behind the demolition with
the inscription: Proposed Commercial Development
of Mushin, Lagos.
It was also written on the banner that Mushin Local
Government in conjunction with a developer known
as Total Value Integrated Services Limited is to
commence building a modern plaza market in place
of the present stalls being demolished.
The duration for the completion of the project is 18
months.
When our reporter visited the market Tuesday
morning, some of the traders expressed their
surprise over the development and said they were
not given any notice, neither was there any court
judgment asking them to vacate the stalls.
At the time of this report, the traders had started
protesting over the demolition and had moved to the
Mushin Council secretariat to complain about what
they alleged as illegal demolition.
When our reporter visited the council, the council
secretary, Mr Babajide Bello was not around to
comment on the matter.
The information officer, Mr Akin Akinwunmi was not
also around and did not pick calls at the time of this
report.
A developer carried out a similar action some time
last year and it did not amount to anything as the
traders held on to their stalls.
It was not yet clear if it is the same developer that
is behind the latest demolition.

man Chijoke Ngwu Ogbodo a native of Nkanu LGA,
Enugu State was gruesomely murdered along with
his wife in Katsima by gunmen suspected to be
Fulani herds men. The couple were killed in the
presence of their children.
Available information indicate the assassins clubbed
the couple, machete them before shooting them at
point blank.
The Igbo community in Katsina have been thrown
into deep mourning and fear as a result of the
killings. The killing of Ngwo Ogbodo and wife
appears one in a series of targeted attacks on the
Igbo population in living Katsina. Statistics show
attacks on the Igbo both in the North and South
West has increased since after the 2015 General
Election largely because they were said to have not
supported President Muhammadu Buhari at the
polls.
The bodies of the couple have been removed from
their home located along the Katsina Bypass and
deposited at the katsina mortuary. Mr Ogbodo is the
manufacturer of the popular Sir Benjik Pure Water.
Leaders within the Igbo community have express
little confidence in the police ability to fish out the
killers. Previous attacks and premeditated killings
of the Igbo have gone unresolved.

I want to use this medium to plead with us not to tarnish the little image left of Nigeria. The search engines have been flooded with new, creative but derogatory words and memes that will soon turn to norms and bring ridicule to Nigeria.

The APC should as a matter of urgency reach out to Nigerians, particularly GEJ's family and BEG them to forgive their insults, assaults, taunts in order to move forward in peace ..same for their online supporters.
